I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 121: Alexandra Smith
Now, there was no name called ’Stein’ in the top five family charts. Ultio was number two and Winston still remained first but not for long.
Paige, angered by her grandfather’s nonchalance and indifference towards his offsprings, decided to teach him a lesson that would make him regret his actions for all of eternity. She worked with Raymond to pull him down. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
She gave the rest of the Winston offspring the idea that they would never be able to escape Raymond’s wrath even when they put their connections together because without the patriarch to help them, they were basically nothing. And surely, she convinced them that he wouldn’t help out, knowing how indifferent he was to things that had nothing to do with him.
The best thing was to give up early and still keep the nice things they have.
If Raymond came for them, not only would they lose their wealth and power, they would also lose their place in society, so the best was to give up.
Many agreed and those who remained stubborn were stripped of whatever power they had.
Once the head of the Winston got wind of this, he fell on his back and broke his spine, therefore getting hospitalized.
He was old and ready to retire but he refused to give up the ghost. No one visited him though, he remained in isolation till the moment he finally gave up the ghost and went to hell.
All this, Raymond was able to accomplish in three years. He did this and became number one, not just in the country but extending out to all places.
He crushed his enemies and got revenge but none of that was able to sooth the void in his heart. It was too much that he slowly fell into despair from time to time.
None of these achievements put his heart or mind at ease. His heart was still filled with void, loneliness and helplessness. Though he put up a tough and cold front in front of the world, he was a man with a broken heart and a broken soul.
He had frequent nightmares. From the moment he lost Ariel to the cruel clutches of death, he had been having frequent nightmares.
Different versions of Ariel who made his nightlife torturous. He couldn’t even close his eyes for two seconds without taking pills anymore.
One Ariel would always tell him never to forget her if not she would hate him. There was no way he would forget her but the way she said it... her face had blood that seeped out of her eyes. She cried tears of blood and held onto a blood clot of her dead child, blaming him for not being a better and stronger lover.
Another Ariel openly and boldly doubted his love and yelled at him, saying she regretted ever giving her heart and soul to him.
The nightmares persisted and Raymond had constant sleepless nights but that did not affect his performance at work.
Paige gave him frequent therapy sessions but even that wasn’t enough to put him at ease. He was damned. He needed help.
Somebody! Anybody! Anybody was fine, so long they could stop the hateful words from echoing in his ears. So long they could save him from this torment and everyday pain. Who could save him?
Five years after Ariel’s death, in a country far away from Raymond, German, to be precise, a certain Psychologist was on the rise. But she wasn’t just a psychologist. She was a confident public speaker, a lecturer at the university, and also, she was a single mom.
With her sleek, straight and short black above her shoulder hairstyle, pink lovely lips that glowed with a little touch of lipgloss and eyes as sharp as an eagle, she stood in front of a crowd with an air of confidence, speaking eloquently with an unrivaled beauty.
Her words could not be denied and even if her statements were wrong, no one had the might to correct her because of how confident she brought them out. She was simply stunning and perfect.
She was also very good at her job. Someone who took no offense to her patient’s abnormal behaviors and always found a way to come up with a solution for their problems.
Be it through physical contact, like holding hands or hugging, she was ready to do that but she had a line that she never let them cross. All in all, she was just great. And that lady was...
"Alexandra Smith. Over here." Someone called from behind and this beautiful lady turned. Seeing who it was, she smiled and raised her hand in a slight wave.
"Jane." She said,
The lady, Jane, walked up to her and stopped.
"It took you long enough. Why come now?" Jane asked and Alexander shrugged her shoulders.
"You know, my students didn’t want to let me off easy. I’m starting to wonder if they’re attending the class because they like the course or because they like me." She responded and breathed out a simple sigh. "Whichever reason, I hope they learn well and pass my exams."
"Well, I think it’s the latter." Jane said with a vivid smirk.
"You think? Anyway, where’s Rachael?"
"She’s somewhere... I think."
"You think?"
"Mummy." Came the gentle yet sharp tone of a little girl running towards them. They both looked down at her as she ran and Alexandra, Alexa for short, spread out her arms to embrace her. "Mummy." She repeated as she threw herself into her mother’s arms.
"There, my baby. How are you?" Alexa asked and Rachael smiled brightly and replied,
"I’m fine, mummy."
"And how was school?" Alexa asked as she brushed her eyebrows neat with her thumb.
"It was great. I gave the teacher the drawing you asked me to hand in and she loved it." Rachael said. "I even gave her a kiss to top it up. I think I’ll be getting the ’best behaved child’ medal this time soon." She concluded and smiled.
Alexa looked at her four year old daughter and smiled. Such a lovely being. She kissed her cheek and said,
"That’s good. Although I would really much appreciate it if at home, you act as well behaved as you do in class." She said, giving her a certain look with her eyes and Rachael darted her eyes aside.
"Forget it." She said,
This smart, little ball of cuteness was her daughter. Her precious daughter and she would give the world just to keep her safe but sometimes, this lovely ball of cuteness could be a little too much. Too extreme to be precise.
She had black hair that was braided into pigtails, black lovely eyes and cheeks that you just wanna grab with your mouth and munch on. That was how adorable she was. Yet...
She was too smart for her own good. She was resilient and strong willed too. Many said she looked just like her mother in that regard but Alexa could feel that that trait wasn’t hers. But it was so familiar to her and so she concluded that it must’ve been her father’s.
"Are you heading home now?" Jane asked as she saw her off to the entrance of the hospital.
Jane was a petite lady with long brown wavy hair and cute fringes covering most parts of her forehead. Though she was a surgeon, she didn’t look so much like it. She looked too playful, but don’t be fooled by her appearance, because she was second to no one once she picked up a scalpel.
"Yeah. I’m having dinner out with Serena today." She said and Jane silently groaned. That Serena, she might look like a good sister and act nice in front of Alexa but she knew she wasn’t a good person.
Well, at least she wouldn’t harm Alexa so there was nothing to fear.
"Alright. Have a nice dinner." She waved to her and they parted ways.
Outside, the gentle breeze blew and Alexa stood still for a moment. She felt that void again. That empty feeling inside her like she was missing an important part of herself.
"Mummy?" Rachael called, bringing her out of her thoughts and she smiled at her daughter.
"Yes, baby. Let’s go."
