Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 103: Alpha Lake’s Death
Audrey felt herself forcefully sucked into another time and place, a battlefield filled with creatures of furry, and in that moment, she knew; she had time-traveled, but she didn’t travel alone.
Amid the chaotic battlefield, she heard the distant voice of Alpha Lake shouting her name from behind. She was about to turn and go to him when she heard Sandra’s voice shouting for her to watch out.
She immediately turned towards Sandra’s direction to see what she was talking about, and, when she did, she was too late to dodge the iron spear aiming right at her chest.
But when she thought she would feel the impact, it effortlessly passed through her like she was made of wind, and the next thing she heard was Alpha’s Lake’s familiar voice groaning loudly in pain.
Without thinking, she ran towards him and fell beside him; blood was already pouring out from his mouth and nose.
In despair, Audrey wanted to lift his head onto her lap, but when she went to touch him, her hand weaved through his body like he was a ghost, just like the spear did her.
She frowned hard, desperation and despair taking over her; she needed to save him, but how was she supposed to do that if she couldn’t even touch him?
Audrey kept trying and trying to make solid contact with the dying Alpha Lake, but all her attempts failed, just like the first time.
"No!!!" Audrey threw her head back and screamed at the top of her lungs in pain.
Why was this happening to her? Just when she thought something beautiful was becoming of them, a tragedy still befell them.
Audrey fell near Alpha Lake and wept like a child, the sound of war still going on around her, but she couldn’t care less.
What was the use for fighting? She wished the spear didn’t miss her, then, she would have died in place of him. After all, her life has been tragic since the beginning, it was only right she was the one to die.
"Hey, hey, don’t cry, I’m right here with you," Audrey was shocked to hear Alpha Lake’s voice above her.
And when she felt his familiar touch trying to lift her from the ground, she immediately rose and dived him in a tight hug, that kind of hug we would give a dear loved one when we thought we’d lost them but suddenly realized it was a rumor.
From her peripheral vision, she still saw the person she had mistook as Alpha Lake lying dead on the floor, the sight disturbed her.
She appreciated every bit of the man that now stood before her, and from then, she made up her mind to cherish every second around him, whoever was lying on the floor had just made her realize that she had to treat the people around her with love, death was uncertain and could happen any second.
"I thought I lost you," Audrey cried, burying her face in his neck.
"I’m right here, I’m not going anywhere," He hugged her more tightly.
"Audrey! What’s going on?!" Alex asked as they ran over to them.
Audrey drew Alpha Lake’s scent into her nostrils before she slowly withdrew from him.
She took her time to look around the whole place; it seemed like they’d been put into a movie scene to witness the actions firsthand and not allowed to alter anything from the scene.
Audrey observed the dark witches fighting against the werewolves and white witches; she knew this was more like a warning and vision for her; she’d been shown what was going to happen, and somehow, it was expected of her to do something and prevent it from happening.
"We just traveled to the future," Audrey informed.
"Cool!" Alex exclaimed.
"Cool?" Sandra asked.
"How do we get back?" Maria asked, looking around the whole place.
"I’m trying to figure that out,"
"Audrey, look," Alex pouted behind them to the supposed dead Alpha Lake.
Audrey turned behind her and found herself looking at her replica who was running toward the dead Alpha Lake and falling on top of him with a heartbreaking scream leaving her mouth.
They all watched as the future Audrey cried helplessly over Alpha Lake’s body, wailing and cursing the moon goddess. The sight was heartbreaking and seemed so real as if it was already happening.
Alpha Lake gently put his hand around Audrey and drew her closer to him, "I’m right here, love," Alpha Lake whispered to Audrey when he saw how disturbed she looked.
Audrey slowly nodded, hugging his waist with her hands.
They quietly watched on, each locking their gaze on their future-cloned selves as they gathered around the crying Audrey, grief evident on their faces as they watched her cry her heart out.
At that moment, the present group and the future group stood opposite each other, staring at the unfortunate scene.
"Selena, what’s this?" Audrey whispered.
’Just like you’ve guessed, Audrey, this is a vision, a premonition, a warning,’ Selena replied.
Audrey closed her eyes shut, calming her nerves. She knew emotions were the key to witches’ art, and if she wanted to find out what was happening, she needed to do it with a clear head, and definitely not here; she needed to leave that place; the whole ambiance was depressing.
