I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 139: Didn’t you say they only met twice?

Once the car was gone, Alexa looked down at Rachael in her arms.

Rachael got too attached to Raymond in one day and it was weird. That was how much she liked him and she even went as far as saying she wished he was her father. What sort of bond was that?

Or was it because she was incapable of showering her enough love? Was that why she was looking for a father? And from a person she just met too.

It made her feel incompetent.

"Am I a bad mother?" She muttered.

"What was that, mummy?"

"No, it’s nothing." Alexa said and smiled. "I just wanted to know what you would like for dinner."

"Let’s have pancakes."

"No honey, we can have pancakes tomorrow morning, not tonight." Alexa said as she started heading for the car.

"Hm, then you choose mummy. Surprise me." Rachael said, smiling brightly and Alexa stared at her innocent face.

Yeah, maybe she was lacking a lot but at least her daughter did not resent her. Maybe someday she would give her the father she desired.

While Alexa adjusted her in her baby seat at the back of the car, Rachael called out,

"Mummy?"

"Yes, cinnamon?" Alexa answered with her focus on the seat belts.

Rachael reached out for her mother’s face and drew her close for a kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you, mummy." She said and Alexa starred in surprise. "I said a lot of things on a whim and did a lot of uncommon things but you still let me be. I felt really happy today and I had fun. Thank you."

Alexa broke past her surprise and smiled. She kissed her forehead and just then, she realized that Raymond had kissed that same spot. Did that mean they had an indirect kiss?

No. She shook her head. What were these unbecoming thoughts brewing in her mind?

"I’m glad you had fun." She said and got in the driver’s seat. "Now, let’s go home. Mummy is exhausted from all the fun." 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"Okay." Rachael raised her hand, still as excited as she was when Raymond was around.

Meanwhile, Serena’s hand trembled as she gripped tightly on the paper in her hand. Her teeth kept grinding and her blood pressure rising.

What was this she was seeing?

"Is this true?" She asked, trying hard not to let her face crack.

On her desk were pictures of the two people she hated to see together with all she had.

The man standing before her was called Henry. He was her trusted partner in crime. He was also someone of influence in Ultio.

"Is this true?" She repeated, flinging the paper towards him as well as the pictures. "Tell me, is it?"

"Yes." Henry answered and closed his eyes. "Raymond Stein has already met with Alexa."

"Ahhh." Serena screamed and swept off everything on her desk. If she could, she would’ve flipped the table as well.

She slammed her hands on the table while still grinding her teeth.

How did this happen? She took so much precaution to make sure he never met her again but here... ah, it was like the universe was mocking her.

No matter, she would never let the two be together again. They could never be together again.

Yes, this was actually a good thing.

Raymond would only suffer more knowing there was a lookalike to his dead wife. Whenever he looked at her face, his wounds would open up again and regret would course through him. He would suffer.

But she felt uneasy. Alexa was actually tearing his problems and she was very good at her job. She might be able to break him past his insecurities, pain and dread and maybe end up falling for her.

How? Just how, from across the world, were those two able to meet again? What sort of fate did they share together?

Alexa was hers. She saved her from that building so her life belonged to her.

What to do?

The only thing she could actually count on now was the strength of the hypnosis that had her memories locked up. It was tested and trusted so she didn’t worry about any old memories coming back.

Yet... there was this nagging feeling. She could not ignore it. If she did, she would only end up making a mistake.

"How many times have they met?"

"Twice." Henry answered, bending down to pick up the things she threw down in fury. "And today, he met his daughter."

"What?" Serena’s face contorted. She couldn’t hold it in any longer. "How did that happen?"

"Not only that. They spent the day together in an aquarium. They looked like a family of three." He spoke honestly, even when he knew it would infuriate her.

Serena’s eyebrows furrowed and she felt so much like screaming.

"Didn’t you say they only met twice? How did they become so close? How...?" She pursed her lips, closed her eyes and gave out a sigh.

This was a method she developed to keep her temper under control.

"Henry." She called and opened her eyes. She walked out from her table.

She approached him and poked his chest with her finger.

"How is it that your boss is able to have such free time to travel over here?"

"He’s not supposed to. I got the intel from his secretary and he’s fully booked so I don’t know how he made time to travel this far." Henry said while looking directly into her eyes.

"I need you to distract him, Henry. He cannot have time to make more visits. Do you hear me?"

"Of course." Henry said and smiled.

"Good. You’re a good boy, as always." Serena said and dragged his tie, lowering his head to her level and she whispered. "You’ll remain a good boy, won’t you?"

"Yes, I will." He answered and she smirked, planted her lips on his and kissed him.

Henry kissed back but he couldn’t be greedy so he kept his hand behind his back.

"Henry." Serena called in a hush tone. "Go ahead and hold me." She said with a devious smirk.

Henry’s eyes widened and his fingers twitched behind him but he couldn’t.

"I wouldn’t dare." He declined.

"Oh? Your mind says so but... " she reached down for his lower body and he flinched. "... This side says otherwise."

Henry pursed his lips. He still couldn’t keep his urges under control even after so long.

"Just do it. You want my affection but all I can give you is my body so take it while I’m still offering." Serena said and Henry took charge. He crashed his lips on Serena and vigorously kissed her.

After their little activity in the office room, Serena put on her clothes like nothing happened and glanced over her shoulder at Henry sitting up on the bed. And then she said,

"Make sure to take care of this. Don’t disappoint me, Henry."

"Yes, lady." He answered and she walked out of there.
