Chapter 191: Bond Rings

"Y-You saw your old world inside his mind?" Luan asked in confusion after Roxanna explained that the reason her connection with Aelin had suddenly been cut off was because she had entered a different dimension.

"Yes and... it’s actually more complicated than you think," Roxanna said.

She then told them everything that had happened in her old house. She also explained that Calen was actually the reincarnation of her dog.

"He’s really a dog?" Cyrus frowned. "For some reason, I’m not even surprised. He acts like a dog sometimes."

"Hey, what do you mean by that?" Calen protested, clearly offended. He hadn’t expected Cyrus to insult him like that. "At least I’ve seen the real her!"

The moment Calen said those words, the atmosphere in the room changed. The others’ expressions darkened. For a brief second, some of them even thought about locking Calen inside a small room and forcing him to tell them everything he knew about Roxanna’s old world, including what her old face looked like.

Roxanna, who could sense their jealousy, immediately said, "You don’t need to worry. My old face looks very similar to my current one!"

She added, "The only difference is that I used to have brunette hair and hazel eyes."

[It’s such a pity I don’t have a picture of my old face, so I can’t show it to my husbands.] Roxanna thought sadly. [And the photos I saw inside Calen’s mind can’t be brought into the real world.]

Then suddenly, a thought flashed across her mind. [Oh, wait... I do have a childhood picture! My mother brought it into this world!]

Cyrus and Luan already knew about it, but the rest of them hadn’t had the chance to learn about Michaela’s existence yet.

"Wait, here!" Roxanna said excitedly. "I have something I want to show you."

She quickly ran toward the things they had brought back from the Golden Mountain. Besides Michaela’s book, Elior had also allowed Roxanna to take the picture with her, since it technically belonged to her.

After searching for a while, Roxanna finally found the old photo. The paper had already faded with time. Smiling happily, she returned to the living room and showed it to her husbands.

"This is me when I was little!" Roxanna said proudly. "I know the costume doesn’t look very good, but... it’s still better than nothing!"

When she performed a dance at a christmas school event, she chose to wear a tree costume after all the girls in her class refused to use it.

No, it wasn’t because Roxanna thought she was different from the other girls or anything like that. It was simply because she didn’t have an adult who could help her get dressed if she chose to wear a Christmas dress, and she also didn’t want to trouble her teachers.

"You..." Zeir suddenly covered his mouth with one hand and stopped speaking. For a moment, he simply stared at the picture.

This was probably the first time Roxanna had ever seen Zeir look so stunned, as if he had just witnessed something unbelievable.

"What?" Roxanna asked, urging him to continue. "What do you think?"

[Do I look that bad?] Roxanna suddenly felt a little embarrassed for showing the picture to them. [Well... the costume really was terrible.]

Because she rarely ate nutritious food when she was young, Roxanna had been smaller than the other children her age.

As a result, the tree costume looked ridiculously big on her. It was so large that she had to tilt her head upward just so her face could appear through the small hole in the costume.

Zeir lowered his hand slowly, but his eyes were still fixed on the picture. "You were very cute," he finally said.

For a moment, the room fell silent.

Roxanna blinked in surprise. "Cute?"

She had been ready to hear him say that the costume looked ridiculous or embarrassing. But instead, Zeir looked as if he had just discovered something precious.

"Yes," Zeir said calmly. "Very cute."

His gaze softened as he continued looking at the picture. The small girl inside the oversized tree costume looked so tiny that it almost made his chest ache. Her face was round, and her eyes looked bright despite the awkward outfit.

"You look like a small forest spirit," Azul suddenly said from the other side. He gulped slightly as he stared at the picture. "I-If our kid is a girl, she might look as cute as you."

"The kid will probably look even cuter if they were my child," Luan added calmly. "But... as long as the child has sebagian dari Roxanna’s traits, I think that would already be enough."

In other words, Luan would love the child as long as the mother was Roxanna. As for the father... it didn’t seem to matter much to him.

"I..." Roxanna paused for a moment before speaking again. "I actually don’t really care what my children will look like. As long as they are my children, I will still love them."

She lowered her gaze slightly as she spoke inwardly. [I don’t want my child to feel lonely like I did in the past... or like my husbands once felt.]

Roxanna thought quietly. [If it’s possible, I truly want to raise them in a warm home.]

The room suddenly became much quieter after she said that. Her words were simple, but they carried a warmth that made everyone pause.

Roxanna noticed the silence and quickly waved her hands. "B-But we don’t need to talk about children right now!" she said hurriedly, her face turning red again. "I was just showing you my childhood picture!"

After all, every time they talked about children, Roxanna couldn’t help but feel as if her husbands were quietly waiting for their turn to have a child with her.

Well... it was probably normal since most beastmen were territorial by nature.

[But still, they always look like they want to strip me naked right now!]

All of her husbands quickly turned their eyes to the side and even blinked repeatedly because they hadn’t realized that they had been staring at her with that kind of gaze.

Before anyone could say anything, the system suddenly spoke in Roxanna’s mind.

[Ding! Ding!]

[The Bond Rings have been successfully crafted! Host can now take them out of the inventory!]

Oh, the bond rings!

Roxanna almost forgot about them. A while ago, she had asked the system to fuse the bond rings with the black crystal. Fortunately, she didn’t need to pay for the service for the six rings that she would be using herself.

"I actually have something for all of you too!" Roxanna said with a bright smile. "This item is very precious, so I hope you will take good care of it."

[Actually, it would feel better if I gave these rings in a romantic moment...] she thought.

[But I really can’t wait anymore. I want to give them the rings right now!]

[Besides, I’m not even sure my husbands know that people usually prepare something romantic when giving wedding rings.]

Wedding rings?

All of her husbands looked at each other in confusion. They had never heard that they needed to give something for marriage.

After all, when they married the evil Roxanna in the past, the only thing they received were the seal crystals placed around their necks.

"What is it?" Luan asked, mostly just to break the silence.

Roxanna kept smiling and said, "You have to close your eyes first."

Her husbands exchanged another confused glance, but they still followed her request. Slowly, one by one, they closed their eyes.

Roxanna took a small breath.

For a moment, she simply looked at them. Sitting in front of her were the five men who had stayed by her side through danger, pain, and everything in between. Her chest felt warm just thinking about it.

Without wasting any more time, Roxanna opened the system inventory and took out the rings.

Five rings appeared in her palm. Each one carried a faint glow from the black crystal fused inside them.

Roxanna leaned forward.

Gently, she took Luan’s hand first, and she could feel a slight tension in them, as if he was curious about what she was doing. Roxanna then carefully slid the ring onto his finger.

After that, she leaned forward and softly pressed her lips against his.

The kiss was brief, but felt so warm. On the other side, Luan’s body stiffened slightly, though he still kept his eyes closed just like she had asked.

Roxanna then moved to the next one.

She took Zeir’s hand and placed the ring on his finger as well. Just like before, she leaned in and kissed his lips softly before stepping away.

One by one, she repeated the same thing.

A ring on the finger.

A gentle kiss on the lips.

Just like what the groom and the bride do during a wedding ceremony.

Calen almost twitched when her lips touched his, clearly trying very hard not to open his eyes too early. Azul’s shoulders tensed slightly, while the others stood very still, patiently waiting.

Finally, Roxanna placed the last ring on Luan’s hand.

After giving the last soft kiss, she leaned back with a small smile. "Alright," she said lightly. "You can open your eyes now."
