Game Transmigration: Saving the World Again 1000 Years Later-Chapter 234 - Carnage And Being Surrounded
234 Carnage And Being Surrounded
After a few rounds of intense fighting, Demon General Carnage’s body was covered in wounds. Its breathing became heavy as it was pushed back by the three Calamities. The Calamity wielding a brass ax and wearing Tyrant armor used the armor’s augmentation to restrain Carnage with superhuman strength.
The Calamity with wings flew in the sky, looking for an opportunity to strike with his purification sword—one that dealt Carnage irreparable damage.
The robed Calamity used Storm spells to interfere with Carnage’s sight and used a Mist Wall to block any reinforcements.
The three Calamities moved with such precision, it was as if they were a single person. Every time Carnage’s battle ax was about to strike a vital point, another Calamity would block the strike. And every time one Calamity retreated and dodged, it was only to set up an attack by another. It was truly terrifying.
The fight that Carnage had been winning took a turn for the worse. Though it wouldn’t lose easily, if the situation persisted, it was doomed to fail.
After taking a hard hit from the opposing team’s coordinated attack, Carnage swung its axe, creating a golden whirlwind that pushed the two Calamities back. It seized the opportunity to put some distance between them.
The Calamities didn’t immediately chase after Carnage. The previous attack had already inflicted plenty of wounds, and all they had to do was keep up the same pace to secure their victory.
But it was then that Carnage suddenly spoke, “Do you really think you have the upper hand now?”
As it spoke, it tore off pieces of its brass armor, throwing them to the ground with a loud clang.
Its crimson muscles were exposed, covered in grotesque wounds. The blood flowed freely, seeming to come alive as it spread across its body, forming a bloody totem.
“I understand. You are strong, perhaps not as strong as the Calamity’s main body, but it’s still a challenge for me to face three of you at once. However, you made a grave mistake.”
Carnage continued to remove its armor, until it was barely covered by a blood-stained cloth.
Its exaggerated muscles were marred by deep wounds, and the blood-colored totems writhing on its body seemed to have a life of their own. A sanguine aura spread across the battlefield, turning into a tentacle-like mist that surrounded Carnage through the Mist Wall.
As the three clones stopped in their tracks, William, who was controlling them, noticed a distinct change in the aura emanating from the other party. It was as if the difference between a golden retriever and a lion.
“Tell me, does it feel good to kill without mercy on this battlefield? Is it a thrill to cull the weak like wheat?”
A blood-colored mist enveloped the battlefield and surrounded Carnage, muffling its voice as it spoke.
William’s heart skipped a beat at Carnage’s words.
He realized he had overlooked something crucial.
On the main battlefield, weapons and tools with special skills were being used freely. It looked like an ancient epic battle from afar. The dazzling, colorful light, just short of having the number ‘9,999’ being blasted out in midair, gave the appearance of chaos.
William had emptied out almost half of the Treasure Hall and was going all out, aided by the almost infinite mana supply from the Holy Spirit Disc. The entire frontal battlefield was a one-sided carnage.
Yes, a carnage.
This was also the source of Demon General Carnage’s strength.
On this battlefield, every time William easily killed a low-level Lunar Monster, he strengthened the concept of carnage, augmenting Demon General Carnage with a small portion of power. Any Lunar Monster, whether friend or foe, connected to the concept of carnage received a blessing. In the past, before launching an attack, the Moon Realm Demon Army led by Carnage would conduct a large-scale blood sacrifice. If they had captives, they were sacrificed. If they didn’t, they selected the weak from within the Demon Army to be sacrificed (in the civil war, it didn’t matter if they were friends or foes. The weak were naturally the ones who died) to boost their strength.
As a result of William commanding his Holy Spirit Army on the battlefield, his strength reached an unprecedented level.
“Not killing me immediately was your biggest mistake.”
As Carnage let out a deafening roar, the mist of blood surrounding it began to swirl and attach itself to various parts of its body. In an instant, it transformed into a dark-red armor that writhed and flamed like flames. Demon wings made of blood also spread out behind it.
“Continue your killing spree, Calamity. Hahahahahaha…”
Carnage cackled maniacally as blood crawled up its tightly clenched hand and onto the brass battle ax it held. From a distance, it appeared as if the weapon was filled with dense, pulsing blood vessels.
(Consider chanting the peak Metal spell, “Awaken Remains of the Death Star,” and take out Demon General Carnage before it grows even stronger.)
(Rejected. If we chant “Awaken Remains of the Death Star,” there’s a high risk that the Holy Spirit Disc will shatter under the strain.)
(Send in emergency reinforcements: #7, #13, and #22, who are guarding the main body, through the Mist Wall.)
As his thoughts raced, William quickly reevaluated the distribution of resources in his mind. Suddenly, the three clones guarding him vanished in flashes of lightning. One of the clones, wearing an antler helm, grabbed Judgment 2 from William before disappearing.
The various spots on the battlefield were at capacity. In order to stabilize the battle lines and prevent being outflanked, William couldn’t mobilize his clones from elsewhere to provide assistance. If Carnage continued to grow stronger, unless he retreated all of his clones and relied on his main body to defeat it, he wouldn’t be able to take it down in a few minutes with just those clones who couldn’t cast spells.
William had no choice but to send three of the four clones around him to provide support.
“At the very least, Carnage won’t be able to handle the damage output of six clones…”
As something unexpected happened, William muttered anxiously to himself.
“Similarly, for you who has almost zero combat strength, you can’t withstand our surprise attack, right?” a charming voice echoed behind William. Suddenly, the last clone guard appeared, holding a thick shield that protected William from behind.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The sound of metal filled the air as the six serrated spears, coated in dark green venom, were blocked by the shield.
William didn’t turn to see who was speaking. Instead, he raised his hand and solidified an ice crystal shield, emitting cold air as it blocked a ball of yellowish green pus.
As Mrs. Swelling finally opened the fan covering the lower half of her face, a ball of yellow-green pus shot out from its ugly, toad-like mouth.
“Tsk… do the Demon Generals under Beatrice always have the habit of reminding the other party before launching a sneak attack?” Mrs. Swelling complained, covering its face with the fan again.
It then turned to William and said, “Dear Lord Calamity, your little trick has been exposed.”
Rotten fragments began to dissipate around it as Demon General Erosion, who had fought William in Thorn City, took shape.
“To be able to send your strength remotely through a figurine… you shouldn’t have exposed your trump card in Thorn City, Lord Calamity,” Erosion said as it materialized.
