Chapter 184: Playing Tag With Ronan

Ronan, who was almost asleep, opened his eyes wide. An idea flashed through his head and then he got up enthusiastically making Arielle back away in surprise because the man was staring at her so close that their noses touched.

Arielle’s eyes widened even more when she saw the wolf ears that suddenly appeared above the man’s head. Arelle also pulled her hand back when something soft caressed her hand and saw a feathery tail resting on her lap.

"Eh? Th-this isn’t the full moon?" asked Arielel starting to panic.

Ronan smiled widely with sparkling eyes.

"Shall we play tag now?"

"Huh?"

Ronan grabbed Arielle’s face and then kissed the girl long. After that, he broke free and laughed, leaving Arielle, who didn’t understand Ronan’s enthusiastic attitude.

When Ronan got out of bed, the man took off all his clothes until nothing was left. He looked back with a big smile.

"I’ll count to a hundred, if you don’t hide I’ll pounce on you," the man said, making Arielle widen her eyes.

Instantly Ronan’s body grew, and the man turned into a giant wolf with jet black fur.

"Ready? One two .... I count to a hundred Arielle,"

Ronan’s voice ringing in her head made Arielle rush out of her room with a big smile. Her adrenaline spiked, and she raced for a safe hiding place.

Arielle ran out of the room quickly. While on the run, she bumped into a servant, and both fell down to the ground.

"Your Highness, w-what’s wrong?" asked the maid in a panic.

Arielle just opened her mouth to explain, but Ronan’s voice rang in her head.

"Arelle I’m still counting. Have you found a safe hiding place yet?" the man asked.

"Oh, I’m sorry!"

Arielle immediately got up and apologized. Without answering, the girl just sped away. She could hear the man’s chuckle in her head. Arielle descended the stairs quickly. She ignored Lucas, who happened to come out of another room.

"Princess?" Lucas asked, confused because this was the first time for him that Arielle didn’t return his greeting.

The girl seemed to be in a hurry. Had something happened? The curious Lucas moved towards the balcony and saw Arielle moving swiftly through the palace gardens.

The girl paused for a moment, then looked around the palace garden. Lucas’s brows furrowed more when he saw Arielle, who had taken steps towards the Cathedral, turned around so fast and ran back in the direction of the Blackthorn Palace.

"Perhaps Princess Arielle received a summon from the king?" Lucas asked, then turned around to do his last assignment before he could rest for the night.

Arielle entered the Blackthorn Palace with a gasp. She didn’t have many options for hiding, so she ran toward Ronan’s study. Suddenly, the girl stopped in her tracks.

"No. That place is too obvious. I’ll have to find a much more secluded place," she muttered.

When Arielle passed Ronan’s study, suddenly the door to the king’s study opened wide. Arielle, whose adrenaline was pumping, screamed in surprise when she saw Lazarus with a bruised face. The man looked still very drunk and muttered something that Arielle couldn’t hear.

"Oh? Princess... what.. hic... are you... hic... doing? You... hic... want to see me?" asked Lazarus with a hiccup.

Arielle shook her head quickly and ran away from Lazarus.

"Oh?" Lazarus watched Arielle leave in confusion. Seeing Arielle’s dress fluttering made Lazarus smile widely with a flushed face.

"Hehehe... hic.. are we...hic.. playing tag, Princess?" he asked half-consciously. "Hide well... Princess.. hic... I will catch you... then we will get married... hehehe..."

Lazarus staggered slightly towards Arielle, who was running. His head was still dizzy, looking at the swaying road. His entire vision was a little blurry, and he shook his head to wake himself.

At the end of the hall was an empty room that had never been touched. Arielle opened the door and closed it back. She looked around and found there was no furniture filled the room. Only a large semicircular glass window near the floor allowed Arielle to see the back of the Blackthorn Palace.

Arielle was sure Ronan wouldn’t be looking for her all the way here. The girl closed her eyes, trying to hear Ronan’s voice still ringing in her head.

"85... 86... 87?"

KNOCK

KNOCK

"Huh?"

Arielle straightened herself and looked towards the entrance. Ronan’s count hadn’t even finished yet, but someone knocked on the door already? Who? Or maybe someone else will use this room besides her?

Arielle sighed in disappointment, her time to find a new hiding place was almost up. But she also could not force her will to interfere with other people’s work.

The girl decided quickly to hide in Ronan’s room after this. It was the closest place Arielle could find in such a short amount of time. Arielle approached the door and then opened it.

"Lazarus?" asked Arielle, surprised to see Lazarus, who was half asleep leaning against the door.

Hearing his name being called, Lazarus lifted his face and smiled broadly.

"Hehehe... I found you, Princess! Now... hic. My turn to hide," he said shamelessly.

Arielle ignored Lazarus, who spoke incoherently. She walked past the man and ran away from Lazarus, who stumbled into the room.

"Oh? You still want to hide?"

Arielle stepped on her feet frantically. Her heart was beating faster. Ronan’s voice was still ringing in her head. She looked back and frowned when she saw Lazarus, who also quickened his pace, running towards her. Arielle was getting panicked! She had forgotten her purpose of hiding in Ronan’s room.

"Lazarus! Don’t come after me!" shouted Arielle, who didn’t want Lazarus to come near.

"But we’re playing tag, aren’t we?"

"Haish..."

"100! Ready or not? I will find you, sweetheart."

Arielle saw the guards on guard staring at her in confusion. Likewise, some of the maids who saw Arielle started to sweat. Lazarus was getting closer, and Arielle didn’t have a lot of time. She didn’t know how long it would take Ronan to check all the places in Whitethorn Palace.

Arielle immediately dodged when Lazarus reached out to grab her. The girl stepped outside and looked around carefully. Getting to the Cathedral would take a long time. Then she looked at the Colosseum.

"I’ll hide there," Arielle muttered.

Arielle’s adrenaline was getting even more excited when she heard a chuckling sound in her head. The girl took long strides towards the Colosseum.
