Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 62: Wish for
"What the hell are you talking about? Why would I do that-"
"Cut the act dad," Silvia cuts Alan off.
"Now I won’t have you talk to me like that, young woman. What if I did, huh? It’s all for your own good," Alan replied.
"I never asked for it dad. Stop it! Just please stop it! Don’t monitor my husband, don’t monitor my love life, just stop it! I’m married now as you wanted and to a man that I love. Now can you let me enjoy my marriage life in peace?!" Silvia raged.
She glared at her father one last time before storming out the same way she storm in.
"Really Alan? How can you do such a thing? You have no right to do that," Janet chastised.
"Hey enough, okay? You both should stop making it look like I did something so wrong-"
"Of course you did!" Janet interrupted him.
"I was only looking out for my daughter. Now if that’s something wrong, then...tsk," Alan replied.
"Alright then, but please Alan. Davian is a good person, I know that. You have nothing to worry about so please stop bugging their love life," Janet told and walked out as well.
Alan tsk again.
That stupid good for nothing Randolph! He couldn’t even get any useful information against that man yet he got himself caught. How did that even happen?
He better not show his face to him anymore.
He sighed; Maybe that Davian guy really is clean. But he wouldn’t relax just yet.
***
"Are you ready?" Davian asked Silvia who nodded.
She decided to go see the new location of 3D today, also because of a reason she was yet to tell Davian. She was finding it hard to tell him but she has to, she will tell him later before the day ends.
"Are you sure you don’t want to take a coat with you? It’s rather cold today," Davian denoted.
"I’m fine, Davian," she replied.
"Okay." he responded putting on a fury coat.
"Shall we?" he added.
They soon arrived there.
They got out of Davian’s car once he’d parked it at the parking lot.
"Well what’s your take on the surroundings first?" Davian inquired with expecting eyes.
"It’s nice, neat and professional for any firm- Not like I’m saying the last place wasn’t...it was okay too but this is better..." Silvia explained and only trailed off when he started to chuckle.
"I understand you, Silvia. You don’t have to give so much explanations," he said.
"Let’s go in." he added.
They started walking towards the building which was large and most part of it were made of glass.
They greeted the security and doormen before walking into the building.
"Hello Mr. Randell...welcome Ms." the receptionist greeted them.
"She’s my wife, Silvia," Davian smiled proudly.
"Oh, sorry...I had no idea. Welcome Mrs Randell," the receptionist corrected, Silvia just smiled and nodded at her.
They continued walking till they got to a double elevator. Davian pushed the button of one and they entered once it opened.
"The lobby?" he smiled inquiring from her.
"Elegant," she put all her impressions of it in that one word. He nodded;
"And what about her? What do you think of the place’s receptionist?" Davian questioned.
"Uhm, she’s friendly and professional at the same time." Silvia responded.
"Cool. Uhm, the first floor we just left is only what it is, the reception. Another floor is being occupied by a firm who specializes in architecture. While 3D occupies the whole of the top floor. I think we’re only two occupants," he elaborated and Silvia just nodded.
"Why advertising?" she asked after some while.
"What?" Davian responded.
"I mean, what drawn you to it?" she added.
Davian smiled, this was the first time she was asking him this.
"First of all, I love programming and it’s my dream to own my own programming firm. I studied computer science and thought advertisement- Why not?
"As you have already known, Ms. Reyes from our previous applications. Our firm touches every aspects that involves advertising to make sure your info or product reaches the general public. Even the dark alleys," Davian added the last part which made them laugh.
The elevator opened and they walked out, Davian led the way as they continued walking along a hallway.
Silvia was in thoughts. 3D was good at what it does, what if she had hired them at that time for the advertisement job? Would things have turned out differently?
She shook her head, there’s no need thinking about it and it was making her feel a little bad for not hiring them all because they were about to go under at that time.
"What’s wrong?" she heard Davian say.
"Nothing. I’m just feeling a little...(Sighs) am I suppose to be here?" she asked him. He smiled and held her shoulders.
"I know what you’re thinking and feeling right now. I can tell and I anticipated you might if you come here, but please stop thinking about it, it’s all in the past now... let’s focus on the present, okay?" he urged and she nodded.
They started walking again.
"Why 3D then?" she asked, "Why did you name your firm 3D?" she added.
