Fated: The Alpha's Unwanted Luna-Chapter 120: The invitation_Part 1
The next day, Matt didn’t delay sending the special invitation to the North Pack and Moonwillow, inviting them to the wedding and crowning ceremony without mentioning the name of the bride, but only the pack she came from. Since it was sent through a flying drone controlled by the computers in Silver, it didn’t take long to reach Moonwillow, landing on the pack house window with a delivery tone playing to notify them of the arrival of the invitation.
It was Leni, sitting comfortably in her parlor and getting her nails done by the omegas, who first noticed the drone drop the box and the tone, and she was startled and astonished, since they had been blacklisted by the Silver Pack. Furthermore, they were left behind in technology, and she had never seen a drone before nor did she have any idea what it was.
Leni called out to Evan, who was currently in a meeting with the warriors of his pack, and her panicked voice made him run to her at full speed, along with his warriors, as they believed something had happened to her.
When Evan got to her, he found his mate staring at the window along with the three omegas in the room. "What’s wrong?" he asked, moving forward to hold Leni, who pointed to the glistening silver box.
"That thing... it was dropped here by a flying thing," she said, clinging to Evan for protection.
Actually, lately she and Evan had been having some issues, as their pack was falling behind and lacking in resources so much that by the time she got to see her mate, he was crazily drunk and wasted at night where they should be sharing their passion in bed. They had been receiving countless complaints from pack members about their lack of supplies, with some escaping and breaking their bond with Moonwillow to join other more advanced, well-resourced packs.
She hadn’t gotten to hold Evan or have him hold her in a very long time, and now, as she was genuinely terrified of what the box contained, she clung to his side. He wrapped his arm around her waist and gave one of the warriors the go-ahead to look at what was in the silver, glistening box.
The warrior stepped forward and cautiously took the small box. He first shook it before untying the red ribbon around it like a gift, and then removed the cover.
"What’s in there?" Evan demanded, suffering from a very bad hangover from overdrinking last night and not wanting to deal with any useless mysterious packaging. He was a good drinker and could usually hold up fine, but he had drunk more than his body could take last night and had woken up really annoyed. But having Leni at his side, breathing in her scent as she relied on him for protection, he felt a little better and curious about the box.
The warrior walked back to the Alpha and showed him what was inside, causing Evan’s eyes to brighten at the neatly folded card inside the box that had "Silver Pack" written in fancy letters that shimmered with the words special invitation.
Evan didn’t waste time, as he had been expecting this for months but had thought he would never receive it. He reached out and took the card, reading it, and the more he read, the happier he became.
"Mother of nature, we are specially invited to the Silver Pack for the new Luna crowning!" Evan exclaimed, looking up at Leni. "It seems Ember has finally been accepted as the Luna."
Since it didn’t give out the name but only the pack the chosen Luna was from, the North Pack, Evan naturally assumed it to be Ember. After all, she was the only one who had promised to fix the feud between his pack and the Silver Pack. And getting a special invitation couldn’t have been anyone else.
"Oh my," Leni squealed, hugging Evan. Nobody knew it, but it had been a lifelong dream to step into the Silver Pack and see the most advanced and beautiful world everyone talked about. Being the largest and most advanced pack, not everyone was given access to step inside, and not many knew what it looked like except from pictures.
"Didn’t I tell you that giving her that bitch was a good idea?" Leni said, referring to Viola, whom Evan had been reluctant to give to Ember for some reason she didn’t know. After he had given her away, he had been constantly worrying that Ember might not punish her enough, and that he would have just killed her here himself rather than hand her over to the North Pack princess.
"Now you see how she didn’t forget about us and sent us a special invitation. I believe in no time our pack will return to its full glory, and we will have all the good resources from the Silver Pack!" Leni could barely remain on her feet as she jumped up and down in happiness.
Evan was also beaming with joy and relief, for this meant all his troubles would finally come to pass. Actually, not being someone who had put his sweat and blood into studying for the Alpha exam and learning about handling a pack, he was lacking in many ways now and regretted giving that woman to Ember.
He hadn’t wanted to admit it to himself, but she always had a way out of any problem and could fix the biggest issue in a blink, like it was nothing. She was the brain behind him becoming Alpha, and though he had thought he could rule himself without her help, he had been proven wrong these past few months as things piled up for him like bees to flowers, overwhelming him.
Evan gritted his teeth in irritation at the fact that he would still have made use of her mind had she still been among his pack members, working under him. As her Alpha, she wouldn’t have dared not to solve his problems, which was why he had been pissed when he thought Ember had abandoned and forgotten her promise after he had given her that selfish, annoyingly, possessive bitch.
But this invitation immensely pleased him because it meant Ember hadn’t forgotten, and here was a chance for him to get things right again in his pack. Moonwillow had once been among the bigger packs, but lately it had been dropping so fast he couldn’t keep track of how his own people were escaping.
He hoped Ember had not killed that bitch. Because along with a signed peace treaty from the Silver Pack, he was certain he would get what he needed now that Ember would be crowned. Evan would need Viola along. The thought made him feel relieved, and he kissed Leni for the first time in a month, as they had been having some issues lately due to his lack of attention.
