Chapter 490: Brother Reacts Worst Possible Way

The flying ship was already landing on God Island. But before it even fully settled, Dahlia jumped down.

She hit the ground hard and immediately ran off without stopping.

Everyone on deck froze for a second.

Raviel, who had been waiting below, frowned as he watched her disappear into the distance. "What the hell?"

Beside him, Aveline narrowed her eyes slightly. "Yeah. That’s not like her."

They exchanged a glance. Something was clearly off.

But neither of them knew what happened. So they waited.

A moment later, the rest of the group began stepping down from the ship one by one.

Arden, Clara, the twins, Seira, and Valtor.

The moment they landed, Raviel and Aveline walked straight toward them.

"What happened?" Raviel asked directly.

"Why did Dahlia run off like that?" Aveline added, her tone calm but sharp.

But before anyone could answer...

Clara suddenly stepped forward and tapped Arden on the shoulder. "Hey. Go check on senior sister."

Arden blinked and pointed at himself. "Me? Why me?"

Clara stared at him like he had just said something stupid. "Are you serious right now?"

She poked his chest with her finger. "You’re the closest one to her, idiot."

Arden frowned slightly. "That doesn’t mean..."

"Yes, it does," Clara cut him off. "You’re the second direct disciple. You trained with her the most."

She poked him again, harder this time. "So go."

Arden hesitated.

Clara’s expression darkened. "Goddamn it, just go already before she does something stupid."

Arden let out a tired sigh. "Yeah, yeah... I’m going."

He turned and immediately headed in the direction Dahlia ran off, picking up his pace quickly.

Clara watched him leave, then nodded in satisfaction. "Good."

---

Raviel and Aveline stepped toward Clara.

Clara raised both hands lightly. "Yeah, yeah, I’ll explain what happened on the ship, but..."

She glanced at Raviel and smirked. "...you’re not gonna like this one."

Raviel frowned. "Why are you looking at me like that? Why wouldn’t I like it?"

Clara shrugged. "Just listen first. You can freak out after."

She leaned in slightly and began explaining everything. What happened there and what they heard there.

When she finished... Raviel’s expression stiffened. Aveline’s brow lifted slightly.

Raviel’s voice rose. "Garion did what... with my sister?"

His face darkened immediately. "That bastard! How dare he..."

He turned toward the ship. But before he could take a step... Aveline grabbed his ear hard.

Raviel flinched. "Ow! What the hell are you doing, Aveline?!"

Aveline smiled at him calmly. "You should be happy, not angry."

Raviel stared at her. "Happy?"

Aveline’s gaze didn’t waver. "Your sister found someone she truly loves."

She released his ear slowly. "That is not something to get angry about."

Raviel rubbed his ear, still frowning. "But this is Garion we’re talking about."

He pointed toward the ship. "You know how strange and crazy he is."

Aveline nodded once. "I do."

She didn’t hesitate. "And I also know his good side."

Her tone stayed even. "He is strong, reliable, and loyal."

She looked straight ahead. "Even if he’s... excessive, he is still a good match for her."

Raviel opened his mouth to argue, but he stopped the moment Aveline looked at him again.

He clicked his tongue and looked away.

Aveline then turned back to Clara. "Still... it is interesting."

Her eyes narrowed slightly. "To think Garion wasn’t the one in control... but Rachel."

Clara immediately nodded. "Yeah, and that’s not even the craziest part." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

She raised two fingers. "Not only did they go for two days straight..."

She tilted her head. "They’re still going."

Raviel froze. "...They did what?"

Aveline let out a soft laugh. "I expected as much."

Raviel looked at her, then back at the ship. "There’s no way she’s like that."

Aveline glanced at him. "You underestimate her."

Her voice stayed calm. "She has been restrained by your clan for too long."

She shifted her gaze forward. "Now she is simply being honest with herself."

Raviel still didn’t look convinced. "...That doesn’t mean..."

Aveline cut him off. "It means you will not interfere."

Raviel frowned. "But..."

Aveline turned her head slightly, her tone lowering. "...Or would you like to spend the next year without me?"

Raviel froze. "...No."

Aveline’s expression softened just a little. "Good."

She stepped closer to him. "I’ll make sure you’re well taken care of tonight."

Raviel immediately went quiet. Completely.

Clara, who had been watching everything, stared at both of them. "...You two are not any better."

Aveline didn’t respond. Raviel avoided eye contact.

Clara let out a long breath. "...This whole place is insane."

Valtor walked past them, laughing loudly. "HAHA! Now this is what I call a proper sect!"

Clara shook her head. "...I’m going somewhere quiet."

She turned and walked off without looking back.

---

Arden moved quickly across the island, checking every place Dahlia would normally go. "...Where did she go..."

He went to her room first. Empty.

He clicked his tongue and turned away without stopping.

Next, he headed for the training hall. The moment he got close...

CLANG!

A loud metallic sound echoed from inside.

Arden paused. "Everyone else should still be on the deck... so it has to be her."

He pushed the door open and stepped inside.

There she was.

Dahlia was on the bench, lifting heavy weights with steady rhythm.

CLANG!

CLANG!

Her movements were fast.

Arden let out a small breath. "...Finally found you."

He walked closer. "Senior sister."

Dahlia glanced at him for a split second... Then she turned her head away and kept lifting.

CLANG!

CLANG!

Arden watched for a moment, then sighed. "...You’re overdoing it."

No response.

He moved to the side and sat down on a nearby bench, resting his arms on his knees. "You always do this when you’re upset."

Still nothing.

CLANG!

CLANG!

Arden stayed quiet for a few seconds, then spoke again, voice calmer. "...You don’t have to pretend."

Dahlia’s grip tightened slightly on the bar. But she didn’t stop.

Arden leaned back a bit. "If you’re angry, just say it."

He looked at her directly. "...Take it out on me if you want. I’m ready."

Silence.

CLANG!

Then... the bar suddenly stopped.

Dahlia held it in place for a second before lowering it back onto the rack.

CLANG!

The sound echoed through the hall.

She sat up slowly.

For a moment, she looked at him without saying anything.
