Chapter 225: What right does she have?

"What happened here?" Paige asked and the girls flinched. They were scared and thinking she was asking for the real truth after hearing Joy’s lies, they decided to answer truthfully,

"We... We were bad mouthing Mister... Mister Stein and..." they looked scared.

"And? Why in the world is my son as well as my niece in such a bad state?" She yelled and everyone listened in on the side of the girls.

"Be-because we were bad mouthing Mister Stein, this little girl got out and yelled that we should take back our words." They finally said and Paige’s eyes ticked. She was dying to know exactly what happened after that.

"Then, did you beat them up because she told you to take back your words?" She pressed on. "Or did you originally try to kill her just to avoid word from getting out that you spoke badly about him?"

"No, no. We would never." They shook their heads. "We had no thoughts of that girl at all." They defended themselves. "In fact, we asked Joy to let it be but she wanted to teach them a lesson and that’s how we got to this state."

Paige closed her eyes for a moment. It was a known rumor that Raymond was slowly getting mad so maybe that was what they were talking about but was that enough to make Rachael react like that.

Rachael... she was a sensible girl who knew how to hide her feelings well, she had noticed that very well so why did she jump out and agitate then to be beaten that much?

Well, she understood that Romeo must’ve tried to stand up for her and got beaten too but for Rachael... why did she take this so far?

"What were the words you said?" Raymond suddenly asked and the girls darted their eyes.

Joy was already sweating buckets. If everyone found out what they said, they would get in trouble.

"They said..." Rachael suddenly started talking with a low voice.

"Rachael, calm down. Save your strength." Steve said but she shook her head and then glared at Joy with the little strength she had left.

"Daddy." Rachael called and Raymond, with all the anger building up in him, carried Rachael from Steve’s arm and caressed her bruised cheeks.

"I’m here."

Joy was stunned. Did she just call Raymond Stein her daddy? Her world instantly shattered. What did she dare do to Raymond Stein’s daughter?

Others were equally shocked after hearing that. And seeing how Raymond was holding her so tenderly, they had reason to believe that this was the daughter that had been going around in the rumors.

"Daddy." Rachael called, her voice shaking as tears built up in her eyes.

"Don’t cry, you’ll only make the bruises sting." He said and kissed the corner of her eyes.

He thought the same thing as Steve. Who in their right mind would look at such a little thing and hit her? She was so small, so fragile and so weak. How was it that she had the heart to hit her?

"Daddy, she said you were crazy." Rachael reported. "She said you had a loose mind and that you were a deranged fool." Everyone gasped. She dared to say that?

Rachael sniffed as the tears made their way down her cheeks. It stung her bruises but nothing hurt more than the heavy feeling she had in her heart.

"She said you’re crazy for falling in love with mummy." She said, and Paige, Skylar as well as Steve, had their eyes widened in shock. What did she say? "I know, daddy. I know everything." She sniffed.

By everything...she didn’t mean that, did she?

"I know you love mummy and you’ve loved her since, even before I was born. I know and that is why I got so angry when she said you were not in your right mind to love her." She cried.

Her tears fell heavily and her cries were so loud that you would wonder where she was getting the extra strength from.

"She also said mummy did not teach me well. What... what right does she have?" She cried. "What right does she have to say that about mummy, daddy?"

Raymond slightly clenched his arm around her, his grip tightening as his anger kept building up but he couldn’t say anything... not in front of the children, at least.

"Uncle," Romeo called. "...you won’t get married to this evil aunty, will you?" He asked and Steve asked,

"What makes you say that?"

"She said she’ll be my Aunty soon, which means you’ll get married in the Future. I don’t want her." He shook his head. "I don’t want to have such an aunt who uses such a painful method to discipline children."

Everyone was once again murmuring about this new information.

Joy was far from innocent now that they’ve heard everything. What would Raymond do about this?

Paige didn’t want to wait for anyone. She dared to touch her son, she wasn’t going to get away with this.

"Whatever happened, my daughter was in the right." He suddenly declared after keeping quiet for so long and brushed the tears from beneath her eyelid. It was gradually swelling. "Even if she went as far as killing someone, she will always be right to do so. Because she is my daughter."

He looked up and glared at Joy. She flinched.

"And since when has it been anyone’s business who I Fall in love with?" He asked. "I believe you are in more need of the discipline that you speak of."

Joy’s entire body was shaking in fear. What was she going to do to escape this situation? She not only dared to beat up his nephew but his daughter as well.

Maybe she should’ve let it go earlier on. She was already regretting it. Her father’s business was going to suffer for this.

The girls in the circle would laugh at her because she would no longer be as rich as them. Mrs Stein? She was going to be a commoner in no time.

No, she wasn’t going to go down alone.

"I... I di-didn’t say all that alone." She yelled. "Those girls said as much as I did." She added and they flinched.

They were already on edge after Raymond stepped into the picture, now she was pointing fingers at them.

But they could do nothing but bow their heads in remorse.

"Rest for now." Raymond whispered to Rachael. "I will handle this."

He handed Rachael to Paige and said,

"Please, take the children to get treated." Steve and Paige left, leaving Skylar and the crowd behind him.

Raymond was feeling sick in his stomach whilst staring at this lady who had done that to his daughter. She should be on her knees, begging for mercy but she was still standing tall and arrogant.

Rachael was the child Alexa had entrusted to him. He promised to keep her safe but because he was looking in one direction for any impending danger, he failed to see the danger coming from the other side.

Why was it that they always got into one hurt or the other when with him? Why?

Rachael... his child. The child he thought he would never get to see in his life. The child he treasured with all his heart.

He approached Joy and took her hand. He looked at it. This was the hand that had done most of the hitting, he was sure of it.

Joy wondered what he was going to do all of a sudden and why he was just staring at her hand. Then, she thought, maybe in the midst of all this, he had somehow fallen for her smarts.

She felt elated all of a sudden.

Yeah, this was how it was supposed to be. People don’t care about children these days. Compared to them, they would rather focus on the beautiful things of the world.

Who cares for a little brat when there is a beautiful lady standing next to... crack.

Her eyes widened and she looked at her hand. He had just broken her wrist and deformed her hand. Before she could even yell or scream, not even react to hearing her broken wrist, Raymond slapped her hard across the face.

She stumbled. His palm print showed clearly on her face but he was not done with her.

Raymond glared at her with a lot of murderous intent building up in him.

He, who did not have a tendency of hurting girls, threw away all his morals just to deal with the lady who had dared to beat up his daughter and nephew. In fact, he wanted to kill her.

Joy screamed in fright. Her eyes were swelling up as she cried in pain. He raised his hand and hit her once more, causing her nose to bleed. It was probably broken.

Everyone behind him was frightened. He looked like he was going to kill someone. Their scared gasps brought Raymond back to his senses and he felt it wasn’t appropriate to have an audience while dealing with her.

"Skylar." He called and Skylar looked up from the crying lady. He had no remorse for her. Rather, he wished she’d be tortured a lot more than Raymond was doing.

People who saw themselves as high priority and did whatever they wanted because of that mentality deserved to suffer. Not less, people who would go so far as beat up children for that nonsensical thought as being above...

It was cruel.

"I’m here." He said, stepping forward.

"Please, see to it that everyone enjoys the rest of the party." Raymond said.
