Elias felt his consciousness being devoured, until everything went dark.

He couldn’t feel any pain, or any sensation within his body. He thought that this was the end. But that feeling didn’t last for long, as he started to feel as if someone were flashing a bright light in his face.

He slowly opened his eyes and saw that he was no longer surrounded by darkness or glitching red screens. Instead, he was seated upright, his back resting against something solid and smooth.

He blinked, trying to clear the blurriness from his vision, and the world slowly returned to focus. He found himself sitting on a throne that was floating in an endless night sky.

He could see many meteorites flying past him, but none of them dared to approach him as he remained seated like an overlord. Not far from him, there was a moon that didn’t need to rely on any sun to shine brightly.

"Is this another transmigration?" Elias rubbed his forehead, finding the entire situation confusing. He was sure that he had been on the verge of complete destruction. So how did he end up here?

"What are you doing here?!" Elias was still lost in thought when he heard a loud shout coming from the distance.

The voice felt so familiar that even without looking in that direction, he knew who was speaking. It was the voice of the Constellation that had snatched his body.

He turned toward Astralious and saw that person standing in the distance, his entire body tied in some kind of chains that kept him in place.

"Did you also come to this next life with me?" Elias asked Astralious. He wanted to stand up and approach him, but he was somewhat scared.

He was on a floating throne, so he was stable. But if he got off the throne, could he still walk properly? He was not on the ground, after all.

"Next life?! What foolish thing are you talking about? This is not the next life! This is my first life... The life of the night sky," Astralious exclaimed as he fiercely resisted against the chains, trying to free himself.

Unfortunately for him, he was trapped in those chains. Even if he wanted to free himself, he couldn’t do so. Despite being a constellation, he couldn’t resist the shackles of an unknown force that was stronger than that of a constellation.

"Your first life?" Elias’s brows rose, as he tried to understand what was happening. Had he travelled back to the past? Or it was just him experiencing the memories of the constellation?

He was sure that it was something that was done during the fragmentation of his consciousness. Was it the last attempt of his mind to protect his core, by letting him hide in other people’s memories that it could find?

"I can vaguely understand why I am here. But what are you doing here?" Elias asked, Astralious, as he finally stepped down from the throne.

If these were the memories, then he was sure that he wasn’t going to fall down. In the memories, he was more or less protected. Just as he guessed, he was able to stand on empty space, like a person walking on air.

He didn’t approach Astralious like last time, and only walked around the throne, looking at the scenery that was beyond his imagination. This was the sight that not many could experience, especially without being inside some spaceship.

"Shouldn’t you be controlling my body, and trying to escape from the Land of Fables?" He stood behind the throne, resting both his arms on it.

"Are you trying to pretend? I was forcefully pulled here and trapped. Release me this instant!" Astralious raged, fiercely pulling his arms which made the chains clank.

He wanted his freedom, but at the same time, he didn’t want anyone else to see his past either. It was a past that was embarrassing for him, as he had died, despite being a constellation.

"Remind me again, what was the point of you taking my body, if we were both to be trapped here in the end?" Elias sarcastically asked, feeling surprisingly calm in a situation like this.

He could accept that his body was snatched, as long as the person who did it hated the same people that he hated. He had accepted his death. But here they were, trapped, although in different ways.

"Please tell me you killed Harbinger before being pulled here?" he asked, thinking of the worst possibility.

If both their consciousness were in this place, that meant his body was no different than a lifeless doll. If Harbinger was still alive, then there was no point in trying to think of a way to escape from this place.

Even if his consciousness was able to escape, there was no point if the body itself was destroyed by a fable.

"Who do you think I am? I killed her instantly," Astralious answered, but not because he was asked a question by Elias. It was mainly because that question felt disrespectful to his abilities.

"That is good news then. As long as no other fable finds the body, then there’s a possibility of returning," Elias mumbled, realizing that this might be for the best.

Astralious was trapped here. As long as he could find a way out of this place, he could return to some semblance of normalcy. Moreover, once he was back in his body, he could simply extract Astralious from it with precise Extraction, erasing that threat forever.

Unfortunately, things weren’t as simple. He was here for a reason after all. And that reason was for his own safety.

He started pacing back and forth, wondering if he had to break free from this place, or if it was safer to remain, since it might be for the protection of his consciousness.

"Oh, God of the Night Sky! Please save us!"

"Oh, God of the Night Sky! Please save us!"

Alias was lost in deep thought when he started hearing voices echoing all around him.

"Hmm?" He raised his head and saw many small portals opening around him, revealing worlds where people were praying to the God of Night Sky. But all these prayers seemed to be coming to him.

"Are they praying to you?" Elias asked Astralious. "You must have been quite popular when you were alive."

Astralious simply clicked his tongue, his expressions growing darker as he lowered his head in helplessness.

Meanwhile, Elias looked through one of the portals and saw a place where thousands of people had gathered, praying. The scene looked very normal, as he had also come from a world where praying was common.

Unfortunately, the normalcy didn’t last long as hundreds of beasts rushed into the crowd and started killing. The entire place was painted red with blood, but even in their last breaths, the people of that world prayed and begged to be saved.
