Heretic Trainer: The Gym Is My Cultivation Method-Chapter 496: Wedding With Extra Objectives
The long-awaited day had finally come: the wedding of Garion and Rachel.
The ceremony wasn’t held on God Island.
That place was still considered the hidden main base of God Gym, not something meant for public exposure.
Instead, they chose Muscle God Island, the only island that had been open to outsiders from the very beginning.
Over the past week, Garion and the others had refined and improved the island’s appearance just for this day.
The training grounds were reorganized, the platforms polished, and even the fields were carefully adjusted so guests could move comfortably.
It still felt like God Gym, but cleaner, more welcoming, more... presentable.
Inside his room, Garion stood in front of a mirror, adjusting his suit.
He pulled his sleeve slightly, then rolled his shoulders once, checking the fit.
The fabric tightened around his frame before settling naturally.
"Not bad..." he muttered, tilting his head slightly as he looked at his reflection. "...I am quite handsome in this."
He turned a bit to the side, checking his posture, then straightened his back.
His chest lifted slightly, instinctively correcting his form like he always did.
But just as his gaze settled on the mirror again... a familiar voice echoed in his mind.
[Congratulations, host, on your wedding.]
Garion paused.
His body stilled, then he slowly turned his head slightly, as if trying to locate the voice even though he already knew where it came from. "...Atlas?"
A small smile formed on his face. "It’s been a while..."
He crossed his arms and leaned back a little, relaxed, but his eyes stayed sharp.
"I remember the last time you spoke was after we finished building God Island."
His gaze narrowed slightly. "What happened to you?"
There was a brief silence. Then...
[Nothing significant. After the construction of God Island, I needed to recover, so I went into a temporary sleep state.]
[Though I didn’t expect you to be this busy while I was gone.]
Garion raised a brow. "Is that supposed to be a compliment or criticism?"
A short pause.
[Haha. Both, if you want.]
[A war, development of a new cultivation path beyond your current realm, expansion of your faction... and now a wedding.]
[You really have a lot on your hands.]
Garion let out a quiet breath and rolled his neck once, loosening up. "Yeah... I’ve been busy."
Then he tilted his head, glancing upward as if looking past the ceiling. "So... you didn’t come just to congratulate me, right?"
[I can’t hide it from you, huh?]
Garion’s eyes narrowed slightly. "...Of course."
He shifted his stance, one hand resting on his hip. "You always show up with something to say the moment you’re back."
A short pause.
[Haha, yeah. That’s true.]
[I’m here to give you a mission from the higher being.]
Garion blinked. "...You’re kidding me."
He let out a short breath, almost a laugh, but it didn’t carry much amusement. "I’m about to get married right now."
[Don’t worry. The mission is actually connected to it.]
Garion frowned.
His brows pulled together slightly as he turned his head back toward the mirror. "...What kind of mission is that?"
There was a brief pause.
[The mission is simple... marry Rachel.]
Garion froze.
For a second, he just stood there, staring at his own reflection, trying to process what he just heard. "...What?"
He turned his head slightly, disbelief clear in his voice. "What the hell kind of mission is that?"
[I don’t know. I’m just relaying what the higher being told me.]
[I’m just the mission giver. You remember that, right?]
Garion stared ahead for another moment.
Then he exhaled slowly, his shoulders dropping just a little. "...Damn it."
He ran a hand through his hair once, then let it fall back to his side.
A short silence followed before he spoke again. "...Fine then."
He adjusted his collar one last time, smoothing it down carefully. "At least it doesn’t change anything."
He turned toward the door without hesitation.
Then he reached out, opened it, and stepped forward. "...Let’s go."
---
After Garion stepped out of his room, he closed the door behind him.
He adjusted his sleeve once more, then looked up.
It wasn’t Raviel standing there.
Instead, a large figure stood in the hallway, arms crossed, posture relaxed but heavy with presence, Vargan.
Garion raised a brow slightly. "...You?"
Vargan broke into a wide grin, then let out a loud laugh. "HAHA! Of course it’s me!"
He stepped forward, boots hitting the ground with solid weight, then grabbed Garion’s shoulder in a firm grip.
"Supreme Coach Garion, congratulations on your wedding!"
Garion let out a short laugh, steadying himself slightly from the force of the grab. "Thanks, Vargan."
He glanced at him again, eyes narrowing just a bit. "...I was expecting Raviel."
Vargan snorted, pulling his hand back and rolling his shoulder. "Yeah, that guy would’ve argued with you for marrying his big sister."
Garion exhaled through his nose, a small smile forming. "...Yeah. Sounds like him."
Vargan crossed his arms again, looking Garion up and down. "Hm."
He nodded once. "Not bad. You actually look decent for once."
Garion shot him a look. "...You always this encouraging?"
"HAHA!" Vargan laughed again, loud and unrestrained. "You should be glad I didn’t tell you to fight before the ceremony!"
Garion shook his head, but the corner of his mouth lifted slightly. "...I’ll pass."
Vargan’s expression shifted just a bit, still relaxed, but calmer. "...Still."
He looked ahead for a second, then back at Garion. "It’s been a while since I’ve been in a wedding like this."
Garion raised a brow. "A while? Your clan do wedding ceremonies too?"
Vargan immediately scoffed. "Of course we do."
He straightened slightly, his tone still rough but more grounded. "Just because we fight a lot doesn’t mean we ignore traditions."
He tapped his chest once. "Wedding ceremonies are important."
Garion watched him quietly.
Vargan continued, voice firm. "For us, it’s not just a celebration. It’s a declaration of a new beginning."
Garion nodded slowly. "...I see."
He adjusted his collar again, gaze steady. "Then we did it right."
Vargan smirked, clearly satisfied. "Yeah."
He turned slightly, jerking his head toward the hallway ahead. "Come on. They’ve been waiting long enough."
Garion glanced forward, then back at Vargan for a brief second. "Okay."
The two of them walked side by side down the hall, their steps steady as they headed toward the ceremony.
