I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!-Chapter 190: Fighting and Loving Each Other
Luan froze because he didn’t expect her to still have that kind of suspicion even now. He slowly stepped away from Aelin and then said, "Or... Zeir can take her there."
Roxanna’s ears perked up. "Ah, why? I thought you were the one who wanted to take her there?"
[Is my jealousy that obvious?] Roxanna wondered, feeling a little worried. [Was my expression really that bad just now?]
On the other hand, Luan felt confused because Roxanna sounded unhappy about him carrying Aelin, but at the same time, she also didn’t want him to think that she was jealous. Did that even make sense?
Because he was so confused, he couldn’t even answer her question properly. Fortunately, before he could get even more troubled by it, Zeir had already walked over to Aelin and lifted her up without saying anything.
Roxanna and Luan both stared at him in silence. They blinked in surprise because he did it so easily and without showing any strong expression, as if he were simply carrying an object. Zeir gently placed Aelin on the bed and then immediately walked out of the room.
"What?" he asked when he noticed the two of them still staring at him.
After a moment, Roxanna shook her head. "N-Nothing." She paused before adding, "Thank you for carrying Aelin."
Because Zeir had done it so quickly and naturally, Roxanna didn’t even have time to feel jealous. Because of that, she didn’t think anything strange about Zeir and Aelin. It felt like he simply did what needed to be done, but also carefully so that his wife wouldn’t feel uncomfortable.
"There’s still some food left in the kitchen. Do you want to eat now?" Zeir asked, pulling Roxanna out of her thoughts.
Before Roxanna could say anything, Calen spoke first. "Yes, please! Do you have any meat? God, I’m starving!"
Calen tried to stand up, but because he had been lying in bed for several days, his legs were weak and he almost fell forward. Before his face could hit the ground, Luan grabbed the back of his collar.
"Why don’t you just stay here and be quiet?" Luan said. "The world was much more peaceful when you were asleep for days."
Calen turned his head, but instead of shouting at Luan, he suddenly smiled widely. "Oh, Luan... I know you missed me that much. Come here, give me a hug."
As soon as Calen stretched his arms toward him, the cat beastman quickly let go of his collar. Without support, Calen dropped straight onto the floor.
"Calen!" Roxanna rushed to him and quickly lifted his head, checking his forehead with worry. "Are you hurt?!"
The fall actually hurt a little, but it wasn’t a big problem for him. However, seeing Roxanna so worried, he said weakly, "My head hurts... and I feel dizzy." He leaned closer to her. "Roxanna... I need a kiss."
Without thinking twice, Roxanna gently pulled his face closer and kissed his forehead several times. "There, there. Luckily your head isn’t bleeding."
Instead of pulling away, Calen moved even closer and rested his head against Roxanna’s chest, silently asking her to hug him.
"Oh, come on, there’s nothing wrong with you!" Luan shouted. "You’re completely fine!"
"Luan, you shouldn’t have dropped him like that," Roxanna said firmly. "Calen just woke up from a coma. If his head hits the ground too hard, he might fall into a coma again! And... and you will be even sadder than you are now!"
"I-I’m not sad!" Luan defended himself.
Zeir, on the other hand, simply shook his head. The hut had been peaceful for the past few days, but now it was suddenly full of noise again. Quietly, he signaled Cyrus to follow him to the kitchen, and the two of them began preparing food for everyone. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Even when they brought dozens of dishes to the living room, Calen and Luan were still arguing with each other. Calen clung tightly to their wife, while Luan kept trying to convince Roxanna that Calen was only pretending to be a helpless dog.
"Here, just eat the meat." Cyrus stuffed a piece of meat into both Luan’s and Calen’s mouths so they would be busy chewing instead of yelling at each other.
But even while chewing, the two of them still tried to annoy each other by throwing lazy punches back and forth.
Roxanna let out a tired sigh because they really couldn’t stop fighting. In the end, she released Calen from her arms and just let them continue arguing with each other.
Roxanna was about to pick up a piece of meat from the plate when her eyes noticed Azul sitting quietly beside them.
It felt a little strange. Just a while ago, he had been talking to her normally. But now he was silent, occasionally letting out a soft sigh instead of joining the cat-and-dog argument happening in front of him.
"Azul..." Roxanna slowly moved closer to him and sat beside him. "Is something wrong? Do you want something else to eat?"
Azul was startled, as if he had just snapped out of his thoughts. "Ah, no! No, I’m fine. I can eat anything, so you don’t need to make new food."
Roxanna gently slipped her hand into his. "Then why do you look sad? If something is bothering you, you can tell me."
Azul stayed silent for a moment before finally speaking. "I just feel bad." He lowered his gaze slightly. "I followed you into Calen’s unconscious mind to protect you, but..." He sighed again. "...you ended up being the one protecting me."
"I mean, I even turned into a little fish! A useless little fish!"
The moment Azul raised his voice, Roxanna’s other husbands turned their heads toward him. Even Calen and Luan stopped arguing.
"You were already that small, and you could still become even smaller?" Luan asked.
The corner of Azul’s eye twitched. "Who are you calling small? I’m not small at all!"
[He is indeed not small,] Roxanna said in her mind. The tips of her ears turned slightly red as she remembered something they had done together in the river.
Azul smiled faintly when he heard her thought. He even looked at the others with a smug expression, but his pride didn’t last long.
[But the others aren’t small either.] Roxanna cleared her throat and shifted slightly where she sat. [All of them are big enough to satisfy me—wait, what the hell! Why am I suddenly thinking about something so dirty at a time like this?!]
After all, they had something much more important to talk about!
"The reason Azul turned into a little fish is because the shadow monster inside Calen’s unconscious mind saw you as a threat. Since it was so scared, it ended up turning you into a little fish," Roxanna explained.
Azul then turned to look at Calen. "Yeah, actually, we need to talk. Why did all the monsters inside your mind want to get rid of me? First it was Mr. Fenrir, and then... the shadow monster!"
"I was also turned into a little puppy by that shadow monster!" Calen protested. "And who knows why they acted that way? I’ve never even hated you!"
Roxanna quickly stepped in before they could start arguing again. "It’s fine. It’s fine. Everyone has their deepest desires, and sometimes those feelings are not something we can control."
Deep down, Calen might want Roxanna for himself, but unfortunately he had to share her with others.
"Shadow monster? Mr. Fenrir?" Luan raised one of his eyebrows. "What are you talking about?"
Roxanna blinked, realizing that Luan and the others had no idea what had happened inside Calen’s unconscious mind.
"It’s... a little complicated," she said slowly.
Aelin might know what happened to them inside Calen’s unconscious mind, but the rest of them were completely unaware of it.
"But I can explain everything to all of you if you’re not... busy?" Roxanna said, glancing at Zeir, the person who had the busiest schedule among them. "I can also explain it twice if one of you needs to leave."
Instead of leaving, Zeir sat down in front of Roxanna. Then he said seriously, "I always have time for you."
[W-why does he look so hot...] Roxanna thought, quickly looking away before her face turned even redder.
Zeir didn’t seem to notice her reaction. His expression remained calm and serious as he waited for her to continue.
Roxanna cleared her throat before speaking. "A-Alright then, so listen to me carefully."
All of them nodded at the same time. Seeing that everyone was finally paying attention, Roxanna took a small breath and began to explain.
"When Azul and I entered Calen’s unconscious mind, it didn’t look like a normal place. It looked like a maze. The walls kept moving, and the paths changed all the time."
They listened to her carefully and didn’t even dare to interrupt her. To be honest, Roxanna felt a little strange, because usually no one listened to her this seriously.
