Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 358: No pets.
Meihua’s peacock dress cost six million. Jingzhe did not feel the pinch of the expense. He was not lying to Meihua. He had waited his whole life to spend money on Mei Mei like as if he was drinking water.
Nobody understood how difficult it was to date a financially strong woman like Meilin whose parents were both individually wealthy.
Everything he could give her, she could afford.
Him spending money on her and her friend would score him some pointers. He had seen the secret smile on her face when he told Meihua and Siping that he was covering their bills tonight.
It reminded him of a rule in the book of the art of cooking green tea.
"Always show that you are more capable than your competitor. If you are not, fake it till you make it."
He was showing off his capabilities and he did not even need to fake it now.
Mei Mei appeared next in a black lace gown over deep smooth silk, with long gloves on her hands, a train that trailed like a shadow. In her right hand was a lace umbrella. She looked like a vampire queen from a goth era.
Jingzhe stood up and clapped his hands. "We are taking this one too."
Sipping shuddered. "It reminds me of something...I don’t know what but I think that I have seen this image in a textbook somewhere."
Meihua snorted. "Black wedding dress!! Is your wedding venue a graveyard?" She stomped her foot. "Dammit, you look gorgeous Meilin and I hate you."
She turned around and went to find her next gown that would make her look more outstanding.
"Someone better find out what dresses Si Zai has chosen because if I have the same dresses as her on my special days, heads will roll." She shouted.
Three people rushed out, making phone calls and contacting others in the same industry to find out where Si Zai was getting her wedding dresses from.
They tried on more dresses, two each and on the sixth one, Meihua who was sure that she had found the perfect dress jumped in excitement, knocking over a glass of champagne.
It splashed on the couch were some veils were resting.
A manager screamed. "The Veils of Purity! Save them, hurry up, They were hand-stitched by blind nuns in the Alps!"
Jingzhe drew his head back. "If they were blind, I doubt that they did the stitching. Perhaps we should call the police and save them from what sounds like a suspicious situation."
Mei Mei covered Jingzhe’s mouth with one hand. She was certain that the manager of the bridal shop would love to take the gigantic scissors in his hands and plunge them in Jingzhe’s throat.
The way he was looking at her boyfriend said so.
"I will pay for the veils." Siping volunteered. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"No." Meihua shouted. "My darling pays for nothing. My besties are covering the bill today. And they are taking us out for dinner. In turn, we can buy them new chairs for their house."
Mei Mei groaned. "My chairs do not need an upgrade Meihua."
"I disagree." Meihua insisted.
The dresses they had chosen were delivered. They all had four dresses each and Mei Mei was not sure why she had four wedding dresses or why Meihua had chosen the cloud dress.
Meihua also took the nanite dress and the diamond meteor dress. Both of which would make her stand out on her special days.
Mei Mei took the mermaid dress, she planned to wear it on Meihua’s engagement.
The men were measured and promised matching suits or complementary one which would be delivered in three days.
The couples left the bridal shop, smiles on their faces. They had spent two hours shopping and yet they were not exhausted.
They moved to the Tao foods eatery and sat down for dinner. The conversation immediately picked up, starting from the engagement which was only five days away.
"Have you chosen a venue?" Mei Mei asked Meihua and Siping.
"My family’s hotel." Meihua said in a voice that said the choice was obvious.
Mei Mei frowned. "Isn’t that a little too expected? I have a fairyland at my camp which I have not yet opened to the public. I think it would be the perfect place for your engagement."
Meihua gasped. "The...the...Hollow!!"
Mei Mei shrugged. "My camp, not the Hollow." She rolled her eyes. "I am not suggesting that you hold your engagement beside a garbage dump in a slum. Stop being so dramatic."
Meihua shuddered. "Your camp is lovely sweetie but it is still in an undesirable part of the empire. And I know that a lot of changes are happening over there but...." she shuddered again.
Mei Mei sighed. "You are snob."
"Yes I am." Meihua admitted. "And I am not having my engagement on Jun territory. It will be overrun by all your pets. I do not want live animals at the ceremony and I am putting that in the invitations."
"Why?" Mei Mei asked her.
"Because pets have ruined every wedding, engagement or birthday I have been to in the last three years. You saw that dog dragging off the little girl that was crying on stage on the National Liberation Day Celebrations.
At Zhilan’s engagement party, your family’s Black Guard knocked over a champagne tower because it smelled drugs on one of the guests.
He had one pill!!! The dog dragged him around the room, knocking guests over and sending the cake flying. It did not stop until it delivered him to Jun Mingzhe who arrested him."
Mei Mei wanted to defend Black guard but found she could not. That was overkill.
"And there is Lady Mu’s anniversary." Meihua added as the food was brought for them. "At the renewal of her vows last year, she decided that bull dog would be the ring bearer. Thirteen grandchildren and she chose the dog!!! It saw Lady Jian Yu’s duck and launched itself at it.
The ring flew somewhere, the duck leaped on the guests heads as it tried to escape. Lady Mu was screaming and crying. Their family was running after the dog which is named Popsicle by the way. Who names a dog Popsicle?"
"My mother would." Mei Mei replied.
Meihua shook her head.
Dinner was served and as Meihua lifted her hands, she continued narrating the disastrous effects of having live animals at weddings.
"Cai Leyan. She decided to have an outdoor nature themed wedding." Her face showed disapproval "They brought goats to the event for ambience. One of the goats chewed the groom’s handwritten vows and the others ate the flowers.
It was chaos Mei Mei.
Mrs. Yan brought her ferrets to little Ai Lina’s one hundredth day banquet and they burrowed into the cake and stepped all over the desserts.
I like animals but I do not want them at my events. I hope everybody will respect my choice."
