Catherine hoped that he would get her clue and not stretch this matter further, leave her alone and just focus on the mission.

Lukas smirked and applied the brakes. How could he not understand her meaning but that was impossible when he already wanted her as his woman.

If she agreed silently then good, if not then he would have to show her that it’s the rule of the jungle now. He wouldn’t force her physically, he would just show her the reality. If she wanted to save her people in the camp then no matter what she have to agree.

Catherine immediately became alert when the car stopped and looked at him while opening her seatbelt just in case.

Lukas looked at her back with a smile, "Look Miss Catherine sooner or later you will definitely be forced to do something which you don’t want.

Catherine understood that very well too but she was hoping that her evolver status would give her some leverage after all there are not many evolvers in the world and every shelter would want one..., "What about your shelter? Don’t they need evolvers?"

Lukas looked at her with an amused expression, he was exaggerating things no doubt and it’s true any shelter would want to give evolvers special treatment but she has a weakness, her daughter and it’s easy to exploit.

"I can see that you are betting on your status as evolver Miss Catherine but never forget that you have a weakness... as for my shelter, well we do need evolvers but we can do without them too, so your value isn’t as much as you think..."

Catherine felt a lump in her throat when she heard that, she understood very well what Lukas was implying. Her hopes which she had developed after Lukas told them he would bring them to safety were broken instantly.

She felt that her beauty was really a curse, "Tell me one thing will your shelter protect my people in the camp or did you just give them false hope to just get your hands on me?"

Lukas looked at her deeply, Catherine’s voice felt like she had given up on everything. He sighed inwardly, it felt a little bad breaking her like this but there was no other way.

If she really is a morally strong woman then why would she just become his woman.

"Well we have to see that, I just came in search of survivors on my own without discussing about it but nonetheless more hands are always welcomed in shelters so they would definitely accept them..."

He was thinking of sending them to that military shelter, he didn’t want to bring them with himself. He would first create his base only then he would think if he wanted to expand or not.

"I see, so what do you want to do, ravage me? I should have known that nothing is free in this world, much less a rare skill..."

Lukas sighed, although her voice was calm he knew she was having an emotional outburst inside her, he didn’t know she was so fragile from inside.

Lukas really thought that she would put up resistance and only agree when she had no choice but she gave in to pressure quite easily.

Catherine closed her eyes and took a deep breath, "Weak huh! I guess I am, when I was only twenty, I was forced to marry due to my parents’ political benefits. They said I will live like a queen.

I accepted that because I was weak to resist, later my husband cheated on me but my parents told me to not file for divorce and think about Lillian who was very small at that time, I accepted as I again was weak to stand against them.
