Extra's Path: The Eternal Frost Monarch-Chapter 19: First Day Training (2)
After meditating for a while, Noah slowly exhaled.
He then slowly lifted his eyelids.
"Okay... let’s try it again," he muttered quietly.
Mana started to circulate through his body faster. It flowed through his veins just like blood.
Slowly, it gathered around his extended arm. He condensed the mana into a thin rod of lightly compressed ice. It was dense and compact. He slowly shaped it like the shaft of a spear. Not extremely hard. He kept it slightly flexible and mobile.
The temperature around him dropped slightly. Frost formed beneath him where he was sitting.
After that came the spearhead. The place where there should be a blade.
He highly compressed the ice in that area. It became extremely dense. Slowly, he began shaping it into a spearhead, making it sharper with each layer of compression.
Soon, a spear was formed in his hand.
Noah held it firmly in his right hand. The touch was cold against his palm, yet it felt familiar.
Noah tightened his grip around the spear.
’Alright, now let’s train with this.’
He got up from his seat.
His left hand grasped the shaft near the upper side, while his right hand held the lower side.
He slowly exhaled.
Then he moved.
His left foot stepped forward while the spear he held horizontally shot out in a straight thrust.
The tip cut through the air with a soft whistle.
Noah pulled it back smoothly.
Another strike, this time slightly upward. If a person as tall as Noah had been standing there, it would have pierced their throat.
He performed simple and direct actions. There were no unnecessary movements.
Step forward.
Thrust.
He shifted his grip slightly and swept the spear sideways.
Slash.
This time he made a clean slash through the air.
Without pausing, Noah rotated the spear back and drove it forward again.
Thrust.
Then he pulled it back immediately.
Thrust.
His breathing remained calm and steady.
A drop of sweat slid down from his forehead, but his eyes remained focused on his practice.
Step forward.
Thrust.
Step back. Then in guard position.
Noah held the position for a moment before slowly lowering the weapon.
With a thoughtful expression, he murmured, "Not bad... should I try this on a dummy?"
He could feel it, the place where he was holding the shaft firmly had become wet.
The ice was slowly melting. Noah calmly channeled a bit of mana into it. Just like that, the melting stopped as the mana countered the temperature of the room and his body.
Then an indifferent yet strangely captivating voice came from behind him.
"Is that ice spear created by you? Do you have the ability to create it?"
The voice was familiar.
Noah immediately turned around.
Just a short distance away stood Morgana.
Now Noah could see her again from a close distance, and he couldn’t help but feel dazzled by her appearance.
The blazer suit could not hide her sinful curves. The soft-looking pair of peaks pressed against the outfit, giving them a perfectly round shape. Her waist was thin, but below it her hips widened, while her thighs looked thick beneath the skirt.
’Wish I could hold th—’
Noah quickly stopped himself from thinking further.
Straightening slightly, he replied respectfully, "Instructor... yes. It’s related to my ability."
Morgana crossed her arms lightly and examined the spear with interest.
"That’s quite a useful ability," she said thoughtfully. "If I am not guessing wrong, you could create anything with ice... as long as you practice."
Noah respectfully bowed his head slightly.
"Thank you, Instructor Morgana and yes I can create anything with ice."
Morgana raised one eyebrow slightly. She genuinely looked surprised by Noah’s attitude.
Noah noticed her expression.
’She must be shocked seeing a problem child like Noah behave so well. I am a well-behaved student after all.’
Noah smirked inwardly before straightening his posture.
"Hm... not bad, Noah," Morgana said casually. "I hope you will be like this all year. If you have doubts, you can consult with me."
A thought crossed her mind. Maybe he really had changed.
Noah nodded politely. "Yes, Instructor. I will do that. Thanks again, Instructor."
At this point, Noah was acting like a disciplined student.
Morgana seemed satisfied with his attitude.
She turned around and walked in another direction, continuing to watch the other students train.
"Oh... it seems I made a good impression on her after messing up in class."
’Good job, Noah!’ he thought while praising himself.
Noah then walked toward the area where the training dummies were placed.
He was going to practice with them for a while.
It was a big area. There were many dummies.
Noah walked toward the last one, away from Kaelan, Emma, and the others who were training.
He decided to use the same moves on the dummy that he had practiced a few minutes ago. His left foot stepped forward while the spear shot out in a straight thrust.
Thrust.
The tip of the spear whistled through the air before stopping precisely in front of the wooden dummy’s chest.
Noah pulled it back smoothly. Then he thrust again.
Thrust.
Another strike, this time aimed at the throat. His movements were not flashy.
There were no unnecessary spins or dramatic motions.
Every action was simple and direct. The spear moved like an extension of his body.
He shifted his grip slightly and swept the spear sideways.
Slash.
The wooden dummy rattled as the shaft struck its side.
Noah rotated the spear back and drove it forward again.
Thrust.
He attacked the dummy’s right shoulder.
Then pulled back. This time he thrust toward the left shoulder.
Thrust.
His breathing remained calm and steady.
A drop of sweat slid down the side of his face, but his eyes stayed focused on the dummy in front of him.
The spear stopped inches away from the dummy’s chest.
Perfectly controlled. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Noah held the position for a moment before slowly lowering the weapon.
Then he reset his stance and began again.
The voices of the students faded away behind him as Noah became completely focused on training.
His blue eyes were filled with slight excitement.
Each time he swung the spear, it felt easier, stronger, and more familiar.