"How do I leave, Selena?" Audrey questioned.
She heard Selena sigh inside her head, ’The way you came, of course,’ Selena replied.
Audrey racked her brain but couldn’t remember anything about how she came here and how she even managed to bring her friends with her.
The only thing she remembered was feeling a calm humming energy from her amulet, and the next thing she knew was that she found herself in the middle of a battlefield.
"How?" She asked.
"Who’s she talking to?" Alex asked.
"Shh. Her spirit guide," Maria replied, narrowing her eyes as the wind started to pick up.
"Woah, is that..." Sandra paused in shock, pointing her hand In front of them.
"A tornado!" Alex replied in a scared tone.
They looked up and became alarmed at the gigantic tornado that was heading toward them at high speed.
"Fuck, we’re dead" Alex muttered.
Audrey closed her eyes and concentrated on her mind since Selena had refused to reply to her anymore.
"Everyone, hold hands together!" Audrey shouted, not opening her eyes.
They immediately obeyed and linked their hands together, fear gripping their hearts as they saw the tornado whirling faster toward them.
"You can do it, Kitten," Alpha Lake whispered.
And just like that, as if Alpah Lake’s voice was the core energy supply she needed, she instantly locked out every other sound, thinking about only his voice and touch.
She envisioned her and her friends back in her room, and soon, the bright light suddenly engulfed them, transporting them out of the battle scene just when the tornado would have swallowed them.

Andrew had come up to Alpha Lake’s house to discuss the upcoming opening of the new gym and recreational center for the children.
But as he entered the house, the first thing he heard was the sacred scream of his mate in Audrey’s room; he frowned, confused because he was sure he left him in his room that morning; when did he get up here?
He quickly ran up to Audrey’s room and surprisingly found it open; he walked in but couldn’t see anyone in there.
He scratched the side of his head in utter perplexity. Had he become so obsessed with his mate that he now heard his voice in his head?
"I must be going crazy," He shook his head at himself and turned to walk away from the room, but he suddenly closed his eyes from the bright light that came from Audrey’s mirror, and just as if he had imagined it, it was gone.
He slowly opened his eyes and almost died of a heart attack; he tightly held the door handle to keep himself from falling to the floor.
His eyes stared in disbelief as he realized that he was no longer the only one in the room.
He watched on in shock as Audrey casually lay on Alpah Lake’s lap on top of her bed, while the three friends lay on top of each other on the floor with their hands protectively over their heads.
He observed them and noticed that they weren’t moving and decided to go touch them and see if he could wake them up.
He first went over to Alex and tapped his cheek, but he didn’t respond. He tried it with Sandra and Maria, and they still didn’t respond.
He walked over to the bed and saw the way Alpha Lake was staring helplessly at Audrey’s furrowed brows.
He decided to tap Alpha Lake first, but still, nothing; then he reached his hand down for Audrey, praying to the moon goddess for her to be their liberation, because if not, then he would be completely helpless on how to help them.
He slowly tapped Audrey’s arm... nothing.
He was becoming anxious; he placed his hand under her nose and sighed in relief as he felt the hot breath coming out from it; at least they were alive.
But, how was he supposed to wake them?
He gently tapped Audrey’s arm again and again, but nothing happened.
He grew very worried and quickly walked toward the door to go get Ms. Bridget and Dr. Caleb for help, but just before he could cross his foot through the door, he heard Audrey’s soft sneeze.
He instantly turned and returned to the room and watched as everyone sharply drew in the air into their lungs; Alpha Lake just blinked his eyes and looked around the room as if he were confirming their location while holding Audrey tightly in his arms.
"Baby!" Alex exclaimed and excitedly pushed Sandra off him and ran to Andrew.
Andrew easily caught him as Alex wrapped his legs around his waist.
Everyone stared at them with shock.
Audrey and Alpha Lake shared a surprised look but Audrey just giggled and shook her head.
It is what it is then.
"I knew it!" Sandra said from the floor, pointing accusingly at Alex and Andrew.
Maria just stared like a cow chewing grass, not knowing what to do. She had just come out of a surprise journey just to be faced with another surprise.
"What happened?" Andrew asked.
Everyone turned to Audrey, also wanting to know what had just happened to them.
