Chapter 162: Chapter 162: Lan Cangming, the Strongest Mermaid King

"Don’t worry. We’ll be back."

Fei Zhao squeezed Su An’an’s hand tightly.

Night Abyss stared at Violent Dragon Yan Tian in the distance. "Ten minutes. The Violent Dragon’s corpse will be your finest trophy."

Lan Cangming’s ear fins trembled slightly, and the air around them suddenly grew damp.

He glanced at the shark, Nemo, his voice terrifyingly calm. "I’ll make him remember who rules the ocean."

Su An’an hugged them one by one.

"All of you, come back to me in one piece."

Big Cat’s tail quietly wrapped around her wrist, its tip unconsciously rubbing against her. "Don’t worry, they’re tough to kill!"

His tone was light, but his eyes were locked on their opponents.

DONG!

The sound of the copper bell was so loud it made one’s eardrums ache.

Nicola strode over on crystal high heels, her skirt rustling. She laughed with dripping sarcasm:

"Oh, can’t bear to be apart?"

Nemo grinned, his shark teeth glinting coldly. "Mermaid, I’m going to nail your tail to a wall as a decoration."

Lan Cangming didn’t even lift his eyelids. A circle of ice shards suddenly crystallized around him with a tinkling sound.

Yan Tian’s whole body radiated heat, his scales glowing red. "Poison Dragon? Your little bit of poison isn’t even enough for me to gargle with."

Night Abyss sneered as the poison mist suddenly billowed out. "Then let’s see which is stronger—your Scale Armor or my poison."

Lu Chengfeng’s silver hair moved as if in a wind that wasn’t there. With every step, a thin layer of ice formed beneath his feet.

"Fox, you should save that little flame of yours to warm your Female Master’s bed!"

Fei Zhao flicked his fingers, and the Fox Fire instantly turned a cyan-blue. "Perfect for thawing out an ice wolf like you."

"First match: Deep Sea Frenzy Shark versus the mermaid!"

Nicola narrowed her cat-like eyes, looking at Su An’an with contempt.

"I hope you don’t make too much of a scene when you start crying later, my dear Third Princess!"

"Enough talk!" Su An’an retorted sharply. "If you’re going to fight, then get on with it!"

CLANG!

The earth-shattering sound of the bell exploded, shaking the entire arena.

"First match! Deep Sea Frenzy Shark Nemo versus Mermaid Lan Cangming! Begin!"

A deep blue Barrier suddenly rose, separating the battlefield from the stands like an invisible deep-sea ward.

Deep Sea Frenzy Shark Nemo leaped into the arena. As he spread his arms, strange, dark scale patterns appeared on his skin, shimmering with a metallic luster under the lights.

He opened his cavernous maw, revealing three rows of serrated, sharp teeth, his voice as grating as sandpaper:

"Lan Cangming, I hear a mermaid’s song can drown sailors?"

He deliberately licked his longest fang. "I wonder, can it drown a shark?"

Lan Cangming slowly entered the arena, his silver-blue fishtail swirling with a cold light underwater, his ear fins fully extended in the air.

He didn’t even deign to give his opponent a glance, simply saying flatly, "Noisy."

"The match begins!"

Nemo exploded into motion in an instant, his arms transforming into sharp fin-blades that sliced down with a piercing shriek as they cut through the air.

Lan Cangming sidestepped to dodge, swiping his webbed claws across his opponent’s ribs. But strangely, no blood seeped from the wound; instead, it glinted with a cold, metallic light.

「In the stands.」

Su An’an’s pupils contracted. "His skin?"

Big Cat’s tiger tail tensed like a steel whip.

"It’s the Steel Armor Potion. A military-grade drug recently developed by the Alliance. It’s not being used on the battlefield against Mutant Beasts, but against their own people."

His voice was low and dangerous.

"The Alliance is as clueless as ever."

「Inside the Beast Fighting Arena’s pool.」

Nemo laughed wildly, whipping his tail fin, and the resulting spray of water froze into Ice Cones in mid-air. "Are you trying to tickle me?"

Before the words had even left his mouth, he lunged forward like lightning, his sharp claws aiming straight for Lan Cangming’s fishtail.

With a sickening tearing sound, deep blue scales scattered in the air.

