Legendary Architect of Apocalypse-Chapter 77: Forced Merger
Since there was no escaping the Harbinger, Elias made up his mind to do something drastic. It was something that even he would’ve advised himself against if he had any other choice.
Instead of running in the other direction, he started running in the direction that he had come from, going back toward the Harbinger.
Even as the surroundings were shrouded in a cloud of dust, the Harbinger could see through everything clearly. After she had cut the Beast of Decay in two, she started paying attention to Elias, who was trying to get away.
She wasn’t in any hurry to catch Elias, as she wanted to give him some hope that he could escape.
Only when he was filled with hope could she crush it beneath her feet, just like the students of the Dimensional Academy did. She had no pity or sympathy for a child, as all of them were the same kind of people to her.
It came as a surprise to her when things didn’t go as per her plans. Instead of running away and becoming relieved that he had gotten far away from her, Elias landed on the ground.
Through the dust, she could see everything clearly. When she saw the jet moving away, she started smirking as she understood their plan of distraction. It also worked out in her favor, as it could make Elias even more confident.
Once again, cold water was poured over her assumption as the jet disappeared. Moreover, instead of running away, Elias started running in her direction.
She wanted the child to have hope of survival, so that she could crush it, but he didn’t seem like he was trying to run away in the first place.
Even after seeing a glimpse of her strength, he was running toward her. The Harbinger landed on the ground with a frown, still holding onto the heavy sword.
"Did that child already realize that it’s useless to run? Or is he scheming something?" She wasn’t certain what was going through Elias’s mind at the moment as he ran toward her.
There was no way he could defeat her. Only newly recruited Students of the Dimensional Academy were sent to the Land of Fables, after all.
Moreover, Elias was a child who was much younger than the Dimensional Academy Student who had destroyed her world. The student who had killed her had clearly gone through at least his second evolution, which was impossible for someone as young as Elias.

....
The dust had completely settled by the time Elias reached the Harbinger, who stood before her Heavy Sword that was thrust halfway into the ground.
"Have you come to beg for your life?" she asked Elias, who had been running for a long time.
Despite his long run, Elias’s breathing was extremely stable, as if his stamina were limitless. Even he would have been surprised by it, if he weren’t immersed in other thoughts.
"I am not naive enough to believe you will let me live if I beg." Elias stepped closer to the Harbinger, a sharp change to their first meeting, where he had tried to distance himself from her.
He stopped only when he was within five meters of her. He glanced beside him, where the other half of the Beast of Decay was lying. It appeared like a mountain that was within arm’s reach.
"Have you come to accept your death, then?" the Harbinger asked, pulling the Heavy Sword from the ground. Although she was uncertain of Elias’s intentions, she didn’t believe he posed a threat.
It was clear that he was a weak child who had exhausted all his options. He was simply here because he didn’t want to run from the inevitable.
"In that case, I will grant you a quick death." She approached him, without waiting for his answer. The moment she was within ten feet of Elias, she raised her sword as if it was as light as a feather in her grip, and aimed it at Elias’s chest.
"If you want to blame anything, blame your luck for becoming a Destroyer," she said, as the top of her sword slowly started penetrating his flesh, painting his white overcoat red slowly.
She was giving him a slow death, just like the death that her world had been granted at the hands of the Academy’s Demons.
"Do you know what happened to the last person that asked me to blame others for my eventual death?" Elias felt the sharp pain as the heavy sword was slowly entering his chest.
He raised his left hand, and touched the heavy sword, but he didn’t have the strength to stop it. Strangely enough, it didn’t seem like he had any intentions for that either. He also raised his right hand, and touched the Beast of Decay.
Even though he seemed somewhat scared of the outside that might appear because of his plans, he didn’t hesitate in the slightest.
He knew that running away from that woman was useless. He had already run out of materials to change the status quo significantly. In that case, the one way to survive was to get some new materials. And this time, he wanted to use that material on himself.
"Confirm Advance Merger," he mumbled under his breath, using his upgraded ability for the first time that allowed him to merge with even the incompatible materials.
He didn’t know the consequences of merging with incompatible materials, but he didn’t have time to care about it. As long as things weren’t drastic, he could always extract them. But if he died here, he could never return to life. The choice was clear.
The moment he confirmed the Advanced Merger, a forced merger was initiated with the materials that he had selected. And those materials didn’t just include the Bones of the Beast of Decay, but also the sword of Harbinger, which held the essence of her own fable.
A powerful storm rose with Elias at the core, and sent to Harbinger flying away. She couldn’t even hold onto her sword that was left stabbed in Elias’ chest.
