Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 101: It Was Always All or Nothing For Them
*Sorry for the delayed updates, power issues were intense today lol. Enjoy.
[RANIA]
"If you want me to lead our people and not run away, then you must meet me every three months, at the southern supernatural gates next to Altunia. Otherwise, you have no deal," Dalrae said, not even batting an eye as Rania looked at her.
There were things Rania was doing that didn’t sit right with Dalrae, but if she couldn’t accept this simple deal, then there was no point in Dalrae staying with wolves who had changed their minds faster than anyone could have against their alpha.
It was almost like the whole world was burning and all Dalrae had to do was shout Rania and the fires would be out, since everyone wanted to have a piece of Rania.
"But Dalrae—" Rania began, even though she knew that she was never going to win this time. There had been too many aspects of her craziness and Dalrae had remained loyal to their bond even then.
Rania knew that if she gave Dalrae the choice between staying in Incayon and running off into the sunset with Rania, Dalrae would choose to run with Rania in a heartbeat. But Rania needed Dalrae to be an alpha.
She needed Dalrae to create her own reputation. The future that was headed their way was terrifying and it would be even harder for Dalrae if she didn’t have a reputation. It was a future so cruel, but also one that Rania would choose to die, before she let happen to her sister.
"Altunia supernatural gates, or no deal. It’s pretty simple, Rani. Besides, I have no reason to stay in Incayon and rule over the people that treated you like shit. Who’s to say that they won’t treat me the same way?" Dalrae asked like she didn’t already know the answer to that.
Maybe she needed reassurance, maybe she was desperate for it, and maybe she just needed Rania to say the magic words, and Rania didn’t have a problem with that anyway.
"They won’t even try to lift a finger to hurt you, my Lim Lim. Everyone knows I would burn down Obren for you. They know not to try and mess with you, because then I will be the beast they hate so much.
Don’t stress too much, sister, as long as I live, no one will try to harm you, and if I’m gone while you remain, the Odelia troll will settle the scores for you on my behalf," Rania said, making Dalrae raise an eyebrow again.
Dalrae was already aware of how important she was to Rania.
However, this was the third time that Rania mentioned the Odelia troll’s existence in Obren. This was also the second time that Rania had insinuated that the Odelia troll wouldn’t dare harm Dalrae. It was almost like Rania was sure of that.
So what was it that Rani wasn’t telling her?
"Odelia troll? Are you in love with that creature or what? Last I checked, you said that he was dangerous to the kids and everyone, so why the fuck would it protect me when you’re gone?" Dalrae asked, and Rania just let out a proud soft smile.
Her sister was naive in so many ways, and maybe that was also why Rania had managed to keep Dalrae safe all these years.
It was essential that her innocence stated the same because otherwise, Dalrae would go digging and that would uncover horrors that didn’t have the time to waste. Horrors that would not spare her life, because to them she was just another nosey wolf, but to Rania, Dalrae was everything she could ever ask for in a sister.
"Seems like I have to give you a choice too, sister. Either I tell you about the Odelia troll and my relationship with her, or I show up at the southern supernatural gates next to Altunia every three months.
"You tell me which is which, and I promise you, I will give it to you, Lim Lim. I won’t try to fight you on your choice," Rania said, as a beautiful smirk made its way to her face. She down there wasn’t much of a choice there, given Dalrae would even sacrifice Incayon if it meant being beside Rania.
It’s crazy how much their friendship has evolved to the point that they are inseparable sisters. But maybe that was what they both needed.
A sister who wasn’t scared to cross the king if it meant saving her sister, and a sister who was loved by everyone, a sister who was kind-hearted and never did anything that would raise suspicions on her love for the other sister.
Theirs was a crazy bond, but one they would always fight for.
"I hate you, Rani," Darae said as she pulled Rania into a teary hug. She would miss these moments with Rania, and that scared the hell out of her.
Dalrae always loved having Rania around, and even when Rani had left for the mission of the damned, with the psycho rival Alpha, Dalrae had been there for Rania in so many ways.
"I love you too, Dalrae. However, time is not on my side, sister. I need to leave as soon as possible, before your wolf is forced to come after me for being a rogue," Rania laughed as she hugged Dalrae for a longer minute.
She hated that she was leaving, and hated that there was a chance that life would be harder for Dalrae. Then again, maybe it was a good thing that Dalrae was loved by the wolves, or it could have been another case of Rani being forced to come back and kick some asses from the borders.
"If my wolf ever tries to hate you instead of protect you, I will kill it myself," Dalrae said with conviction, and Rania was sure her sister was nuts. Then again, the eyes Dalrae was giving her right now, was proof that nothing the woman said was a lie. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
She would really do it.
Oh, how they were bad for each other, and yet at the same time, these two sisters were the best for each other.
"Let’s get some food alright? I’m sure the Odelia troll left us some food ahead. I’ll thank her for that later," Rania said to Dalrae who was just listening to her.
It was crazy how Rania’s desire to run away from home had been molded into thousands of rejections, a broken heart, a numbed sense of humanity, and more than anything, a heart that would never falter when it came to protecting Dalrae.
Rani had so many secrets, most of which were dangerous to anyone and everyone who heard them. Maybe that was also why she was determined to make sure nothing happened to Dalrae.
"My hair is messy, help me put it in a bun," Dalrae suddenly said and Rania looked at the woman like she was insane. Dalrae could always put up her bun in a more perfect way than Rania ever could, and yet she was asking Rania to help her out?
"Are you high right now?" Rania asked incredulously.
"I won’t get up until you make my bun. We can wait out the time before you become a rogue and watch me fight every wolf who tries to lay a finger on you. Or you can put my hair in a bun as we go eat whatever your Odelia troll left us," Dalrae pouted and Rania just nodded.
"Yes ma’am. Bun it is," Rania said with a laugh as she struggled to help Dalrae with her bun. She would miss her a lot once she was gone, dammit.
