Chapter 1025: Lancelot’s Generals

The Overlord Clan’s branch shelter in the eastern region didn’t seem like it was about to get attacked.

However, everyone was ready since they knew that they had many enemies out there.

As a matter of fact, they also kept getting stronger as they were spending more and more money, or perhaps Zombie Cores and Spirit Stones, for their defenses.

At this time, they believed that they had one of the strongest barriers. Even the walls hummed faintly with the upgrades they received.

Aside from that, every corridor, every chamber, was filled with traps that would ensure that any intruders would suffer.

At the heart of it all sat Overlord Lancelot, the Clan Leader himself.

He wasn’t just idling in his room. He was coordinating with his people through the Chat system and was also giving instructions to other Shelters under his control. After all, six of his trusted assistants were already busy managing the food supplies, constructions, merchant caravan connections, weapons production, zombie cores circulation, sanitation, patrol rotation, clothes production, and many others...

He didn’t have to give approval to most of them, but things related to the Spirit Vein, weapons, and Clan Missions, and various reports of their Spies from multiple Clans must go through him...

"Why are those people not sending back information after 2 or 3 weeks, even if they’re still alive? Are they being discovered? They had gone through so much though... Some of them were even my relatives." Lancelot frowned.

For some reason, the people he was sending to Shane’s shelters would only give reports for two or three weeks before stopping them completely.

Indeed, he had sent multiple Spies to Shane’s shelters on several occasions.

It started with Bran’s group with their Operation Emberfall!

They had successfully infiltrated the New Genesis Shelter, where Mech Frames, Warden Units, and other high-tech weapons are being produced.

Bran worked as a Blacksmith during that time, Vivian worked in the Bakery Shop, Grace helped with farming, while Eli and Ross entered the Construction Crew.

All five of them may not have access to vital information within the shelter, but they would provide decent information about the movement within the area, the soldiers, the food production, supply routes, and many other things.

Unfortunately, after giving daily updates for two or three weeks, they would just stop without saying anything or giving any reasons at all.

"Tsk... This should be enough to deal with the Floating Fortress at the very least." Lancelot muttered after confirming that they already had more than 500 Mystic Rockets they could use against flying enemies.

Well, he knew retaliation was coming, and he intended to meet it head-on.

His generals and elites were also aware of this and had been preparing ever since.

Lesley stood near the outer courtyard, her gaze cold as stone. She had almost been killed during that previous mission when she had to destroy Shane’s Spirit Vein.

Thankfully, she was rescued in time...

She even got stronger since she received a Talent Upgrade Crystal.

Her Petrification Talent, which was already infamous, became a lot stronger. Just one glance or maybe one touch, and even the fiercest warrior could be turned into brittle rock. She had already lined the walls with statues, reminders of those foolish enough to test the Clan’s defenses.

"I will not repeat the same mistake... Make sure to come here as well, Shane." Lesley muttered as she recalled how she was defeated.

Then, in the alchemical chambers, Delilah worked tirelessly. There was no time for her to rest now that the battle was getting closer.

At this time, vials bubbled, powders hissed, and the room was filled with strange scents. Her Master Alchemist Talent had birthed the most potent Zombie Lures known to survivors.

She had numerous them prepared, each tuned to a different type of zombie.

With these Zombie Lures, she could summon hordes of Crawlers, Runners, Tyrants, and many others to crash against enemy lines. Tonight, she continued to brew a lure designed for Flying Zombies.

Well, she already had a dozen of them, but she needed more...

She wanted to place as many Zombie Lures as she could on the Floating Fortress and attract the strongest Flying Zombie Lords! After all, even with the mystic rockets and other weapons they have, they knew that it may not be enough against the Rank 1 Clan!

"Hmph... I’m sure I can attract two or even three flying Zombie Lords with these." Delilah muttered as she felt excited about her creation.

Then, deep beneath the shelter, near the glowing veins of Spirit Energy, Percival stood guard.

His Grand Knight Talent made him the most reliable warrior under Lancelot’s command.

Of course, he was more than a protector, he was like a living fortress himself.

With a single blessing, he could elevate three chosen warriors into Aura Knights. When that happened, their strength would be amplified, their spirits bound to his own, and they would learn Aura...

Those three knights never left his side. Together, they would get stronger with Synegy Skill, and they could form a wall no intruder had ever breached.

On the inner walls, Gatheris was also waiting for Shane’s army to arrive...

His Barrier Master Talent was also a Legendary Grade Talent.

With a wave of his hand, he conjured spherical barriers that glowed like glass, bending the environment inside them to his will.

This was the reason why Asad’s wraiths couldn’t enter the inner wall of the Shelter...

After all, he was basically the strongest being inside his own Barrier.

He could slow time within, thicken the air, or even alter gravity. Soldiers trained inside his barriers, learning to fight under impossible conditions.

But the Overlord Clan’s strength did not end there.

In the training grounds, Selvaris, bearer of the Electricbrand Talent, swung his blade with a steady rhythm.

Each strike sent arcs of high‑voltage electricity crackling across the steel, scorching the stone floor and filling the air with the sharp burning scent...

"They’re late, huh..." Selvaris muttered as he looked at the dark shadow that could not be hidden by the clouds in the sky...
