“This is awesome!” Katrina commented as she knew how great this skill was.
Shane nodded, satisfied. “Good. From now on, if you have questions about the Clan, send a message to Raze, my Vice Clan Leader. She’ll guide you through missions, assignments, and anything else you need.”
Katrina bowed her head slightly. “Understood. Thank you, Shane. I won’t waste this chance.”
Shane’s gaze lingered on her for a moment, then he turned toward the cavern’s exit. His mind was already shifting to the next battle.
Tomorrow, he would leave the Waterfall Shelter. He needed to be with his team before the siege against the Overlord Clan’s branch.
In the meantime, Katrina couldn’t help but tear up a little bit… She still couldn’t believe that she was able to join the Rank 1 Clan just like that.
It was something that she had never thought she could do after their previous shelter was destroyed by the Zombie Lords.
It seemed that choosing this shelter as their new base was truly a good decision.
Then, Katrina turned to the tokens she received. She had heard about them already but it was her first time obtaining them.
She quickly took them and inspected them one by one…
[ Iron Protection Token ]
[ A token made of ironwood shaped like a small shield, engraved with a leaf symbol.
Infused Skills: Nano Restoration, Aura Sentinel
Effect:
Gradually restores minor injuries over time. It can accelerate wound closure and boost immune resistance.
When the bearer is in danger, a reactive shield triggers, absorbing up to 300 damage and could emit a faint pulse to push back nearby hostiles.
Slightly heightens danger awareness within a 10-meter radius.
Activation Cost: 8 Spirit Points for 10 minutes
Usage Limit: 40
Remarks: created by Shadow Strider ]
“A token with Survivor Skills saved inside?” She muttered after realizing what it was.
“I can only use it forty times, huh… I wonder if I can get more of them. I guess I should be asking Raze about this.”
[ Escape Artist Token ]
…
Effect:
Instantly dashes the bearer forward, granting temporary invulnerability to stuns and slows for 3 seconds.
Allows a recall blink to the dash’s starting location within 6 seconds of use.
Reduces fall damage and collision stun if the bearer impacts solid objects.
Activation Cost: 10 Spirit Points
Usage Limit: 35
Remarks: created by Shadow Strider ]
“It’s indeed an escape artist token… I can retrieve those herbs with this item… There’s no need to sacrifice my pets.” Katrina muttered as she saw this item.
As for the remaining tokens, the True Acacia Mystical Protection Token and Acacia’s Slayer Token, they could be used in situations that require defensive and offensive moves.
“He’s generous…” Katrina muttered as she realized that these things would definitely cost a few thousand Zombie Cores if sold in the Marketplace.

In the meantime, while Shane was busy inside the Waterfall Shelter, Asad had already arrived near the Overlord Clan’s branch.
Buried deep beneath the frozen soil, his Bone Scorpion remained hidden with its skeletal carapace blended seamlessly with the earth.
From within its bones shell, Asad sat cross-legged with eyes closed. Currently, his consciousness was tethered to the wraiths he had released into the night.
The wraiths drifted silently across the terrain, slipping through cracks, shadows, and gaps in the defenses of the Overlord Clan.
For two days, Asad had been mapping the area, carefully piecing together the Overlord Clan’s stronghold.
What he learned was enough to make even him wary.
The shelter was divided into two layers…
The outer wall and the inner wall.
His wraiths had managed to pass through the outer defenses, revealing much about the clan’s structure and routines.
But the inner wall was different. Unfortunately, the moment his wraiths approached, they were repelled by some barriers of energy. They seemed to be using wards or talisman far stronger than anything he had encountered before.
The Overlord Clan had invested heavily in protection, and it showed. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Still, the outer wall alone revealed plenty.
For their Defensive Structures, he mapped their towers that lined the perimeter, each equipped with rotating crystal cannons that fired condensed beams of Spirit Energy. These weapons could pierce even armored beasts.
Then, there were ‑anti-siege weapons. There were massive ballistae made of steel and wood mounted along the walls. Some were enchanted to fire bolts that exploded on impact and scatter corrosive mist.
Unsurprisingly, they also had machines. They weren’t Warden Units but they were strange constructs patrolled the grounds.
Asad believed that they were actually Steel Golems. These guardians are powered by Spirit Stones after all.
Aside from that, there were also numerous traps. The pathways leading to the gates were layered with hidden traps. Asad watched one patrol trigger a glyph by accident, and the ground erupted in spikes of hardened stone. The soldier survived, but the trap’s lethality was undeniable.
Finally, Asad also learned their troop movements. Over the past two days, Asad noted the rotations of guards, the timing of patrols, and the shifts in their schedules. The Overlord Clan was disciplined and their soldiers were drilled to perfection… That was also the reason why they were easier to read.
But beyond the inner wall, his vision could not find any…
The barriers were like a sturdy curtain, blocking his wraiths completely. He could sense something powerful within, but he could not pierce it.
Asad frowned inside the Bone Scorpion.
‘The outer defenses are formidable, but the true secrets lie within the inner wall. Whatever they’re hiding, it’s worth the protection of wards strong enough to repel even my wraiths.’
“Perhaps, they’re also aware of my wraiths, and they’re just feeding me false information.” Asad mused as he couldn’t help but feel that Lancelot should’ve sensed his Wraiths at the very least.
Still, he withdrew his wraiths, letting them fade back into the mist, and soon, he opened his Clan Chat.
[ Asad: Shane, the Floating Fortress will arrive in 13 hours. You should hurry. ]
