Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 61: Her secret
"No shit!" Sandra gasped behind Audrey.
Alex nudged her side, telling her to shut her mouth.
Audrey stood at the center, looking from Caleb to Maria. Her mission in the Grey Blood Pack had just been jeopardized.
Maria couldn’t believe her ears, mate? That was the last thing she ever thought of finding when she came to this pack.
She stood there, speechless, staring into those blue eyes. She admitted, he was a handsome wolf, but, just a few minutes ago, she had promised herself that she was not planning on staying here for long and going on about how she held a grudge against them for treating the witches badly.
Now what? Was she to eat her words?
The moment the girl with neatly cut shoulder-length hair walked into his office, Caleb knew she was his.
His wolf could never be wrong about such a thing. Her soothing rosy smell was like nothing he’d scented before.
He was lost in her doe-brown eyes, mesmerized by her vibrant aura.
"Hello, baby," He said as he slowly approached her.
"Man! That was smooth!" Sandra giggled like an idiot.
Audrey glared at her, shutting her up.
Alex shook his head and dragged Sandra out with him.
"They need some privacy, you dummy," He said to the resisting Sandra.
"Aw, shoot, now I’m gonna miss the whole drama, sad," Sandra said, pouting as she sat on the bench outside the hallway.
Audrey felt awkward standing between the new lovers.
She knew her cousin would like Caleb, he checked all her boxes, handsome, handsome, and handsome.
But, she also knew that Maria would be reluctant with him because she would think she was betraying her and their coven by accepting a wolf as her mate.
She gently patted Maria’s shoulder, giving her a slight nod.
"I’ll give you two some privacy, call us in when you’re done talking," Audrey said to Caleb and walked out.
"Hey," Maria said awkwardly.
"Hey love would sound better, don’t you think, baby?" Caleb asked, taking slow steps towards Maria.
Maria took a step back with each forward step Caleb took, her back met the wall and she knew there was nowhere else to go.
"But, we just met, we hardly know each other," Maria reasoned as Caleb caged her between his hands.
"It doesn’t matter, you’re my mate. It means we were meant for each other, why would I waste time in formality instead of loving you head-on?" Caleb said to her.
Maria’s heart was beating rapidly, she’d never felt such magnetism for someone before, not even Cody.
She looked up at him and saw the sincerity in his blue eyes.
"But, I’m a witch..." She trailed off.
What if he turned out to be like Alpha Lake who hated witches, would he reject her?
"That’s a bonus, love. I love witches," He whispered into her ears, sending shivers down her spine.
"Fuck, you’re just what I needed," He growled as he buried his nose inside her neck, dragging her scent into his nostrils with his eyes closed.
Maria was breathing heavily, the tip of his nose felt like a lighter that ignited a burning flame within her as it touched the skin of her neck.
"I want you, baby," Caleb rasped.
"Do you accept me?" His voice was shaky.
He had a little doubt at the back of his mind, scared she would reject him.
Maria raised her hand and palmed his face, looking into his eyes.
Caleb closed his eyes at the feel of her hand on his face, he raised his hand and placed it over hers.
"I promise I’ll take care of you. Please, I want as my-" His eyes widened like saucers as he felt his little witch press her plump lips against his.
He immediately kissed her back, smiling as he did.
She accepted him.
He drew her into his arms and deepened their kiss, marveling at how soft her lips were.
He sneaked his hand behind her and grabbed her ass, massaging it like he owned it. He did.
"They’re waiting for us," Maria broke away from him, her cheeks red as a tomato.
She couldn’t believe what she had just done, she never expected any of this to happen.
She was feeling a whirlwind of emotions at the same time.
"Okay, princess," He placed his forehead on hers as they were both smiling from ear to ear, looking into each other’s eyes.
"I’ll get them, come sit here," He took her to sit on the chair beside his own.
"Thank you," Maria’s face couldn’t get redder as it was.
"Give me a sec," He spoke softly to her, patting her hair.
"Come on in," Caleb said speaking to Audrey and her friends as he opened his office door.
"Whew! What a long conversation," Sandra mumbled.
"Let’s go," Audrey said and walked into the office.
