Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 62: The ride

Sandra nodded her head at Audrey, gulping down her soda cola in a go.

"He came back for the coming full moon?" Audrey asked unbelievably.

"Mm," Sandra nodded.

"Why?! What happened to his stupid fiancé?" Audrey was provoked.

"Where is he?" Alex asked.

"Yeah, so, do you happen to know his location, like, right now?" Audrey asked with a sinister expression.

"Oh no, you guys, you won’t!" Sandra chuckled.

"Watch us," Alex threatened.

"I’ll really enjoy burning all the hair in his head till there’s none left," Audrey smiled evilly.

Sandra laughed, "Can you?" She asked amidst her laughter.

"I can even burn his brows if you’d let me," Audrey said seriously.

"Nah, he’s not worth it, I’ll just ignore him," Sandra sighed.

"Come on, let’s finish up and go see what’s going on with those two love birds," Sandra said, changing the topic.

She didn’t want them confronting her mate, not because she was scared for him, but because she didn’t want him thinking he was important to the extent of discussing him with her friends, it would only feed his useless ego.

After eating, Audrey left them to return to the Packhouse while they went to the hospital to check how Maria was doing as if they really needed to know how she was doing.

They were just being busybodies.

Audrey stood in the general living room, contemplating whether she should go help Ms. Bridget in the kitchen or go up to the condo.

She was about to take a step toward the kitchen when she heard footsteps coming up the stairs.

"Sweetcheeks!" Alpha Sebastian called excitedly as he came down the stairs.

"Hey," Audrey smiled.

Alpha Sebastian came down and engulfed Audrey in a hug.

"I haven’t seen you in such a long time, you look prettier," He whispered close to her ear.

"Aww, thank you, and you’re as handsome as ever," She replied with a smile.

She felt the two pairs of eyes digging holes into her back but she refused to look at him.

"You left since the gala, Where’d you go?" Audrey asked.

"Oh, some bastards were trying to mess with my Pack, but it’s settled now," Alpha Sebastian said.

"Who were the bastards?" Audrey asked, she wanted to find out if it was witches rogues, or even politicians, she wanted to know if it was anything connected to her sister.

"Rogues, but they didn’t seem like themselves, they looked like they’ve been possessed and being controlled by someone far away," Alpha Sebastian explained.

"Really?" Audrey asked.

"Yeah, but, hey, I handled it, how about you and I catch up later, Mr. Grumpy over there needs to check the new construction," Alpha Sebastian pointed at Alpha Lake.

Audrey finally looked at Alpha Lake, and as expected, his sight was darkly fixed on her, or rather, on Alpha Sebastian’s hand which was resting on her waist.

"Can I join you guys, I’ll love to see how it’s coming up," Audrey asked Alpha Sebastian.

"Sure," He replied and led her outside.

Audrey felt the lurking shadow of Alpha Lake following them behind.

"We’ll use the car, Sweetcheeks," Alpha Sebastian said as the car rolled over.

"That far?" Audrey questioned.

She thought their destination was just close by, why would the gym and recreational center be far away from the Packhouse?

Audrey was surprised to see Andrew come out from the front door.

"Alpha," Andrew said as he opened the back door for Alpha Lake.

Audrey started to sense danger when Alpha Lake sent her a smirk before he entered the car.

"Um, I think I’ll go check the site some other time, I have something to attend to," Audrey turned around to leave.

She knew what Alpha Lake was thinking, and she wasn’t going to fall into his trap so foolishly.

There was no way she was going to sit gummed to him for the whole ride, she knew him, he wasn’t going to keep his hands to himself.

"Wait, Sweetcheeks!" Alpha Sebastian held Audrey back by the arm.

"Huh?" Audrey sighed. There’s no such thing as escaping.

"Ride with us, please, It’ll be so dull without you, look," He pointed at Alpha Lake sitting inside the car, "He’s such a wet blanket," He whispered to Audrey, and gently pushed her to enter the car, beside Alpha Lake.

Alpha Sebastian was about to enter the car when he heard a voice stopping him.

"Hey, wait! Please wait for me!" Adeline shouted from a distance, pausing Alpha Sebastian from entering the car.

"Is she supposed to come?" Alpha Sebastian put his head into the car and asked.

"Nope," Andrew replied with a scowl.

