God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.-Chapter 1131: A Different Dilemma (2).
The trial of the Third Tier was a strange one...
From what Cain knew, according to the information he had gleamed from the system and Azazel, this Trial was strange, because it represented a turning point.
For each totem used, the amount of people that could participate at a single time, was as few as one, and as numerous as the population of an entire planet.
Meaning, there truly was no limit to the number of people that could make use of a single totem.
However, there were some important details to consider...
The first detail, was that the grounds for the trial was located in what was considered a universe completely separate from this one, governed by a whole new set of rules and principles. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
The laws of magic didn’t work the same way, and some things were just stranger than they should be.
Cain stared at Steve then hummed,
"I see..."
Steve nodded,
"You must have already guessed it by now. This period of down time we have is the best chance at our disposal to take the trial before we truly begin our wonderful crusade."
Cain couldn’t agree with him more.
The third trial was the trial with the most amount of information known about it since the general setting and time limit was always constant.
A single week in local time. That was all it took.
But within that other "universe", it was a month’s worth of time.
Normally, a month was not very long, especially when the lifespans of several common species in the universe was considered.
However, depending on the place one was to experience their trial, that month could very easily turn into a year. Perhaps even more...
Cain sighed, "You are right."
Steve grinned, "In three days, everyone should be ready. If all goes well, we should have almost fifty tier 3 beings spread out within our ranks. Isn’t that exciting? We’ll be the strongest force in the lowlands!"
Cain raised a brow and snorted,
"That sounds rather optimistic."
Steve shrugged, "What can I do if not be positive? Although, judging by all the information we have, the mortality rate within the third trial is about fifty percent."
Cain clicked his tongue, "It’s more like sixty percent though."
He sighed then grimaced.
What truly made the third trial so special, according to what he had read, beyond how alien it was and how constantly the supposed rules and laws changed, was the relative power of the beings local to the realm.
There was some variation depending on the part of the realm, but it was not much.
Cain shook his head then addressed Steve,
"There’s no use thinking about it too much. I’ll focus on making a spatial anchor to tie this place back to Valestorm."
Steve smiled, "I see. In that case, why don’t we call this place Red Gate? We just finished our battle with the Blood Moon Sect. I believe that will be a fitting name."
Cain paused for a moment then smiled,
"I think it’s not too shabby. Red Gate it is then..."
***
The sallow winds blew as Cain finally placed the unblemished sphere covered in runes onto the ground.
He was dressed in pale grey robes, a black cape with the insignia of a golden horned mask imprinted onto it.
This was the insignia of the Golden Asura create by Susan.
’It’s comfortable.’ He thought to himself as he rose up from the ground.
Two days had passed and all the preparations on his end were finally complete.
In a day, they would finally be prepared.
He thought about it for a moment. Then he closed his eyes.
A few minutes later, the space behind him began to twist and bend.
"Damn it. Why do you have to get me?" Ignis complained and clicked her tongue as she walked up to him from behind.
Cain spun around and flashed her a wide grin,
"Well, that’s because right now, my body is no stronger than a toddler’s. I need a reliable guard. You just so happened to fit the description."
Ignis threw him a glare then sighed,
"So? What do you have in mind?"
Cain chuckled, "The divide of a single level is much larger than you think."
Ignis shrugged, "You don’t need to tell me that. I’m still stuck as well."
Her brows knitted together,
"I also haven’t had the best of times hunting."
Cain clapped,
"Then you are in luck. I just so happen to have noticed a secret hunting ground not so far off in the distance. I believe you can bathe in blood to your heart’s content there."
Ignis raised a brow, "Why do you make it sound like I’m sone battle crazed maniac?"
Cain grinned, "That’s because you are."
Ignis snorted and gave him a light jab on the shoulder, to which Cain’s face instantly went pale and he dropped right to the ground.
Ignis’ eyes widened in shock,
"Eh? Is it that bad?"
Cain hissed through his teeth, "Crap. I think its broken."
He pulled a vial of regen potion from his inventory and began using his healing spells and skills.
It took much longer than he would have liked as the snapped bone finally set into place and healed.
Ignis sighed, "Seems like you really do need protection."
Cain’s face was ugly, "Yeah."
The disadvantages of a weak physique were far more glaring than a lack of mana.
He huffed as he rose to his feet and dusted his clothes,
"In any case, we best get going. We only have a day, so let’s make the most of it."
Something dark slid out of his shadow and sank into the shadow of a boulder. It began swimming away through the darkness and beyond.
Of course, that was the Dark Diver.
Cain muttered under his breath as the space before him twisted and snapped.
An enormous beast with a coat of black and crimson fur stepped out of the ruined space and let out a furious roar.
Cain chuckled, "Yeah, yeah, Ruby. You can go as wild as you want in a second."
He turned to Ignis, "Well? What are you waiting for? Get on."