They were surprised to see Maria sitting comfortably beside Caleb’s chair, but they didn’t comment on that.
They sat in front of the table, watching as Caleb lowered himself onto the chair next to Maria.
"First of all, I would like to say thank you," Caleb said to Audrey.
"Why?" Audrey asked.
"For bringing my mate to me. She’s the best thing to ever happen to me," He turned to Maria with a sweet smile on his face.
Audrey looked from Sandra to Alex, three of them aware of the situation already.
"Yeah, that’s lovely, but we don’t want to hear how sweet you both are to each other, right friends?" Sandra asked, smirking mischievously.
"Mm," Alex nodded.
"We just came to deliver your new assistant to you, but, it seems like she’s going to be more than just an assistant," Audrey looked at Maria who was looking everywhere but at her.
"Anyways," She stood up, tapping Sandra’s shoulder, "We’ll get out of your hair, your mate will fill you in on the details, if, she gets the chance...easy with the pheromones, this is a hospital, not a motel," Audrey winked at them, leisurely walking out of the office.
Alex just stood and followed Audrey behind, he was already feeling awkward with their intrusion with the new lovers.
"See you around, friend," Sandra gave Maria a thumbs-up before running out of the room.
"Aww, love is sweet," Sandra said dreamily as they walked past the hospital.
"Yeah, for the lucky ones," Audrey said.
Alex looked at Audrey, wanting to say something to her but he refrained.
"I’m hungry," Sandra said.
"Let’s check this place out, it’s new," Alex pointed at the restaurant a few blocks ahead.
"Okay," Audrey nodded.
"I wonder where my mate is hiding, look, the new witch already snatched our handsome Doctor," Sandra sighed sipping her cola.
"Probably dead," Alex replied, chuckling.
"Fuck you too, Alex," Sandra gave him the finger.
"Oh well... You’ll find out, soon, the full moon is almost here, anyway," Audrey sighed, stirring her food idly.
"Aren’t you curious, too?" Alex asked Audrey, staring meaningfully at her.
"Nah, I wish the full moon never comes, it’s a disaster," Audrey shrugged.
"Oh," Alex was disheartened.
He wished Audrey could at least give him a chance, he’d loved her for way too long, and he believed strongly that they were meant for each other.
He had changed not long ago, just a year before Audrey’s disappearance, he never got the chance to meet her wolf, and now, she was hiding her wolf and masking her scent, and he couldn’t tell if she was his mate or not.
"But, hey!" Audrey nudged Alex by the side.
"What about you two? You were here last year, why didn’t you find your mates?" Audrey questioned.
She never minded it but as they were now talking about it, she couldn’t help but wonder why her friends were still mateless.
"Ah, you see, after you left, this one..." Sandra artist Alex with her fork. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"He went away too, visiting his grandparents in Australia, So he missed the full moon," Sandra said, taking another sip of her cola.
"Feels good talking about others right? How about we hear your story?" Alex asked.
"I was rejected," Sandra said.
"What?!"
"What?!"
Audrey and Alex asked at the same time. They were shocked by Sandra’s unexpected reply.
They looked at each other in disbelief, how did they not know about this?
"But it’s okay, he gave me his reasons, he had a fiancé," Sandra said, trying to stop her voice from cracking.
Audre drew her chair close to her and hugged her tightly, Alex joined them, softly patting Sandra’s hair.
"His loss, he’s a fool for doing that to you," Audrey said.
Her heart broke as she saw the tears flowing down her always cheerful friend’s cheeks.
Anger boiled deep within her.
"Don’t worry, you’ll get a second chance mate, and he’ll love you endlessly," Alex consoled.
"You think?" Sandra asked, sniffing her nose.
"Yes, Sandy. We believe so," Audrey wiped her tears off her cheeks.
"But, I didn’t accept his rejection," Sandra confessed.
"Aw, poor baby, don’t worry, as long as your second chance mate accepts you, your bond with him will be broken," Audrey explained with a smile.
"B-but, he’s back," Sandra said, looking from Audrey to Alex.
"What?" Audrey asked, anger threatening to overcome her.
