I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!-Chapter 192: Thoughtful Gifts (1)
"Alright," she said softly. "You can open your eyes now."
All of her husbands slowly opened their eyes. For a moment, they simply stared in silence. The rings were shining brightly, even far more dazzling than the pearls they had once taken from inside shells.
"These are your wedding rings," Roxanna said cheerfully. "In my old world, every married couple exchanges wedding rings during their wedding ceremony. You could say that these rings are a symbol of our everlasting love."
[Ding! Azul’s affection increased by 10%]
[Ding! Calen’s affection increased by 10%]
[Ding! Cyrus’s affection increased by 10%]
[Ding! Luan’s affection increased by 10%]
[Ding! Zeir’s affection increased by 10%]
Roxanna held her breath when those notifications popped up. She truly didn’t expect their affection points to increase that much even though nothing intimate had happened.
She shook her head slightly and continued, "Since we obviously can’t buy rings from a jewelry shop in this world, I found them through my magic portal." She clapped her hands once with a small smile. "These rings are very hard to find in this world, so I hope all of you can take good care of them and make sure not to ’lose’ them."
Roxanna emphasized the word at the end of her sentence. Back then, her ex-husband, Leon, hadn’t cared about their wedding ring at all. He had even lost it before their marriage reached its first year.
She had asked him to simply buy a new one with the same design, but he said that buying a wedding ring twice was a waste of money.
Well... he wasn’t completely wrong. But the reason Roxanna felt sad wasn’t because the ring was expensive, but it was because Leon clearly didn’t see the ring as something precious.
For this reason, at the very least, she hoped that her current husbands wouldn’t lose their wedding rings and would try hard to keep them safe.
[I got these rings from a mission reward, so if they lose them, I’m not even sure I can get new ones.]
Roxanna sighed quietly. [And I even had to pay the system to modify them.]
Unfortunately, at the same time, she cannot guarantee that those rings will remain safe forever.
"But since I know all of you do heavy work every day, even if the rings get lost... I won’t be angry," Roxanna said helplessly. "Still, please try your best not to lose them."
[Because instead of getting angry... I would feel very sad.]
Sad?!
The moment they heard that word, all of her husbands straightened their backs at the same time.
"I will take care of this ring with my whole heart!" Calen declared immediately. He hit his chest several times and added loudly, "If I lose it, I will cut off my finger!"
Roxanna widened her eyes. She definitely didn’t expect such an extreme promise. But before she could respond, the others started speaking too.
"My dear wife, this wedding ring is very beautiful." Azul was the first to reach for her hands. "It’s even more beautiful than the treasures I’ve seen at the bottom of the sea. That’s why I will protect it and make sure it stays on my finger."
"Move."
Luan suddenly pushed Azul aside so he could hold Roxanna’s hands as well.
Roxanna thought Azul would get angry, but strangely, he only stood there quietly with a small frown, as if he had just realized something.
"Roxanna," Luan said while looking straight into her eyes. "If I lose this ring... I will cut off my entire hand."
The frown on his forehead became even more obvious. [Why does he want to make a promise that is even more extreme than Calen’s?!
Calen, who didn’t want to lose, immediately said, "Then I will cut off both of my hands!"
[They’re being too noisy.] Roxanna sighed in her mind. [I’m happy they’re interacting again, but honestly... they’re giving me a headache.]
On the other side, Luan twitched the corner of his eye. "Fine. Then I’ll cut off my legs as well!"
"Then—"
Calen stopped talking the moment someone grabbed the back of his animal-skin clothes, and the same thing happened to Luan.
"You two are very noisy." Zeir lifted both of them by the back of their clothes and began dragging them toward the door. "If you want to keep arguing, do it outside. Use whatever weapons you like. Just make sure no one dies."
"Hey! Hey! I don’t want to be far from my wife!" Calen shouted while trying to break free, but the lizard beastman had already thrown both of them out of the hut.
Then Zeir calmly closed the door. He even placed a wooden plank against it so they couldn’t come back inside unless they broke the door, which would only make Zeir even more annoyed.
"Zeir, I’ll be good! Let me in!" Calen banged on the door from outside.
A moment later, Luan’s voice joined him. "He’s the one who started the fight! Just leave him outside alone!"
Zeir mentally shut his ears to the noise outside and then turned to Roxanna. "Don’t let them come in until they calm down," he said. Then he added, "Just like Aelin, you also deserve some rest."
His eyes slowly moved down to her stomach. "The same goes for the baby."
"Oh..." Roxanna blinked several times. She felt a little amazed by how quickly Zeir handled the situation, but at the same time, she also felt a bit bad for her other husbands. "But... they haven’t eaten yet." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"Don’t worry," Zeir replied calmly. "I’ll bring them food later. Or they can just eat grass if they really can’t stay quiet."
He purposely spoke louder when he said the last sentence. Because of that, the loud banging on the door suddenly stopped. Luan and Calen seemed to have finally heard him.
Meanwhile, Roxanna pressed her lips together. [H-He’s so hot when he acts firm like that!]
Her cheeks turned red, and her body felt warmer, to the point that she had to fan her own face with her hand.
[No, no, no. It must be the pregnancy hormones! Lately I get horny so easily whenever I see my husbands doing something cool or hot!]
Azul and Cyrus, who were still sitting beside her, narrowed their eyes at Zeir. They were clearly annoyed that he had suddenly taken all of Roxanna’s attention.
On the other hand, Zeir didn’t pay much attention to Roxanna’s horniness at all and focused on something more important.
"You said that in your world, married couples exchange wedding rings," Zeir said gently. "But you are the only one who gave us rings."
Zeir softened his gaze. "Shouldn’t we also give you a wedding ring?"
Roxanna blinked in realization. She quickly lifted the last ring she was still holding. "I actually have one for myself," she said. "But... you know, there’s only one ring while there are five of you."
If she let one of them put the ring on her finger, the others would definitely get jealous. Of course, she could let them take turns putting it on her finger, but... that sounded strange and didn’t feel very special.
"Are we only allowed to give you rings?" Azul asked suddenly. For some reason, his expression looked very serious.
Roxanna fell silent for a moment. Then she began to think. [Does it really have to be a ring?]
[Honestly, I don’t even know why people only exchange rings during weddings. Why can’t it be other jewelry... or just other beautiful things?]
She paused. [Ah, who cares. I don’t even live in the modern world anymore.] A small smile slowly appeared on her face. [So let’s just throw away all the rules from the past.]
"Honestly... I think anything is fine," Roxanna said with a brighter smile as she looked at each of her husbands. "As long as it’s something beautiful and valuable, I will accept it."
"And as for this one..." She lifted the ring in her hand and slowly slipped it onto her own finger. "...I’ll put this one on myself."
That way, none of her husbands would feel jealous.
"But what if the thing I give you isn’t that beautiful?" Azul asked worriedly.
Roxanna tilted her head slightly. To be honest, among all of her husbands, Azul seemed to have the best taste. He even had many collections of beautiful shells in his personal hut.
"Azul doesn’t need to think too hard," Roxanna said with a soft smile. "Something becomes valuable not because it looks very beautiful or shiny. It becomes valuable depending on the intention of the person who gives it."
She looked at him warmly. "As long as Azul thinks about me when you choose something, then that thing will already be valuable to me."
[Even if he only gives me a shell, I would still treasure it.] Roxanna thought.
Then she almost laughed to herself. [Honestly, they could even give me a small pebble, and I would still keep it like a treasure.]
After all, when someone rarely receives gifts, even the smallest gift from someone special can feel incredibly precious.
