Chapter 63: Leaving

"It might not come true if I tell you," he changed his mind leaning away.

"Will you tell me yours if I tell you mine?" he asked and she shook her head.

"It’s a secret then." Davian concluded. They shared a small laugh and continued walking.

’Should I tell him now?’ Silvia thought. What other time was right when she’ll be leaving soon?

"Davian..." she started, quite aware that it might spoil the mood.

"Yes, wife?" he grinned at her and she bit her lower lip. She also liked how it sounded from him.

"I’m leaving." she said anyway. She saw as his happy expression slowly turned into a confused one.

"Huh? What do you mean? I never suspected you were sick," he started examining her worriedly. Her face fell;

"Not leaving this world! I’m not sick," she corrected him.

"Oh," he laughed.

"Then what did you mean?" he asked seriously.

"I’ll be going out of the country for a business trip," she explained.

"Oh... okay. How long?" he asked. His tone changed to a sad one, as if he was already missing her before she even left.

"Two weeks," she replied.

Two weeks? That long?!

"Okay." he responded.

"When are you leaving?" he asked calmly.

"The day after tomorrow," she responded.

He nodded.

...

"You’re leaving?" Cia’s said via the group video call she was doing with Silvia and Olivia. She was at the hospital but less busy.

Olivia and Silvia were both at home.

"Yes, tomorrow." Silvia confirmed.

"No...we didn’t even get to meet in person before you leave," Cia pouted.

"C’mon it’s not the first time, but I’m still going to miss her though," Olivia uttered.

"I know but we haven’t seen each other for some while now and we’re too preoccupied to even meet in person," Cia said and tsk.

"Would you be back in time for my wedding?" Olivia asked.

"It’s not until after two weeks right?" Silvia responded and Olivia nodded.

"Hey Olivia. How are things going?" Cia added.

"(Sighs) It’s going fine I guess," Olivia replied.

"I can’t believe I’m going to be the only single lady in the crew now. But I don’t know if I prefer remaining single than being in you duo’s shoes." Cia expressed referring to their marriages. It wasn’t based on love, was that better than being single?

Silvia forced a smile.

"He confessed to me," Silvia told them for the first time since Davian confessed his feelings to her.

"W-What?" Cia responded already understanding what Silvia was talking about. She knew it, she’d always suspected he had feelings for her.

"Who? Confessed? Confessed what?" Olivia inquired not getting the memo.

"Davian. He has feelings for me," Silvia stated.

"Wow," Olivia responded.

"How did you react to it? When did he confess his feelings to you?" Cia bombarded Silvia with questions.

"On our wedding night," she bit her lower lip as her cheeks heat up remembering what had occurred on that night.

"What did you say? What are you going to do now?" Cia continued.

"Cia...I told him we should stick to our previous contract agreement because I think that’s what’s best for the both of us," Silvia informed. Cia shook her head, she didn’t have anything to say...this friend of hers!

"Well, I don’t want to talk about it. What about you, Cia? Anything interesting finally happened?" Silvia added and Cia snickered.

Her mind drift off to Fi. Anything interesting...

"Nope. Nothing interesting happened in my boring life lately. Bye girls, I have a patient to check on." Cia responded, hanging up on her own end of the video call.

She sighed staring at her ceiling.

She stood up soon, she didn’t lie about having a patient to check on.

...

Cia parked her car at her house’s driveway. She got out of it and walked off to her house once she’d made sure the doors and windows of her car were locked.

Things has been really hectic at work these days. Ah, she needs some serious beauty sleep.

She opened her door and walked in.

"Ah!" she screamed when she turned on the lights and saw Fi on her couch, sitting so majestically with his legs crossed.

"Hey doc," he grinned at her.

"What... W-What the hell are you doing here? H-How did you even get in?" she stuttered.

"You forgot to lock your sliding doors as usual, clumsy doc," he smirks at her.

"What? I did...ah," she shuts her eyes touching her forehead. He smiled;

"You don’t look too happy to see me," he said.

"Of course not! It’s creepy," she replied and he laughed standing up.

