Chapter 110: She wanted to love him

That night, Raymond flew Ariel to Paris on his helicopter. The view from the helicopter was so nice that she would literally gape with opened mouth in excitement.

He was glad he took her there and the gladness in her eyes made him happy.

At the Eiffel tower, there was a specific area which was off limits and reserved for just Raymond. God knows how much he spent to gain access to that spot.

There were no candles, just ribbons and Raymond made sure to make them blue ribbons. Part of Ariel’s traumas were candles and red ropes. The twins used those on her so much that just seeing them frightened her.

"Is this a normal dinner?" Ariel asked as they walked hand in hand towards the table.

Raymond nodded his head and kissed her hand.

"Yes. But before I let you eat, I’ll need you to give me an answer. It has to be a yes or a no." He said and Ariel wondered what it was. She wasn’t hiding anything so she had no problem responding to him.

"What is it?"

"Ariel Albert." He called her full name and once again kissed her hand which had the ring on. This stunned her and she felt a bit anxious. Why was he suddenly getting serious? "This ring... It looks very good on you, don’t you think?" He asked out of nowhere.

"Well, yeah. But... Is that what you wanted to ask?" She asked him and he looked back at the ring.

"No." He said and went down on his knees. "I love you." He admitted. "And I would like to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to hold your hand in the open and show to everyone that from now till the day I breathe my last, I belong to you and you... To me as well."

He pressed her hand on his forehead with his eyes closed. He meant every word he was saying to her and he wanted her to know the extent of his sincerity. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

He gazed up at her only to see her teary eyes.

"Ariel, will you marry me?" He asked and she covered her mouth with her other hand.

She sobbed with her hand blocking any sound from escaping her lips. She was so touched that she couldn’t stop crying.

"Ariel." Raymond called and she nodded her head. She nodded her head so much that she almost forgot to actually reply with her words.

"Yes, Raymond." She cried. "I will marry you."

Raymond’s heart felt elated and he stood to his feet, kissing her with his heart filled with happiness.

"Thank you." He hugged her. "Thank you so much."

"No, thank you, Raymond. Thank you for choosing me." Ariel said while crying her heart out.

This good news went around. It got to Steve and he sighed with relief before saying,

"Finally. They could’ve done this ages ago."

Paige and Skylar heard the news and they, standing as Ariel’s family members, approved their relationship. Not that it mattered. Raymond would’ve still taken her as his wife if they disagreed.

Raymond Stein was officially engaged. The news didn’t take long to spread and it wasn’t so shocking because they knew his audacious lover but what was actually shocking was them finding out that she was actually a nice person.

Looking past her past deeds, they felt she truly loved Raymond and that’s why she changed.

The next couple of days were as peaceful as the last few. Their wedding was scheduled a few days after Christmas, a day to the new year and though it was on short notice, the couple wanted to enter the new year with each other as life partners.

This added to Raymond’s work load and Ariel also got busy. She had to look into the decorations, the cake and food, and her dress. She got so busy that she didn’t realize that she had only a few days to go till Christmas.

Ariel finally made up her mind and decided to go with Raymond. This would be the best chance to introduce herself as his fiance and even if she met the twins, she would keep her head up high. She was so good at acting, and even if her fears kicked in, she would try her best to keep it in and look them in the eye.

She had Raymond. They couldn’t do anything to her and she was ever ready if they planned anything funny.

Dressing in green and white, the couple made their way into the Stein’s manor confidently. As soon as they walked in, all eyes fell on them, as usual and they walked towards the house head to give their greeting with smiles on their faces.

"Merry Christmas." Raymond spoke first and Philip’s eyes glanced over at Ariel standing confidently by his side.

"I can’t believe you plan on marrying her." He bluntly spoke but his words affected neither of them.

"Merry Christmas to you too." Ariel responded with a smile. "I brought you a gift. I heard your health is getting terrible thanks to the change of the season but I hope you recover soon." She slightly bowed her head and raised it, meeting his eyes without a hitch.

"You..." Yara wanted to speak up because she was fed up with Ariel’s arrogance but Philip stopped her, raising his hand in the air.

"It’s alright." He said and dropped his hand. "At least you care about your elders."

"Of course, father-in-law." She grinned and though audacious of her, Philip found it interesting.

’Looking me straight in the eye and saying all this. The future madam doesn’t look like a weakling. I heard what happened with my boys but it seems she’s unfazed. Good. Very good. She won’t fall easily.’ He thought, nodding his head in satisfaction.

"If you’ll excuse us, we’ll like to look around and greet some familiar faces." Raymond said.

"Feel free to spend the night in the manor tonight." Philip said, shocking all of them.

"What?!" Yara exclaimed out loud, catching the attention of the guests and Philip frowned.

"Woman, why are you being unnecessarily loud? Can’t you be composed for once?" He asked and she looked up at the couple.

They both sneered at her and turned to Philip.

"You don’t have to worry about us, we have other plans after this banquet." Raymond said and bowed his head. "Excuse us."

They both walked away and as you guessed, they went to the snack table.

"Wow, look who it is." That was Serena’s voice and they both turned to see her grinning from ear to ear while staring at them. "You two look like you’re glowing tonight. I heard you’re getting married."

She took steps towards them and stood in front of Ariel, smiling in delight.

"Hello, Pumpkin. How have you been?"