"Honestly I have forgotten. I think at that time it just popped up," he chuckled.
"What? Do you want me to name it after you?" he asked staring at her.
"Nope, the name is okay. I was just asking," she objected and he snickered.
They finally got to where 3D was truly occuping at the top floor, she didn’t go into the last space they were occuping and so she can’t quite compare them but this place was marvellous.
"Everyone? Meet Silvia, my wife," Davian grinned, he loved calling her that.
"Silvia, meet our new employees...Greg, Jay and Brenda," Davian introduced two guys and a young girl who looked like an intern.
The trio greeted them.
"And you already know that crew," he added referring to his previous employees and friends.
They welcomed her, Silvia nodded as acceptance to their greetings.
"Welcome ’Ms. Reyes’, coffee?" Becca asked, purposely using and emphasizing on ’Ms. Reyes’.
"No, I’m fine." Silvia replied.
"Okay, what brought you here then?" Becca asked, forcing a smile. She didn’t get why this woman has to come here today.
"She’s my wife and she hasn’t seen 3D’s new establishment. It’s not a crime to show her, is it?" Davian responded instead to prevent any bickering as he could already see the way Silvia was starting to glare at her.
He grabbed Silvia’s hand.
"Come, let me show you to my office," Davian told and walked off with Silvia.
"So what do you think?" he asked her once they got to his office.
"Your office is nice. I gotta give it all to the interior designer," she replied and he chuckled.
"And to you...this place..." she trails off giving him a thumbs up.
"I didn’t expect less though," she added.
"Tell me Davian, why haven’t you fired your secretary yet?" Silvia asked and he laughed.
"I can’t do that, she’s good at what she does and she’s a friend but I guess she still dislikes you," he replied.
"Well the feeling is mutual," Silvia responded.
"(Scoffs) I really hope you both can get along someday. I don’t want any of my friends to dislike the woman that I love," Davian expressed. His eyes widened a little when he realized what he just said. His hand went to the back of his neck as he laughs awkwardly.
"Uh, that just came out." he defended himself, though he meant every word.
"Are you hungry? Let’s go get some good meal down street all on me, I’m famished," he suggested.
"Uhm..." Silvia contemplated on it.
"Is it really something to think about? Let’s eat together, it’s not a date," he smirked at her.
He spoke again in a low tone; "Or is it against the contract?"
She shook her head, this man.
"No, it’s not. I wasn’t even thinking about it that way, let’s go then," she shrugged.
So they left the building to go get some food at a restaurant nearby where they had a quick but delicious meal.
They walked out of the restaurant when they were done. They didn’t take the car as the restaurant was not too far from the firm. They began to stroll back slowly, in silence.
"Wait a minute, what’s this?" Davian questioned breaking the silence, they stopped walking. A smile appeared on his face as he picked up something from her hair, his eyes went upwards.
"Snow? It’s finally snowing, Silvia," Davian announced. Her eyes went upwards as well, it was true. Light snowflakes were falling from the sky.
She rubbed on her shoulders, so that’s why it was extremely cold today. On second thoughts she should have listened to Davian and wore a coat, now it was getting even colder.
"Here," Davian offered his coat taking it off.
"No you don’t have to-" she was cut short as he had already wore it over her.
It’s her fault for not listening, he doesn’t have to get cold all because of her.
"It’s okay. You have it, I’ll be fine. We’re almost at the firm anyway," he uttered. He plucked out a single white flower which attracted his eyes from a flower bush nearby.
He turned towards Silvia and tucked it neatly in her hair. He tilted his head a little bit to the side.
"Why are you so beautiful, Silvia Reyes?" he blurted out, her cheeks turned red at his words. His hand brought some hair to the back of her ears.
"Do you know how lucky we are today?" he asked and she creased her brows in puzzle.
"We were able to be outside when the first snow of the year fell. It fell on us and it’s like a shooting star, it will make our wish come true," he explained and she chuckled. She doesn’t believe in that.
"Let’s make a wish together. Shut your eyes and make a wish with faith," he persisted and she did so.
He smiled at her as she shuts her eyes to make her wish, he too soon did the same.
They opened their eyes and smiled at each other.
"What did you wish for?" she asked and she saw as he moved closer to her, leaning towards her a little as if he wanted to whisper.
"I wished for..."
