Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 102: Time-Travelling
"Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! What are we going to do?!" Sandra asked anxiously, she was audibly shaking and hyperventilating.
Maria was scared too, but she needed to stay calm for her powers to be effective.
She quickly leaned over Audrey and tried to heal her by placing her hands over her forehead, but she instantly withdrew them from the shock she got from touching Audrey’s skin.
She scanned her eyes helplessly around the room, and when her eyes landed on Sandra who was busy walking back and forth and biting her nails, she suddenly remembered something.
"Alpha Lake!" Maria said in a shaky loud voice. She understood that only her mate could hold her at that moment.
"Yes? Huh! What?!" Sandra didn’t understand a thing Maria said or what she was replying to either.
"Get yourself together and get Alpha Lake!!!" Maria shouted at Sandra.
"I’m sorry, yes, Alpha Lake!" Sandra vigorously nodded and ran up the stairs.
Before she could reach his door, the door was forcefully opened, and he came running down the stairs straight to Audrey.
"What happened?!" He asked murderously, instantly lifting Audrey off the floor and carrying her up to the house, going straight for her room.
Maria and Sandra immediately followed him behind, running up the stairs in a rush.
They entered Audrey’s room and saw Alpha Lake gently placing her on the bed. Her seizure seemed to have calmed, but she still looked like she was in serious pain.
"Hey, Kitten, you’re alright, you’re alright baby, I’m here," Alpha Lake knelt beside the bed and and held Audrey’s hand in his, gently caressing her hair.
Maria and Sandra quietly entered the room, staring admiringly at the couple. They noticed that Audrey seemed to have relaxed a bit from Alpha Lake’s touch, just furrowing her brows now and then.
"A...mu...let," Audrey mumbled almost inaudibly.
"What did she say?" Alpha Lake stood and leaned over Audrey, placing his ear close to her mouth.
Maria and Sandra also went closer to the bed, to listen to what Audrey was saying.
"A...mu..let," Audrey said, much louder this time.
"Amulet! She said amulet!" Sandra said in a loud and anxious voice.
"Where’s it?" Alpha Lake asked, looking at Maria.
Maria quickly scanned Audrey’s hand but couldn’t find the pixie dust bag anywhere on her, around her, or in the room.
"Um, I gave it to her," Maria scratched the side of her neck.
"Wait! I know, I think it must’ve fallen off somewhere in the living room," Sandra said and immediately ran out of the room.
She rushed through the door and down the stairs. Her eyes meticulously searched the whole area but she couldn’t find anything.
She decided to go look under the huge sofas, even though she knew Audrey never went that way; she just wanted to make sure she didn’t miss any spot in case it had somehow managed to slide under there.
"Hey," Someone tapped her back as she was busy searching under the sofa.
She stood up to see Alex wearing his blue shorts and an oversized T-shirt that looked way bigger than his size.
It wasn’t his.
She furrowed her brows at him; this was the first time she’d seen him since yesterday; where had he been?
"What are you looking for?" Alex asked, looking around the area as if he would see what Sandra was searching for.
Sandra released a loud sigh and shoved her fingers into her hair.
"Have you seen a small pixie dust bag? It has Audrey’s amulet, and she seems to be in dire need of it at the moment," Sandra asked worriedly.
Alex put his hand in his left pocket and brought out the bag, showing it to Sandra.
"Wait, this? I had just picked it up a few minutes a-"
"Yes! Thank you!" Sandra snatched it from him and sprinted up to the Alpha’s condo.
Alex stood confused for a while before he decided to follow her and go check how Audrey was doing.
Sandra’s eyes shined with happiness as she stared at the bag in her hand; she eagerly opened the door and entered Audrey’s room.
Alpha Lake had now joined her in the bed, nestling her head on his lap while softly caressing her hair.
He sharply turned to the door as it opened, noticing Alex walk in after Sandra.
"Did you find it?" He asked urgently.
"Yes, here it is," Sandra gave the pixie dust bag to Alpha Lake and went to join her friends to stand beside Audrey’s dressing table.
"Hey kitten, this is your amulet," Alpha Lake spoke softly, gently opening her hand and dropping the amulet onto it.
Audrey felt something in her hand and felt an instant sharp pain in her head.
"Argh!!!" She screamed so loudly.
Alpha Lake looked distressed, he lifted Audrey and placed her full body across his lap, carrying her like a baby and nestling her head against his chest.
"It’s okay, my love, it okay," He whispered into her ears.
"What the fuck did you do to her?!" Alpha Lake growled at the three friends.
