"So what have you decided Miss Catherine, are you coming with me or not? If you don’t want to go then just say no, no need to feel apprehensive of me," Lukas spoke again with an innocent face, inwardly though he knew his words would do the opposite effect and force her to accept.

Catherine who was a little terrified inside and didn’t want to say no to Lukas, even if Lukas wanted to bring her as a shield she would agree. The fact that he could literally force her to follow him yet wasn’t doing it was already commendable.

She wasn’t too naive to not know how the world was right now. She was grateful for getting evolved or else she would be dead or a sex slave of someone along with her daughter. She knew very well how beautiful she and her daughter were.

"I will go with you young man, this is all I can do for those who died because of the decision I made..." Catherine still blamed herself for the deaths of the others.

"Miss Catherine it wasn’t your fault, we all came to that decision..." One of the men immediately spoke.

"Yes mom, please stop blaming yourself..." The girl standing beside Catherine grabbed her hand while pouting.

Lukas had a feeling that the girl was Catherine’s daughter but he was still surprised... ’Did she get pregnant in her early twenties?’... There was no other explanation otherwise.

Catherine sighed, "Stop you all, it is something which I have to take responsibility for. This is what is really meant by the responsibility of a leader... Mr. Lukas when do you want to go?"

Lukas gave a small smile while shaking his head, "I am too young to be called Mr. by you Miss Catherine"

Catherine shook her head, "Strong people deserve respect in this forsaken world, so it is only natural that I address you properly"

Lukas didn’t mind her calling him mister, in fact he would rather prefer if she would call him lord, "As you wish, let’s go right now..."

Catherine nodded and was about to say something when her daughter spoke.

"W-what about the skill—"

"Lillian..." Catherine immediately stopped her from speaking, she didn’t care about the skill now. As long as Lukas brought them to safety after they came back, it would be more than enough.

"It’s alright, here take it..." Lukas extended his hand and the skill orb appeared in it.

This action shocked everyone again. They really didn’t know how he did it. Was this some kind of skill too...

Lukas sighed looking at the stunned Catherine and spoke again, "Miss Catherine, take it"

Catherine came out of her stupor, "A-Ah yes, Thank you"

She took the shining gold orb with a little trembling hand. She could easily see that it was far better than the previous common orb she had seen.

The others also looked at it with fervent gazes while Adrian looked at it sneakily feeling immensely jealous inwardly.

Lukas understood their feelings, an evolver is only helpful when he has learned a skill or else he isn’t much different than a normal human.

Catherine didn’t wait any longer and used the orb. The skill melted inside her and she looked at her status before activating it. Her skin shone with a metallic luster.

Lukas thought that would be it but Catherine went near a tree and used her hands like claws to scrape it.

Her fingers tore through the tree easily leaving four deep grooves.

Lukas was surprised so it wasn’t just a defensive skill, it also gave her a little strength and her nails were sharp as knives. As expected of a rare skill.

"I feel stronger now..." Catherine was amazed too. She was also very happy inside, with this she won’t have to worry about getting hurt by zombies. She could easily fight them even if they came in groups.

The people of the camp were happy too. They instinctively felt a little safer right now.

"Can we go now?" Lukas didn’t want to waste much time so he decided to break their peaceful moment.

"Yes, let’s go" Catherine nodded and looked at Lillian and the others, "Take care and keep an eye on Lillian"

Her words were for the guards who were loyal to her and they understood very well. That "keep an eye on Lillian" basically meant keep an eye on Adrian.

Lukas understood that so he decided to just do something about it. Having an evolver of level two who was feeling jealousy might not be too dangerous but it wasn’t totally safe either.

He looked at the guards and pointed his finger towards Adrian, "Tie him up..."

The guards got stunned but they also liked this idea. Catherine sighed but didn’t say anything as it really was the best option.

"Alright" The guards immediately nodded, it’s not their fault when a person who can kill them orders them to do something now is it?

One of the guards went and came back with a thick rope and they gathered around Adrian who snarled, "Don’t you dare—"

"Or what"

Lukas raised his eyebrows and Adrian immediately trembled inwardly.

The guards were easily able to tie him to a tree.

Catherine felt relaxed now and Lukas went towards his car and she followed.

After they both sat in and came out of the park, Lukas asked.

"Did they go in a particular direction?"

Catherine nodded, "Yes, that way"

Lukas saw the street she was pointing towards. It wasn’t towards the city but the outer area going towards the farm fields.

The forest and river were also accessible from this part of the city, they just had to go through the farms.

Lukas drove slowly and when they left the vicinity of the neighborhood, he finally decided to start his real mission.

"Miss Catherine, how did you get infected?"

Lukas had a feeling that those who had survived hadn’t found the real reason about who got infected first in the initial wave.

Maybe some people had decoded this by asking those who had survived and hadn’t got infected in the initial wave. There was only one common thing, none had done sex in a month.

This could be further verified by those who had evolved successfully, if they had done sex then it means those who got infected definitely did sex recently.

This wasn’t much hard to find in big shelters where there were a lot of people surviving by grouping up.

Nonetheless, for Catherine’s camp it was impossible to find out.

"Ohh that, I got scratched by a zombie as this outbreak happened when I was picking Lillian from school..." Catherine took a small breath, she was so scared that day.

Lukas nodded in understanding, so maybe she didn’t have any affairs like his aunt had mentioned but nonetheless he wanted to drive this conversation towards inappropriate topics.

"I see, here I was thinking something else..." Lukas shook his head while sighing.

Catherine became intrigued, "Like what? Did Mr. Lukas think that I was one of the first infected people"

Lukas nodded, "Yes..." After saying that he turned his eyes on her thighs, "After all you are so beautiful..."

Catherine was wearing a military suit. He didn’t know where she had found that but most of the people in the camp were wearing that.

This hid her thighs completely but the thickness was still at its peak.

Catherine became a little uncomfortable, she didn’t know why he was saying that. She knew that men always saw her with those eyes but till now Lukas felt like a good guy so why was he doing the same...

She became fearful now, did she make a huge mistake coming alone with him? In the camp there might have been a chance to overcome him if they hadn’t allowed him to use those arrows.

Nonetheless she still hoped that he wasn’t like those guys and knew how to control himself, "W-what do you mean Mr. Lukas" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Lukas removed his gaze and looked in front while slowing his speed further. Both sides of the road were open fields with destroyed crops and the straight road was completely empty, "Actually it is already known who were the people who got infected first Miss Catherine, that’s why I thought you would have been infected in the initial wave naturally"

Catherine got surprised, so it wasn’t random like everyone thought but what was the reason, why did he mention that her beauty would have influenced it...

Lukas looked at her expression and saw through her confusion, "Here’s the thing, only those people got infected in the first wave who had done sex recently... so given the fact that you are a divorcee... I thought you must have some flings"

Catherine’s eyes widened, now that she thought deeply, most people in her camp were those who hadn’t met with their partners for a long time or those who hadn’t married. So this really proved his point.

She also got shocked a little that he knew about her divorce, basically it meant he already knew who she was.

Lukas smiled innocently, "Don’t get too shocked, I only know you are a divorcee, nothing else"

Catherine came to her senses and immediately spoke, "I-I am not like those women"
