I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 434 - 433: The Girl from Six Years Ago (37)
"Miss Irene, you can take a look first. We’re going to help this gentleman pack!"
The sales associates immediately went to help Vera Wave with the clothes.
Even though Irene was a regular customer, they couldn’t risk offending such a high-spending client.
"Don’t forget to take off the one the mannequin is wearing!" Vera grinned, reminding the sales associates from the side.
Irene Spencer was so angry that her heart throbbed, but she dared not show it, keeping a polite smile on her face.
It wasn’t until Kris Cooper and Vera Wave settled their bill and left that she finally took a deep breath.
"Go to Hong Kong tomorrow and buy me the exact same skirt. If you can’t find it in Hong Kong, go to France or Italy... I’m determined to have this skirt!"
"Yes!"
The newly hired assistants hurriedly responded.
Tommy Taylor carried bags of all sizes, while Vera Wave was doubled over with laughter, hanging onto Kris Cooper’s arm.
"Ha... honey, did you see? Irene Spencer was so mad she was turning green!"
Kris Cooper stopped in his tracks, staring at her seriously. "If you don’t like her, I can make her disappear completely!"
"Ah..." Vera was startled, then quickly shook her head. "No need. I just wanted to annoy her and make her back off."
Once filming for the movie wraps up, she’ll never see Irene Spencer again, so there’s no need for Kris Cooper to get involved. After all, Irene Spencer is a big star at Emperor Vision; it wouldn’t be wise to provoke her further.
"Let’s go. We need to find a place for me to change into my new skirt and touch up my makeup!"
Having successfully infuriated Irene Spencer, Vera Wave was now in high spirits.
Kris Cooper took her to a familiar styling studio, where he left her with the stylist for makeup and hair. He then turned to talk to Tommy Taylor about Anabel Wilton’s case.
Tommy Taylor leaned in and whispered the answer.
"The trial commenced this morning. All the evidence pointed to Anabel Wilton as the culprit. She confessed her guilt in court and was sentenced to fifteen years."
Kris Cooper raised his eyebrows.
"Too lenient!"
"After all, she didn’t actually cause any casualties. Moreover, her cooperative attitude in confessing her guilt was taken into consideration by the judge during sentencing," Tommy Taylor explained in a low voice. "For a young woman, a fifteen-year prison sentence is a harsh punishment—it basically ruins her life."
Kris Cooper exhaled, waving his hand dismissively.
"Forget it."
In his opinion, the punishment was still too lenient. In Kris Cooper’s eyes, Anabel Wilton’s life wasn’t worth a single strand of Vera Wave’s hair. Fortunately, Vera wasn’t harmed this time. If something had actually happened to her, even tearing Anabel Wilton into ten thousand pieces wouldn’t have sated his rage. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Honey!"
From a distance, Vera Wave’s voice rang out.
Kris Cooper looked up to see the young woman had already changed into the dress. Her face was lightly made up, and her hair was neatly styled. She stood there looking like a well-behaved little princess.
Apart from the different color of the dress, the young woman standing before him vividly reminded him of their first meeting many years ago.
His gaze grew serious, and he rose from the sofa where he was resting to walk over to her.
"What’s wrong?"
Seeing his strange expression, Vera asked, puzzled.
"Oh...nothing." Kris Cooper came back to his senses, his hand resting on her arm. "You look beautiful."
She smiled, satisfied.
Two seconds later, the man’s eyebrows furrowed.
"Why did you take off the bandage?"
"Doesn’t a bandage on my arm look unsightly?" She waved her arm at him. "See? I still kept a small piece on!"
