Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 148: Of Course, They Knew Each Other
[INCAYON]
"Oh, shit. Jeon Jungwoo got a fucking mate," Yanna whisper-yelled as she took in the sight before her.
Clearly, his mate was a shocker to everyone, because no one had ever thought that the crown heir would ever have a male mate. It was something that got the king staring at the crowd before them, like he was contemplating what this meant.
His only son, the heir to the throne, had a male mate.
"Who is he?" the stranger asked and Yanna pointed at the king, "his son."
"Sounds like drama for the crown," the stranger said before he suddenly stepped forward to where the prince and his mate were standing.
It was a near-sad sight, given they were at the center of attention and definitely not in a way that made them want to stay and see what the future was holding.
"Congratulations your highness, on getting such a handsome mate. Congratulations to you too, Moonbin. I knew you were a lucky bastard, but pulling the crown prince’s heart, that is really something.
"Congratulations, brother," the stranger said, and suddenly there was a dead silence.
They knew each other and that didn’t sound like a good thing. Hell, the king was suddenly very okay with his son being gay, but his son’s mate knowing the stranger that terrified him, was something else.
"Thanks, brother. She said he had a good heart, y’know," Moonbin said as he looked at Jungwoo who was standing there, not sure if this was also a good thing.
He wasn’t going to leave his mate, but it was unsettling to know that his mate and the stranger knew each other.
"Of course, she did. She knows him better than anyone else. But you also know if you hurt him she might chop your legs off, right? I’m just saying this early so the both of you don’t make me decide.
"Besides, I’m on the side of whoever makes me dumplings first," the stranger said, and Moonbin just laughed before he hugged the stranger. It was clear that they had a brotherly relationship, and Jungwoo definitely had nothing to worry about.
Jungwoo stood there stiff as he looked at his beautiful mate, Dong Moonbin, a man who definitely knew Kim Rania. Otherwise, there was just no reason for the stranger to tell him that there was a she somewhere who would hurt Moonbin if he hurt Jungwoo.
Only Rani would know Jungwoo better than anyone else, and only she would be protecting the people she loved even from a distance.
Oh, Rani.
"He’s too precious to me," Moonbin said before turning to his mate, "meet my best friend and brother, Kim."
"Hello, Kim, nice to meet you," Jungwoo said right when Dalrae showed up all smiles and this time she looked at them with disapproving eyes. She looked like there was more and better that could have been done, but instead, here they were.
"You finally got a mate! Congratulations, brother, you grew up, our Jungwoo!" Dalrae said a little too happily to Jungwoo who had been expecting the cold shoulder he had received from Dalrae for months.
Then again, this just went on to confirm his suspicions that Kim Rania was back in the realm. However, that was the least of their concerns, because right now, what mattered was his mate and only his mate.
"If you hurt him, I’ll cut off your intestines while you’re awake," Dalrae said to Dong Moonbin with a creepy smile and Jungwoo had to step in.
He knew how protective his friends always got and for a moment, he felt like it was just the three of them against the wolf as usual. Just him, Rani and Dalrae, doing whatever they wanted and protecting each other.
It was sad where they currently stood with each other, but at least on this happy day, he had one of his best friends to see him happy, right?
"You’re scaring him, Lim Lim," Jungwoo said, ignoring the facepalms in the crowd.
Everyone was so focused on him that it was making him feel uncomfortable, but with his mate gently squeezing his hand in reassurance, and Dalrae being here, he felt safe. He was okay, he would be anyway.
"Well, he’s got to know that just because you’re the big soft prince, he can’t fuck with you and live to tell the story of how it all went down. So hi, Moonbin, I’m Dalrae," Dalrae said chirpily as Kim, the strange, shooed people away.
There was nothing to be seen here and they all needed to bugger off anyway.
"Hi Dalrae. I now you met my best friend, Kim, already, yeah?" Moonbin said and Kim just glared at him.
"If you keep talking , I swear I’ll tell your dearest mate secrets about y—"
"Oookay. My mate and I will be off now. Thank you king Seojoon and Queen Eunbi for giving me the best gift ever. I will surely love and take care of him with my life," Moonbin said as he bowed to the king and queen before he dragged his mate away.
Compared to Jungwoo, Moonbin was tiny and shorter. He looked softer than Jungwoo and was always happy. He didn’t have a dangerous aura on him, instead, he had all happy auras around him.
Moonbin wasn’t dangerous in any way and maybe that was why the goddess had chosen him as the perfect fit for Jeon Jungwoo, the warrior and prince who was tasked with running a whole damn kingdom when his parents retired.
It wasn’t going to be easy, but he had Moonbin to complement him perfectly. Dong Moonbin was the perfect balance to the chaos that was Jeon Jungwoo.
He was beautiful, for a man, and always chirpy. It was almost surprising how he had managed to get along with Kim, the Viking warrior who looked like anyone smiling was like a stain on his shoe.
"So what are you up to, Kim," Dalrae said, making sure to drag the name like it was something she knew the stranger hated. And he growled at her in warning. It was a soft warning, but one that the people around weren’t ready to mingle with.
But Dalrae, she was just there, smiling at the viking warrior like she had hit the jackpot with him.
"Come along, let me show you around Incayon, Kim," Dalrae added and this time the stranger figured that it was payback time, because he dragged Lim Dalrae by the ear and walked away, ignoring Yanna who was watching the banters carefully.
One thing Yanna had learned was to never call the warrior Kim, in case it was a trigger. But for what?
"Oww, you barbaric man. That hurts!" Dalrae kept on whining and Kim just looked at her, rolling his eyes because he knew just how dramatic Dalrae always was.
"I’ll stop if you don’t call me Kim," the stranger said and Dalrae pouted at him, as if to tell him that she wasn’t about to stop anytime soon.
"Well then, let it be known that I chose peace and you refused," he warrior said as he carried Dalrae bridal style towards the south, where their friends were waiting for them.
They were bickering even though one was carrying the other, but that wasn’t news to them, because when they reached their friends, they pretended like Dalrae and her new friend didn’t even exist to them.
"He’s carrying her bridal style. I called it. Now you guys are on kitchen duty!" Rania cheered excitedly, while the rest of her friends groaned in frustration. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
