Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 146: Friends Or Acquaintances
[INCAYON]
"Since you’re bragging about how good a mother you have been, how about you ask Seojoon about what really happened to Junghwa?" Luna Kim said with a smirk on her face like she knew something the once mighty queen of Obren didn’t know.
"You’re messing with me," Queen Eunbi said as she looked at Luna Kim.
Of all the things she had imagined on this night, the one she was met with was certainly not it. Life had come at her for so many things but no one had ever faced her with the possible doubt that her daughter was dead.
Then again, why would Luna Kim want to stir doubts in her mind right now? What else was there to be worked out? What other truth existed other than the fact that her child was dead when she was born?
However, in a kingdom whose walls were made of secrets upon secrets, what were the chances that Luna Kim was bluffing? Oh, how that was a reality that shut the queen up.
"Am I?" Luna Kim haunted before adding, "Go, Eunbi, ask your questions tk the am you share a bed with in the night if you think I’m bluffing. Besides, who knows, I may actually be bluffing because you called me a bad mother indirectly.
"That’s something you’ll never be sure of unless you ask the right people and from where I’m standing, your shit-faced husband has the answers you need. Good luck I guess, Eunbi-a."
As the queen and the strongest luna in the realm were having their discussion, someone with a pair of green eyes was staring at them from a distance.
They were the eyes that the king had once been so sure would never see light again and yet as the festival continued they had been exposed to a new reality. It wasn’t every day that shit happened like this but did the green-eyed stranger care this time?
"Y’know if you want to listen in on their conversation. All you have to do is ask for help," a voice interrupted the stranger, and he just chuckled. He loved the surprises he was getting from Obren and frankly, he wanted to know more. But if only there was a lot of time to work that out.
"I like seeing people tense as hell," the stranger said as he kept looking at the two women in the distance. Sure enough, the queen and the luna were in some sort of stance but that didn’t even mean shit to him right now.
"I’m Yanna," the voice said and the stranger just scoffed.
"Bold of you to interrupt my listening for a name I didn’t care to ask you of. You introduced yourself. Now leave," the stranger said and it was Yanna’s turn to sigh.
Then again she had seen what the man had done earlier and it wasn’t wrong to assume that this man had some issues to iron out with the Obren crown.
"It’s easier to kidnap the queen than Luna Kim. If you get the queen, the whole of Obren will rally and try to make peace with you. They will negotiate and pay you the highest amount. She is worth a lot.
"And she certainly loves the kingdom," Yanna began, ignoring the fact that the man hadn’t asked her shit. She figured that she had found someone to share her ambitions with, but what were those ambitions right now anyway?
She had come back to the limelight and it was just a matter of time before the cloaking spell she had cast on herself would wear off and she would have to face her new horrific reality. It was going to be hellish.
"But what if I want the woman she’s talking to?" the stranger dared to ask even though he had zero interest in Luna Kim. He wanted to know what Yanna was thinking about Luna Kim and if anyone would ever do anything for the woman.
Maybe the alpha would just try and fight for her but wouldn’t do much, right?
"Well, before you take her. You might want to ask yourself how much longer you want to be alive," Yanna said with a chuckle as she sat on the ground next to the stranger.
Luna Kim didn’t look dangerous and she was just another woman in the realm, right? Besides it’s not like there was anyone who could go to war for the woman. The Incayon former alpha was a man of the people and would always try to be the hero by saving the wolves.
"She doesn’t look as dangerous. Well, she isn’t dangerous. But her products are crazy and wild. One of them even faked my murder once. I’m trying to find her so she can explain why she didn’t just kill me when she could have," Yanna said and the stranger laughed this time.
"Her products? Wow. That’s new. I never heard anyone call themselves a product. You make it sound like they’re the source of armageddon. Or are they?" the stranger asked and Yanna sat upright like she was ready for storytime. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Oh, but it would have been fun if this stranger didn’t know every little thing that went on in Obren.
"Kidnapping luna Kim is the most dangerous thing you can ever think of. That woman’s daughters are the siblings of doom. Dalrae and Rania? They’re bad news so don’t even think of going there.
"Anyway, I told you my name. Won’t you tell me yours?" Yanna asked and the stranger stared at her with a toothy smile almost like the man had hit the jackpot. But had he really?
"I’ll tell you my name if we make it through to the end of the festival. Deal?" The stranger said and Yanna couldn’t help but agree. After all, the second day of the festival was near, especially given the countdown to midnight could be heard in the distance.
Everyone was excited and rightfully so anyway.
"Hello, Obren. First off, sorry I’m late. Secondly, let the countdown to midnight begin! May the goddess give us kind mates!!!" Dalrae’s panting voice was suddenly heard in the distance making the stranger and Yanna look at each other knowingly.
She was back which meant that she had found whoever she was looking for or rather whatever thrill was beyond the curtains of the endless rules in the nation.
"Let’s go get us some mates, yeah," Yanna said like she didn’t know that she had fucked up when he had murdered her won mate in the sacrifice to make Jihoon hers. But then this stranger didn’t know that. So she would use that to her advantage.
"You said what I was thinking. Come along, we have a party to attend!" the stranger said as he rushed to where the countdown was.
His heart was constricting in his chest as memories from a past he had always wanted to forget hit him harshly. It was like someone had unlocked the Pandora of everything that he had worked so hard to hide.
Then again he knew that coming to this festival was bound to unlock the worst of the worst memoirs. He just had to pull through the night and hear wolves claim their own. Who knows, maybe he would find one for himself too.
"Mate."