Lan Cangming’s ear fins trembled violently. Three hideous wounds on his fishtail gushed blood, instantly dyeing the surrounding water deep blue.

His movements clearly slowed, and his tail fin movements became labored.

The stands erupted in earth-shattering gasps.

Su An’an shot to her feet, knocking her chair over. "Cangming!"

Inside the deep blue Barrier, a mist of blood spread.

A dangerous smile touched Lan Cangming’s blood-stained lips.

He suddenly pressed his palm to the ground, and blue drops of blood from his fingertips fell onto the seemingly dry, ancient beast patterns.

"Did you think...?" His voice was as soft as a deep-sea undercurrent, yet it made every scale on Nemo’s body stand on end. "...these patterns were just for decoration?"

The entire floor of the Beast Fighting Arena suddenly began to glow with a strange blue light.

It turned out he had already used his Water Control Ability to saturate the ancient, dried bloodstains in the grooves. Monstrous waves erupted from the countless beast-patterned channels.

Even more terrifying, a deep blue neurotoxin, originating from Lan Cangming’s wounds, now shimmered in the seawater.

"No, impossible!"

Nemo discovered in horror that his prized steel-like scales were dissolving at a visible rate.

He thrashed wildly at the water’s surface, only to see Lan Cangming elegantly extend his ear fins and gently tap the center of his forehead with a blood-stained fingertip.

"Let me give you a taste of a true Siren’s song."

The mermaid’s red lips parted slightly, and a string of ethereal notes flowed out.

The song was so beautiful it was heartbreaking, yet it made Nemo’s pupils dilate instantly.

His body convulsed uncontrollably. A deep-seated muscle memory was forcibly awakened, and he began to slam his head against the wall frantically!

"Stop! Stop it!"

The referee frantically rang the bell. "Lan Cangming wins!"

But the song continued.

Only when Nemo had bashed his head until it was bloody and broken did Lan Cangming elegantly cease his song. He leaned down and whispered in his dying opponent’s ear:

"What a shark fears most is remembering the terror of being dominated by a Siren when it was just a little fish."

The entire arena was deathly silent.

Su An’an let out a sigh of relief and slowly sat back down.

Big Cat’s tail wrapped soothingly around Su An’an’s arm.

"Lan Cangming is the king of the ocean. Even if that stupid shark swallowed a ton of Steel Armor Potion, he’d still be no match for him."

"But Cangming is still hurt. I have to go see him."

Su An’an hurried to the medical area.

Lan Cangming was stopping the Medical Officer from approaching. "I’m fine."

"How can you say you’re fine when you’re hurt this badly?"

Su An’an carefully cradled his fishtail in her hands.

The three hideous wounds were still oozing blood, the deep blue scales curled back. The sight made her heart tremble. "Does it hurt?"

Lan Cangming’s ear fins trembled slightly, and he tried to pull his tail back. "It’s just a scratch."

"Don’t move!"

Su An’an held his tail down without taking no for an answer and took the Healing Device from the Medical Officer to begin treatment.

「Meanwhile.」

Nemo dragged his battered body back to the prep area, his face, still showing traces of his shark features, etched with exhaustion. "Female Master, I..."

SLAP!

A resounding slap cut him off.

Nicola’s turquoise cat eyes burned with fury, her delicate face twisted into a terrifying grimace. "Useless! You can’t even handle a single mermaid!"

"But Lan Cangming, he..."

"Shut up!" Nicola’s sharp cat-like claws dug into Nemo’s shoulder, and blood dripped down his arm.

"A loss is a loss! Don’t make excuses!"

She yanked her hand back in disgust, and as she turned, her skirt whipped harshly against Nemo’s leg.

"Get lost and go to a healing pod! Don’t embarrass me out here!"

Nemo staggered alone toward a healing pod, leaving a trail of dark red blood drops behind him.

"Don’t be angry, Female Master. Watch me win back your honor."

Violent Dragon Yan Tian lifted his chin arrogantly. His Scale Armor glowed a molten red, and every step he took left a scorched footprint on the ground.

Nicola’s turquoise cat eyes glinted with a vicious light as her red lips parted. "Break that Poison Dragon’s horns for me."

Yan Tian gave a savage grin. "Don’t worry. I’ll dig out his poison glands and take them as a trophy, too."