"No-nothing!" Sandra was the one who had the spontaneous reply. She was startled by the Alpha’s anger and suddenly stepped back to be farther away from him, but she lost her footing and fell to the floor, blindly holding onto the drawer handle as she fell, but it failed her.
The drawer easily slid out and landed hard on her head, scattering the contents all over the floor.
"She just made it worse," Alex muttered, not bothering to help Sandra up.
"No, actually, she did the opposite," Maria replied, focusing on something that had also fallen from the drawer.
She stepped over Sandra and walked toward Audrey’s wardrobe, bending down to pick up the other half of the amulet that Audrey had found in her garden.
"What’s that?" Alpha Lake asked.
"It’s the other half of the amulet, Alpha," Maria said and walked over to the bed.
Alpha Lake frowned hard. There was another amulet? He thought it was just this one he had taken from her years ago that existed, and he remembered from the visions he saw that Audrey also had a half-amulet around her neck. Did he miss something?
But he wasn’t questioning anything now, he just wanted his mate to be okay.
"Here," Maria said as she gave it to him.
Alpha Lake didn’t waste any time and quickly placed it in Audrey’s hand, which had the other amulet, "Hey, Audrey, we found the amulets; everything is going to be okay now, Kitten," Alpha Lake said and placed a tender kiss on Audrey’s forehead.
Sandra stood from the floor, angrily eyeing Maria and Sandra, but she quickly ignored the traitors and focused on Audrey.
"Um, If I may, Alpha, I think she says the amulets have to be joined together as one," Sandra informed.
Alpha Lake held Audrey’s palm in his and stared at the red-colored, half-moon-shaped ruby amulets; he realized that, just as Sandra said, they could be fixed together.
He slowly brought up her other hand, put the amulets on each hand, and softly whispered into her ears.
"They’re in your hand, love," Alpha Lake said.
Audrey twitched her eyes as she heard the familiar voice beside her ear. Through the throbbing pain in her head, she forced her brain to understand the words that were being whispered to her, and when she did, she managed to painstakingly move her hands, wincing.
She now held the amulets on each hand between her fingers and slowly brought them close to each other.
Everyone watched with maximum anticipation as Audrey’s hands slowly brought the amulets together, and the moment she fixed them, a soft clicking of pieces joining together was heard across the room and that was all.
Audrey weakly let the amulet fall onto her chest, feeling instant relief from the strange pain she was having all over her body.
She opened her eyes and the first thing she saw was the familiar grey eyes of her mate staring worriedly at her.
There was something about the way he was looking at her that made her feel so cherished, loved, and secure. At that moment, she saw what she meant to him through his eyes.
The eyes were really the window to a man’s soul.
She raised her hand to his chiseled jaw and caressed his sharp edges, giving him a soft beautiful smile.
"My love," Alpha Lake smiled like a teenager in love as he saw Audrey’s sweet smile.
He released the breath he didn’t know he’d been holding, tenderly pinching her blushed cheeks.
"You scared us, you witch," Sandra suddenly said and walked toward the bed but Alex drew her bag immediately, pointing his finger to his head, silently asking her if she had gone crazy.
Audrey didn’t know she wasn’t alone with Alpha Lake in the room; she turned her head to the side and smiled at her friends. "I’m sorry guys, I don’t know what happened," She apologized to them.
"Don’t worry, you weren’t much of a bother," Alex said.
"Says the one who went missing almost the whole episode," Maria replied.
"Everyone...leave..." Audrey said weakly as she placed her hand on the amulet on her chest, feeling a humming energy emanating from it. She knew something was about to happen, and she didn’t want to drag anyone into it with her.
Alpha Lake looked alarmed as he saw her eyes closing again. He quickly shook her shoulder, calling out her name, but she didn’t respond.
"Sandra, look what you did!" Alex accusingly pointed at Sandra and then at Audrey.
"What? No, I didn’t!" Sandra retorted, already starting to lift her weight from one foot to the other in renewed anxiety.
"Shh, guys?..." Maria called spookily.
"What?!"
"What?!" Sandra and Alex added at the same time.
Maria slowly pointed at Audrey’s chest, "It’s glowing," She said. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"What- Oh my goddess! She’s glowing!" Sandra screamed.
The amulet in Audrey’s chest started from a low white light and suddenly turned bright, engulfing Audrey’s whole body.
Everyone was just about to look for how to manage the situation when suddenly, the light was bright and blinding, traveling across the whole room.
"Everyone, to the floor!!!" Maria screamed and instantly fell to the floor, covering her hands over her eyes.
The last thing they all remembered where falling on top of each other in Audrey’s room.
But when they stood, why were they seeing themselves in a strange battlefield, fighting dark witches and weird creatures?
