Chapter 112: Two days to the wedding

Few days to the wedding. The media was hyped and though Philip, whose health kept deteriorating, didn’t plan to attend the wedding, he decided to watch it on TV.

The twins, wherever they were hiding, definitely didn’t plan to sit still and watch Raymond get married to Ariel peacefully.

Not only did he steal their position in the Stein’s family, he also completely humiliated them. And since they couldn’t have Ariel for themselves, they decided to break her, end her and then leave him to live in despair.

He loved her, didn’t he? So what other sweet revenge was there other than taking away such an important part of him forever? He would fall into despair and in that moment, they would rise up and take back their position in the company.

It was a brilliant plan skillfully crafted... by Serena.

But no one knew that. She did all this in the dark to avoid any form of suspicion from anyone whatsoever.

She couldn’t do the dirty work herself so she let the moron twins carry it out and whether they succeeded or messed up, she had her own plans and at the right time, she would take action and do what her mind had set aside.

"Happiness." She muttered as she tapped her fingers on the table. Her legs were crossed, her back was straightened and her gaze fixed on the horizon. "I wonder what that will be like. But I won’t let it, little cute pumpkin. I despise seeing you with him. I’ll let you have happiness but just not with him. It’ll be in a place I can see you, and maybe your cute innocent smile as well." She chuckled and her gaze turned cold. "You can only be happy in the place I’ll take you to."

Two days to the wedding, Ariel was trying out her wedding gown when the seamstress struck something odd.

"Why does it seem like you’re growing in size everyday?" A lady asked. "I swear your waist was..." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"What’s the problem?" Ariel asked. "I haven’t been having a lot of appetite lately so I’m on a diet. Did I lose too much weight?"

"That’s not it. You’re not reducing but rather increasing. If you’re on a diet this isn’t supposed to happen." She said and looked up at Ariel. "Um, this is a bit rude to ask but... Did you perhaps miss your period lately?"

"Huh?" Ariel tilted her head and the seamstress looked at her in anticipation for her answer.

Ariel felt a bit awkward. How was he supposed to tell her that her periods were irregular? She was a complete stranger too.

The seamstress noticed she was uncomfortable so she decided to let it go.

"Don’t worry about it. I’ll just adjust the waist a bit." She said and Ariel nodded.

The seamstress, along with her girls, helped Ariel take off the wedding gown and Ariel felt she could breathe again. Who knew trying out a single dress could take so much out of her?

"I’ll just sit down for a moment." She said and the seamstress nodded.

Ariel sat down and gave out a sigh of relief. Her legs were killing her.

The seamstress looked at her for a while and then decided to take this to Raymond.

After Raymond returned home, he went straight to Ariel and touched her neck.

"Are you sick?" He asked her in a soft tone but she shook her head.

"Welcome home." She said with a smile and he nodded.

"Yeah. I heard you haven’t been eating well lately."

"I’m on a diet." She said but he raised an eyebrow at her. She knew she couldn’t hide it. The seamstress was probably the one who told him about it. "Yeah, I haven’t been having much of an appetite lately."

"Let’s go to Steve." He said, grabbing her hand but she shook her head.

"It’s not that big a deal. It’s late, we shouldn’t disturb Steve like this." She said but Raymond wouldn’t hear of it.

"Ariel, this has to do with your health. Whatever reason there is for you not having an appetite to eat, we have to find it out right away." He said. "Besides, why do you think he stays in the same building? It’s for times like this when there’s an emergency."

"But it’s not an emergency." Ariel dragged. "I’m not going there."

"Honey, you know I don’t need you to walk before I can take you out of here, right?" He asked and she shut her eyes. As stubborn as she was, Raymond had managed to match her stubbornness.

"Fine. But then you really have to carry me. I don’t want to walk." She said with pouted lips and he smiled.

"Of course." He carried her bridal style and she hooked her arms around his neck. "How can I let my queen walk? Your feets are precious." He said, kissing her cheeks.

Raymond took her to the car and the driver took them to the facility center. It wasn’t very late and Steve would still be in work mode but Ariel still used the excuse of it being late to refuse Raymond’s suggestion to get a check up.

It didn’t work, of course. She still went there.

On their way to the center, Ariel asked for the car to stop almost five times because she suddenly started craving chocolate chips and then she wanted to drink coca-cola and then there was the craving for sour strawberries.

Raymond didn’t have a problem with it but he felt Ariel was having strange symptoms for an illness he didn’t know about. And thus, it got really late but neither of them minded this.

Rather, what Ariel was concerned about was...

"At this rate, I really won’t fit in my wedding dress." She muttered in silent despair. She said she didn’t have an appetite to eat but here she was grabbing every snack that came to mind.

What exactly was going on with her?

She put a strawberry in her mouth and silently shewed. She’d have to call Madam Nutella, the seamstress, to adjust the wedding gown further because she definitely wouldn’t fit, not even with the previous enhancement.

"You’re probably really hungry." Raymond said, as if trying to comfort her. She looked away from the window, smiled brightly and confidently said to him,

"Yeah. It’ll probably go away soon."
