Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 118: Dalrae’s Enlightenment
[INCAYON]
With Jihoon gone, Dalrae, who had gone to one of the spots she had always been with Rania, felt all the blood drain from her system. She was in shock by what Jihon had just said. It would have been really terrible if Jihoon himself had come to let her know about Rania.
The man knew that she would kill him without a second thought, but even then, he had come to tell her. And that only left Dalrae with more questions.
Of course, she had had her suspicions from the beginning, but then seeing Jihoon that worried for Rania, made Dalrae wonder if her thoughts were really making sense.
Dalrae remembered Rania telling her that Yanna had gone to a witch to manipulate Rai’s mate bond. It was something that had seemed absurd then, but then there was only one reason a woman would do anything to another woman.
Love.
Yanna had to have been in love with Jihoon to the point that if she couldn’t have him, she wouldn’t want anyone to have him again, but what better way to manipulate the mate bond, right? That could also explain why Rania hated Yanna with all of her being.
Rania may have been crazy, but even Kim Rania wasn’t that crazy to kill a rightful Luna in her lands like that. She had to have known it would have dire consequences, but even then, Rani had done it.
"Fuck. He is her mate," Dalrae whispered as realization hit her defeatedly and she thought back to the urgency in Jihoon’s eyes. He was worried for the woman who hated him, he was bothered by her pain, when he shouldn’t have.
And as Dalrae connected the dots, the Incayon alpha slumped on the forest ground, as she took a breather.
She hadn’t expected that this would happen, but now that it had, she couldn’t help but want to bring Yanna back to life and strangle the life out of her, torture her a little too slowly to the point that the only thing that would make sense to the hybrid, was if she died.
And that was something Dalrae wouldn’t let her have as easily.
"No wonder Rani was always angry. She had a mate who didn’t know her. She had never been alone. Fuck it," Dalrae grumbled as she got up again, and started to pace in the woods. She wasn’t sure who she was to face this damned truth.
"He definitely doesn’t know about it, otherwise he wouldn’t have put her through that much pain. Oh Rani, what have you done?" Dalrae asked as she walked around f the forest.
Lim Dalrae was anxious and angry. And yet she also understoond Rani.
Growing up in a family that had despised her for a long time would do that to a person.
The Kims had made Rani feel like she didn’t deserve to be loved and now that her mate was snatched from her, Rania hadn’t fought back, instead, she let everything go, and only resorted to being the hated one. It was the only way she could cope.
"Fuuckk!!" Dalrae let out a string of curses in the forest along with growls, and shouts. She was frustrated by everything and everyone. And the fact that she couldn’t even do shit about it, made her feel like she was going insane.
Her Rani had endured so much alone, and with everyone against her. It had been a little too cruel, but even then Kim Rania had never once complained.
"I still have a month though," Dalrae said angrily as she punched the nearest tree, not caring that she hurt her fists. She was pissed and even as the tree leaves and shit fell on her, she didn’t mind, not even when the birds flew away from the green she had just punished.
She had had enough and was still helpless at that, but was she really helpless?
Defetaedly, Dalrae walked back to the pack house. On her way there she glared at any and everyone who watched her. She wasn’t in the mood for ’hi’s’ and ’hellos’, and not especially with his bunch of ungrateful wolves.
She just didn’t have the time to deal with them and frankly, given the chance, she would go out there and befriend Rani. Dlarae wanted to tell Rania that she understood her, but then what would that do for Rani?
It wasn’t like Rania didn’t know that Dalrae loved her.
Dalrae had to think, and fast, because that was the only way to make sure that Rania was safe.
"Hello alpha, are you okay?" one of her warriors asked her and Dalrae just ignored him.
What was she ever supposed to tell the warriors? That she was worried sick about Rania, or that she had just figured that Rania and Jihoon were true mates, and that Yanna had been the bitch all this time?
There was really no way of explaining that, when Rani herself hadn’t wanted it to be known. She had worked so hard to make sense of what had been happening and Dalrae was feeling like shit for finding out the truth.
She was scared of what it would sound like if she said it a second time, so she just walked to her bedroom and locked herself, in.
She didn’t want to be visited, and people already knew that her bedroom and that of Rania were out of bounds for everyone, unless they had this strong desire to be eliminated by a pissed alpha female.
"Oh Rani, why wouldn’t you tell me?" Dalrae sighed as she plopped on her bed, face down into her pillow, like she didn’t want to believe that shit had happened. She didn’t want to believe that all her life had been a lie.
For years she had unprotected Rania and for those years she had wished that there was a role she could have done for her best friend. Turns out that even in the end, there was really nothing Dalrae could have done for Rani.
Well, that wasn’t entirely true, because as she frustratedly tried to think rationally and failed, Dalrae got an idea, one that would easily be the worst idea to ever cross her mind, but then it wasn’t like it could get any crazier.
"Kylian, prepare the horses, we’re leaving," Dalrae said to her lead warrior in the mind link.
She knew that her idea was insane and the less that her warriors knew about it, the safer it would be for Rania. Dalrae knew that she still had a whole month to wait, but the new reality that she had been hit with, didn’t really spell that month well for her.
Suddenly one month felt like a year and Lim Dalrae was not a patient woman. Maybe she had gone bonkers well that wasn’t hard to tell, even as she rushed to the shower and hurriedly cleaned up.
She was going on a long journey, one that would probably make her look like an insane woman, but then it wasn’t like she had many options at the moment, right?
"Alpha, the horses are ready," Kylian said just in time when Dalrae was walking out of the pack house. She didn’t tell Alpha Kim where she was headed, save for the occasional, ’I’m leaving and you’re in charge now.’
That was the most they had talked about, and Dalrae, she didn’t really care about that.
’I’m sorry Rani, but three months is a really long time sister.’
