Harem Lord System: Post Apocalyptic World-Chapter 62: Come Out
Catherine stopped for a moment and sighed, "They haven’t returned either... that’s all we have been through now. We are already running low on food and we don’t have any bullets or firearms left to hunt safely.
We were just discussing what further actions we should take to survive when you arrived..."
Lukas nodded but his mind was still on the sudden departure of the dead walkers from this area.
Dead walkers can’t just leave an area filled with uninfected humans like that. There must be something that triggered them.
Was it some sound but why didn’t the people of the camp hear it? He really had to get to the bottom of this.
Catherine on the other hand was hopeful that Lukas had come to rescue them, if not then they would be doomed. Recently they had decided to leave this area and go towards the city. There might be a possibility of meeting a bigger group of survivors but the danger of meeting more dead walkers wasn’t any less either.
Lukas looked at her and gave a reassuring smile, "I understand your situation very well, I know that you all are hopeful that I will save you from this area and believe me, I will definitely save you but... first I want to check why those dead walkers left this area"
Catherine and the other two felt relieved when they heard the saving part but soon they became concerned about him going to check on the dead walkers.
Two of their groups hadn’t returned from the expedition and one group was with an evolver with a skill, so they felt that it was very dangerous to go there.
"It’s very dangerous young man, we all know that leveling up is quite hard, even after all these days I am still at level two along with this Adrian and we know that the increase in strength is minimal..." Catherine wanted to warn him, she had a feeling he also wouldn’t be much higher level.
Lukas smiled, "Don’t worry about it, I know that, it’s the skill which matters the most currently"
Catherine nodded as she had seen the effect of a skill with her own eyes.
Lukas suddenly thought of something and asked.
"What is your affinity Miss Catherine?"
He had skills on him and there was a chance that she had affinity with one of these elements.
If it was true then he wouldn’t mind giving her that skill. It’s not for free though even when he won’t ask anything in return.
According to his aunt she was a kind-hearted woman so she would definitely feel indebted to him. He could use that to emotionally pressure her.
He didn’t have time to win her heart in a slow manner. He would try to use the pressure of saving them and the value of the skill to get what he wanted.
If she wanted to hate him for that, then she could, all he cared about was her being part of his harem and unlocking his shop’s best part.
Catherine didn’t mind telling so she told him immediately, "Metal..."
Lukas’s eyes lit up when he heard that, he smiled with an innocent face, "Well you are in luck then, I have a metal skill orb on me..."
Catherine’s eyes widened slightly while others in the tent showed a mix of feelings of excitement and surprise.
"Ah... I see, young man if you want to sell it then you can tell me the price, if possible I really want to buy it..." Catherine had been hoping to get a skill for a long time now.
She may be a leader but that is only because she was the first evolver and others supported her due to her kindness but she also knows that Adrian was always eyeing that position...
She can’t let that happen at all costs, she knew how he always watches her and her daughter. No matter how discrete Adrian was, she wasn’t naive enough to not know that.
If she wanted to save her daughter then she had to become stronger and getting her hands on a skill was a must for her.
Lukas shook his head, "I doubt you have anything that is enough to buy it, after all it’s not common or uncommon tier skill, it’s a rare one..."
This sent shock through everyone, especially Catherine and Adrian.
Adrian didn’t even want to believe it, "Must be a lie..."
Lukas smirked, "No one asked you to believe it..."
Adrian’s face turned red while Catherine asked with a little eagerness in her voice.
"S-so is there any way I can get my hands on it..."
Lukas wanted to hear that, he would have said become his woman but he doubted that’s something she would accept directly, not to mention in front of so many people.
"Of course, didn’t I mention that you are in luck Miss Catherine..." Lukas again gave her an innocent smile, "All you have to do is tag along with me to figure out this abnormal behaviour of the zombies"
Catherine got stunned, while others became a little skeptical. It was dangerous after all.
Lukas decided to pursue her a little more, "Don’t worry about your safety Miss Catherine, I am not a suicidal person and I can assure you that we will safely come back..."
Adrian was already quite fed up so he immediately spoke, "Just because you said so? Why do I feel like you want to use Miss Catherine as a shield."
Lukas was really getting annoyed at this fly, if he was alone with him then he would kill him without any remorse. If not for spending time alone with her so that he could emotionally pressure her, he would have gone alone... ’Come to think of it the skill really is defensive type so it might really look like I am using her as a shield’
"Adrian you should keep quiet for some moment—"
"It’s alright..." Lukas smiled at Catherine and looked at Adrian, "Come out with me..." After he stood up and began going out.
Catherine sighed and Adrian suddenly felt a little apprehensive but he didn’t show it. He didn’t know how strong Lukas was but definitely the gap wouldn’t be large... "Fine let’s see how strong you are..."
Lukas heard it as he crossed the entrance but didn’t respond. If he wanted he could just kill this guy and force others to follow his orders like a real king.
No one here is strong enough to stand against him anyway but he decided not to do something like that. Although he wasn’t a good guy, he preferred not to become a bad one too unless it was a necessity.
After he came outside he took out his bow, the leftover people in the camp flinched and backed away looking at him. He didn’t care and looked at Adrian who came out with the others.
"Come here..."
Adrian frowned when he heard that, "Why?"
Lukas immediately dashed and given his speed while wielding the bow, he arrived in front of Adrian in almost the blink of an eye.
Adrian’s eyes widened and he instinctively tried to move back to dodge but his hand was caught by a strong grip... "Wh—"
He was about to scream when Lukas jerked his hand and threw him into the front area where no one was.
Adrian was a thin guy so given Lukas’s strength he was forced to stumble forward and just as he was about to fall he saw Lukas draw the bow and his soul left his body seeing that scene...
Lukas released the arrow and it went past Adrian, missing his head by a few inches and hit the tree behind...
BOOOOOMMMMMMM!
It was one of the strongest attacks he could do, although the level of the bow was still level 2, his increase in strength made him draw the bow even tighter, increasing the strength of the bow...
The result was obvious, the tree was obliterated instantly along with damaging some other trees nearby.
Catherine and the others felt terror looking at that destructive power. They were stunned when Lukas made his move so they weren’t even able to stop him from attacking but now they felt relieved that they didn’t intervene or that arrow would have come for them.
They knew that this attack was far stronger than the skill of a level two evolver they had seen before.
Adrian was trembling in his spot, he was scared shitless right now, even though he hadn’t seen the impact of the arrow behind him, the sound and shockwave were enough to make him understand that it was something which would have reduced him to ash.
He felt something and looked below to find that he had peed in his pants...
Lukas saw that and smirked, "Tch... just a newborn baby who shits in his pants"
Adrian was feeling immense embarrassment along with anger right now, but he bit his lips and controlled himself while not looking up. He knew very well that Lukas had missed the shot on purpose.
Catherine and the others took a deep breath and felt pity for him. He acted all mighty in the camp but he was reduced to such a state.