"Did I scare you that much?" he smiled walking closer to her, she didn’t move away.

"I’m happy to see you. I missed you that’s why I’m here, didn’t you miss me?" he asked.

To her surprise, she did.

"Let me take you out," he requested.

"W-What? It’s getting late," she replied.

"It’s just past seven," he stated.

"I want to pay you back for saving my life," he added.

"You already did and there’s really no need," she commented.

"That’s just flowers, I want to do something more. Let’s just watch a movie together, then grab a quick drink- On me. Please?" he insisted and she nodded reluctantly after some while.

Why didn’t she say no to him? She wanted to spend time with him too though she barely knew him.

"Let me just get changed." she said and walked upstairs.

She soon came down after taking a quick shower. She’d changed into a top and a jean trouser. He smiled when he saw her.

He held her hand and brought her out of the house once she shut her doors.

He brought her towards his motorbike, which was black in color making it to successfully camouflaged with the dark as it was parked at the dark corner of her driveway. She was too tired to have even noticed it.

"Hope you aren’t scared to ride on a bike?" Fi asked and she shook her head.

He collected his spare helmet for her. She opened her hand requesting to wear it herself but he ignored her as he wore it on her. Her brown eyes met his grey ones.

He smiled and hopped on the bike, she hopped on too and held the back of the bike for support. He snickered;

His hands went to hers and he brought it to his waist, "Hold on tight." he told and she did so.

He started the bike, her hands grabbed unto his waist even tighter at the speed that he rode with.

They first of all went to the movie theater as said earlier. They bought the movie tickets of the movie they decided to watch and some popcorn.

They took their seats and enjoyed the movie together.

Cia turned her head towards Fi, his eyes were already so focused on her instead of the movie.

"I love this movie, I’ve already watched it twice now," she started.

"You’ve already seen it? Then why did you say we should watch it again?" he questioned.

"Because I love the movie," she smiled diverting her attention back to the movie. He chuckled as he shook his head.

Once the movie was over, they drove off on the bike again, heading for a bar. Cia smiled in the helmet, she leaned on Fi’s back as she savoured the cool air that blew on her.

They arrived at a bar.

"I won’t drink much, okay?" she informed removing the helmet as she got off the bike after he parked it.

"I know, just one drink," he responded taking the helmet from her.

They walked into the bar and sat down on the high stools at the bar counter.

"Whiskey..." Fi trails off as he gazed at Cia.

"I’ll have a martini," Cia said.

"Okay, would you like ice in your whiskey?" one of the bar attendants at the bar counter, asked Fi.

"Yes." Fi responded.

Their drinks were served to them soon. They stared at each other awkwardly as they sipped from their drinks contemplating on how to start a conversation.

"I have so many questions about you," she started.

"Me too. There’s still a lot I don’t know about you yet I don’t know where to begin," he replied.

"Let’s not discuss it whole for just one night then," she suggested.

"Yes, let’s find out gradually. But right now, I just want to stare into those beautiful brown eyes of yours," he replied dreamily, tilting his head a little bit to the side.

She smiled at his words, a blush starting to appear on her cheeks. His hand reach out for her face but then a man came between them. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"Hey beautiful," the man smiled at Cia.

’The hell! Does this man have a death wish or something?!’ Fi thought.

Cia didn’t respond.

"Hey?! Can’t you see she’s with me?" Fi sneered.

"Relax bro... I’m just trying to shoot my shot at the woman that caught my eyes." the man responded.

"But as you can see I’m clearly with someone," Cia tried to intervene.

"Well, may the best man win you over sweetheart," the man winked at her and that just cut off the last strands of patience Fi had with him.

Fi stood up and grabbed the man by the collar, he punched him. The impact of the punch sent the man almost falling. Cia stood up too, the man regained his balance and some of his goons pointed their guns at them. The bar became rowdy all of a sudden, with the fear of a pending shoot out.

Fi ran his hand on his neat long shoulder length blonde hair, bringing it backwards as he glared at them, the only thing holding him back was Cia’s grip on his arm.

The man laughed;

"Why don’t we start this all over again, shall we?" he grinned at them.