Audrey could see Alpha Lake’s features darkening as Adeline neared.

"Sorry I’m late, I kinda slept off-"

"Then go back to sleep, the car is full," Andrew said coldly.

"I don’t mind, I’ll sit on Alpha Lake’s laps-"

"Oops! It’s taken too," Audrey hopped on Alpha Lake’s lap, smiling triumphantly at Adeline.

Even though she claimed that she didn’t want him as a mate, she would never allow Adeline to have him, never.

She was such a green snake in a green grass, and her time was coming.

Everyone was shocked, except Henry who sat comfortably on the driver’s seat, smirking. He was used to this already.

Alpha Sebastian and Andrew had an unreadable expression on their faces.

First, they knew Audrey’s real identity, and they couldn’t believe she would willingly initiate bodily contact with the person she hated so much.

Second, their jealousy was overflowing, even Henry noticed the change in their countenance.

Adeline had an Image to protect, so, no matter how provoked she was by Audrey’s action, she couldn’t show it. She only smiled and nodded her head.

"I’ll just get in then," She said and went into the car, sitting beside Audrey and Alpha Lake.

Alpha Sebastian reluctantly got in, not liking the outcome of the event.

He had thought he would have sat beside Audrey through the ride, having a nice chat and all, but instead, he was sitting beside a white moon!

Alpha Sebastian would have refused her joining them, but he knew she was also a part of the architects who planned the construction. It would be unreasonable to ask her to leave.

"Move," Andrew instructed

"Yes, beta," Henry replied and revved the engine, driving off.

All these while, Alpha Lake had his arms around Audrey’s waist the moment she sat on his lap, he was living in the moment.

This was the first time Audrey was taking the initiative to claim him outside. He didn’t know it, but he had a full-blown smile on his face.

Audrey sat still, the aftermath of her actions setting in as everywhere became quiet inside the car.

She felt Alpha Lake’s hand softly caressing the side of her waist, the action making her feel delirious.

She slid her hand to the side and held it over his, thinking it would stop him, but he went ahead and started caressing the insides of her palm, dragging his thumb from her wrist to her palm.

Audrey exhaled deeply, trying to get enough oxygen into her lungs as she felt her breath coming short from Alpha Lake’s little game with her hand.

She set her eyes on the road, trying to distract herself from the trees and cars they drove by, but it didn’t work, her mind was acutely aware of the thumb that was drawing slow circles inside her palm.

"Uh!" Adeline suddenly leaned to her right, resting her head on Alpha Lake’s shoulder as their car galloped.

"Easy, Henry," Alpha Lake cautioned, holding Audrey more tightly against himself.

"You okay, Adeline?" Alpha Lake asked.

"I am now," Adeline nodded her head, still resting against his shoulder.

Audrey felt angry seeing what Adeline was playing at. She knew the gallop wasn’t that harsh, and even if it was, it was over and she didn’t need to keep resting on his shoulder.

What got her angrier was that Alpha Lake didn’t even make any move to push her away.

If there was space left in the car, she would have gotten down from his lap, she didn’t want to look like an understanding girlfriend who accepted an open relationship with her boyfriend.

"Here you are, much better, right?" Alpha Sebastian pulled Adeline away from Alpha Lake’s shoulder, setting her up straight on the seat.

"Uh, yes, thank you, Alpha Sebastian," Adeline said with a kind smile, but deep down, she was internally cursing Alpha Sebastian with all the profanities she knew.

"Any time, anywhere, Adeline," Alpha Sebastian said with a satisfied grin.

He hated her!

"We’ve arrived," Henry announced.

Audrey quickly opened the door and jumped out of the car, looking around eagerly and pretending to be so excited about the place.

"Alpha Lake! Welcome!" Mr. Sullivan said as he gingerly ran from the other side of the car.

The moment he saw Audrey, his gait slowed, the excitement was gone from his face and voice.

He looked towards his daughter to check if she was still in one piece or if Audrey had harmed her as she promised him back at Alpha Lake’s club.

"Daddy, I brought him to see the building," Adeline went over to be father and hooked her arm around his.

"Oh, yes, I see," Mr. Sullivan replied, flustered.

"Show us to the gym, Sullivan," Alpha Lake ordered and walked ahead, taking Audrey’s hand in his.
