Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle-Chapter 1026: Lancelot’s Monuments
It was still far... The size of the floating fortress even seemed just like the size of an infant’s fist. However, it was coming.
There was no stealth being used for whatever reason, which surprised him a bit... It seemed that Shane was confident enough and didn’t battle to hide their advance.
But as he looked around, he realized that no one had noticed the floating fortress just yet...
While he was swinging his sword, the soldiers nearby would flinch as they seemed to be more afraid of the high-voltage electricity coming out of his sword.
"Hey..." Selvaris muttered as he turned to the guards and pointed at the floating fortress above...
Just like that, the Overlord Clan sounded their alarm.
***
A few moments ago, in the shadows of the eastern hall of the Overlord Clan’s Shelter, Mireya, the one with the Phantom Shadow Talent, commanded illusions that could twist reality. She trained assassins to vanish into mist, to strike unseen, and to leave enemies doubting their own senses.
She was currently overseeing the training of her 50 Assassins that would be fighting against the members of the Eclipse Revenant Clans that might be lurking outside the shelter.
After all, they believed that aside from sending out their Floating Fortress, they would’ve also sent their army, and it was their task to stop their advancement during the siege.
They had to be careful and needed to be ready for many unexpected situations because their opponent wasn’t just anybody...
Finally, in the war council chamber, Maximillian sat comfortably in his chair...
His Golem Lord Talent allowed him to create Golem Cores from fallen warriors, binding fragments of their strength into his golems. His army of golems from Steel, Stone, Mud, and even Silver should be more than enough to deal with many Super Soldiers and Warden Units under Shane’s command.
Together, these figures formed the backbone of the Overlord Clan’s eastern branch.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Suddenly, Max heard the sound of an alarm coming from the outside...
"So they’re finally here..."
They all knew Shane would come. He knew the Floating Fortress would descend, bringing Mech Frames, Androids, Super Soldiers, Elves, and other Legendary Survivors.
But none of them are scared... They were in their base, while Shane was out of his impenetrable shelters...
Although they have a floating fortress, they have Barrier Master, Rockets, and many other defensive tools.
Now, they would show him why they were the 2nd Rank Clan in the world!

Clank!
The heavy doors of the war council chamber swung open, and Lancelot stepped inside.
His presence was enough to silence the room.
Maximillian looked up from his seat and nodded.
He did not rise, he didn’t need to in front of his friend. He didn’t even have to go out and fight...
His Golem Lord Talent meant his strength was already spread across the shelter, his creations stationed everywhere, ready to fight.
All his golems stood guard at every choke point, their eyes glowing faintly with bound fragments of fallen warriors.
Lancelot gave him a single nod, a gesture of respect between equals.
Behind the Clan Leader trailed his assistants, messengers, and coordinators who kept the lines of communication alive between commanders, patrol leaders, and the outer defenses. They carried various crystals and even scrolls, relaying orders across the shelter faster than the Clan Chat system.
"Maximillian," Lancelot said.
"Just like our plan. You will hold the inner lines. Your golems are everywhere already. Make sure to coordinate with the helpers if the golems got damaged..."
Maximillian smirked faintly. "Those Super Soldiers and Warden Units with break themselves against stone and steel before they ever reach me."
Lancelot turned to his assistants. "It’s time. Remove the covers from the monuments. Let the fortress breathe."
At once, soldiers moved outside, carrying the order to the outer and inner walls.
Soon, the heavy cloths and protective seals were stripped away, revealing the Clan’s magnum opus... They were towering statues carved with painstaking detail, glowing faintly with Spirit Stones and various enchantments etched into their surfaces.
There were two types of statues created, the Great Knight Monument and the Overlord Monument and they were all placed in key locations in order to cover the whole Shelter!
[ Great Knight Monument: A statue of a Knight Lancelot clad in spirit stone armor with shield raised high. Its surface is carved from Spirit Stone, Spirit Alloy, and reinforced Code Steel.
Effect: Inspires defenders within a 30-meter radius, boosting morale and granting a 15% increase to defensive power.
Passive Aura: Gradually restores stamina and minor wounds of nearby soldiers.
Activation: Emits a protective barrier that can absorb up to 1,000 damage before shattering.
Usage Limit: 10 activations per day. ]
There were a total of 10 Great Knight Monuments across the shelter. With their presence, the barriers within the shelter would improve several times.
Now, even if they got attacked by Shane’s plasma cannons, they believed that they had enough energy to block them, and Shane’s fortress would be the first to run out of energy.
Of course, the other statue was even better. As a matter of fact, there were 15 of these all over the shelter.
If it wasn’t difficult to make, he would have more than 50 of them at the same time!
[ Overlord Monument: A statue depicting a warrior with a raised blade. Its body is carved from Spirit Stones and infused with Zombie Cores and Upgrade Crystals.
Effect: Instills fear in enemies within a 50-meter radius, reducing their attack accuracy and Spirit Point recovery.
Passive Aura: Increases the offensive strength of allied soldiers by 20% and heightens their resistance to mental interference.
Activation: Unleashes a shockwave of Spirit Energy, disrupting enemy formations and stunning lesser foes for 5 seconds.
Usage Limit: 5 activations per day. ]
Lancelot really liked the Shockwave Ability of these monuments!
After all, he believed it wouldn’t just affect the Super Soldiers, but also the Warden Units and Mech Frames!
As the covers of the monuments fell away, they all began to hum with power.
Soldiers on the walls straightened their backs as they felt the Passive Aura coming off from these monuments!
Lancelot stood at the center of the chamber as he looked at the Floating Fortress closing in...
"Let them come," he said quietly. "Tonight, they will learn why the Overlord Clan is not afraid of the Rank 1 Clan."
