Flip the Coin [BL]-Chapter 184. Laboratory 2
Henry’s POV
I woke up, sitting on a chair, seemingly bound to it.
Moving my wrists and ankles, I noticed that I could break free with ease if I wanted to. Very good.
"Mr. Devin." The light shining in my eyes was moved away. The doctor from last time was here. "You and your friend... you really are quite something."
Kenny. So he was here? Good, we’ll get out together; we’ll finally leave for our world.
"He can see the future?" Dr. Carell asked, and I furrowed my brows.
"Who would be able to do something like this?" How did he know? Had they done something to him?
No. He is strong, so much stronger than them. I pressed down the paralyzing fear that something had happened to my master.
"For example, The Murderer ’Kennith Howard’, who we have taken into custody after he broke out of prison." The doctor smiled.
So his counterparts had the same ability.
I didn’t answer him. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"It’s okay. I still have you to experiment on these abilities." The doctor mumbled and went to the side, where a computer stood.
"What are you talking about? Where is he?" My heart sped up, and I rattled against my bindings.
Yet before I could break free, I was shocked, starting from my temples. The electricity coursed through my whole body and held me in place with a light tremor, while my jaw pressed together tightly.
"Let’s see." Dr. Carell pressed a few keys on his computer before he came to my side again. He pulled out an injection and rammed it into the wrist of my right hand.
When I wanted to move again, another shock paralyzed me into stillness. My hand soon went numb as well.
The crazy lunatic pulled a spray out of his white robe and wetted my hand before putting on gloves and coming to my side with a scalpel. I tried to wrap my hand with the shadow, only to get shocked again.
I stopped moving, getting the gist of the consequences already. Instead, I watched as he made a deep cut on the back of my right hand. Blood poured out after a few seconds, but not only that, a very small amount of dark smoke emerged.
"Fascinating." Dr. Carell commented.
I found so as well. And I would love to let him experience the ins and outs of my whole ability. He won’t kill me now, and he probably won’t do so in the near future.
"Where is Kenny?" I growled. As long as he was alive and I was as well, we would get out of here together.
The doctor chuckled, making another cut on my hand before parting my skin to expose the tissue beneath.
The next time his scalpel came into contact with my skin, I moved as strongly as I could and was shocked again just as heavily. Sadly, the doctor remained unharmed, though his scalpel and hands were in contact with me when the electricity shot through me.
"A special material, not conducting electricity." He moved the scalpel and his gloved hands before my eyes before he finally answered my question.
"The last time I saw him, he was with your sister; they made quite a riot." I calmed down considerably and watched the doctor continue to dissect my hand.
If he was with Henrietta, they had either left with the others already, or he was lying in wait with Henrietta by his side.
Kenny would never leave me here; he would come for me. Firstly, he wouldn’t leave behind anyone, as we had seen in his behavior regarding Chelsea. Secondly, he would never leave his dog behind.
Never.
"Don’t you want to ask how I know that she is your sister?" The doctor asked while cutting into the tissue of my hand, again parting it so he could expose what lay under it. I could see my veins and bones after he sprayed the big wound and cleared the blood away.
Every time he went deeper, a bit more of the shadowy smoke came out of me.
"If it’s a boring reason such as that we look alike, I don’t want to hear it."
The doctor laughed and continued, cutting between my bones and parting the muscles. He skinned nearly the whole area of the back of my hand to look at everything inside.
I wasn’t really angry. I was also curious about the shadow, and knowing that I was providing Kenny with time to do what he wanted to do and that I just had to wait like an obedient dog, I would naturally not feel the need to act now. Even if a psychopathic scientist was having his fun for now.
My wounds would heal unbelievably fast anyway, and even if Henrietta had sucked my blood repeatedly and seemingly gained strength from it, I never felt a bit of weakness, which was a sign that merging with the shadow had provided me with quite a lot of power.
When the doctor was satisfied, he took a few pictures of my hand and typed some notes into his computer.
Then, he came back and sewed my hand together, even bandaging it professionally.
"Thank you for your cooperation, Commander." He said with a smile, knowing full well that I wasn’t even close to being one.
He made a hand motion, and two guards came in. While one of them held me at gunpoint, the other freed me from the chair. The doctor stepped out for a moment, coming back with a collar that he put around my neck.
"Like it was on the chair, this thing reacts to your brainwaves. If it detects you wanting to do something bad, it will shock you. So please continue to behave cooperatively."
I smiled back at him.
"I naturally will." Until my master comes for me. Then I will kill that motherfucker personally.
The guards brought me one story down while I memorized the layout and then placed me inside a cell. It reminded me a bit of the solitary cell back at ’home’.
I lay on the bed and imagined what Kenny was doing right now. It surely won’t take long until he comes. I just hope Henrietta doesn’t cause problems for him. And if she dares to drink his blood... I can still put her through a lot of pain if only a bit of my blood would help her heal again.
Kenny and I will meet soon; I am sure of it.
I just have to wait, and he will come.
This bad feeling that slowly spread inside my stomach surely just came from seeing that disgusting doctor and going through the revolting experience of him touching and cutting me open.
Kenny is close by; I’ll just have to wait for him.
