Extra's Path: The Eternal Frost Monarch-Chapter 18: First Day Training (1)
After a while, almost every student had chosen their weapon.
Some held them proudly in their hands, testing their weight and balance, while others carefully stored them inside their storage rings.
Morgana, who had been silently observing from a distance, stepped forward. Her heels echoed softly against the metal floor.
Her violet eyes swept across the room, ensuring everyone was finished.
"Since everyone has chosen their weapon," she said in a calm but authoritative tone, "follow me."
Without waiting for a response, Morgana turned and walked toward the exit.
The students quickly followed behind her.
Noah also joined the group, walking quietly near the back of the crowd.
After walking through several corridors, they finally arrived at another enormous area. The moment the doors opened, the students were greeted by an even larger facility.
A massive training hall stretched before them. The hall itself was gigantic, but what surprised them even more was the enormous open training ground attached to it.
’Damn! This is huge!’ Noah was surprised again.
Many different practice areas were visible. Rows of practice weapon racks filled with training weapons were neatly arranged along the walls.
Large wooden dummies stood in several sections, designed for striking and combat drills.
There were dedicated shooting ranges for both archers and snipers.
Another section had moving targets that slid across rails. Some areas were divided into sparring platforms. Where students could spar against each other.
And on one side of the hall were several thick metallic doors with glowing panels beside them.
Students immediately began whispering again.
"Whoa... this place is huge."
"Look at those dummies."
"Is that a shooting range?"
"What are those metal rooms over there?"
Morgana stood before them and began explaining.
"This is the primary training facility for first-year students."
Noah focused on what Morgana was saying.
She gestured toward the different sections. "The areas with the wooden figures are for close combat training. The targets on the far side are for archery and projectile practice. The platforms in the middle are for sparring matches."
Then she pointed toward the metal doors. "Those rooms are gravity chambers."
A ripple of surprise passed through the students.
"Inside those rooms, the gravity can be increased beyond the normal level," Morgana continued calmly. "They are used to strengthen your body and improve endurance."
Her sharp gaze moved across the group. "However, most of you are not yet strong enough to handle high gravity levels."
Then she crossed her arms. "Since today is the first day of the academy, I will not make you do anything heavy."
Some students visibly relaxed after hearing that. "You may freely explore the training facility," Morgana continued. "Use the equipment, practice with your weapon, or test the various sections."
Her tone became slightly colder. "I will be observing all of you."
A faint pressure spread across the room. "If any of you want advice or guidance, you may ask me."
With that, Morgana stepped aside. "You may begin. Now go."
Immediately the students scattered in different directions.
Everyone was excited to test their abilities.
’Let’s go!’ Noah thought, but then he first observer others. What they were doing? Mostly main characters.
Damien Ashworth walked toward one of the open sparring platforms. He unsheathed his sword slowly. The blade gleamed faintly under the lights.
He took a calm stance and began practicing controlled sword movements, his strikes precise and disciplined.
Even without an opponent, his movements were clean and efficient. Several nearby students stopped to watch him.
Then Kaelan, he moved toward a quieter section near the combat dummies. He spun one of his daggers between his fingers before suddenly launching forward. His blades flashed as he struck the dummy multiple times in quick succession.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Each strike landed with deadly accuracy. He moved around the dummy like a shadow.
’Ohh nice!’ Noah admired his footwork. Then turned his attention to others.
Lyria walked toward the open training ground outside the hall. She twirled her golden spear lightly before thrusting it forward in smooth motions.
’My Ly– no! not my! ...Lyria, her movements are better than mine for spear...lot better.’
Her movements were elegant and fluid. The spear cut through the air with sharp precision. Her blonde hair moved with each motion as she practiced.
While Emma headed toward the heavy training equipment. She tightened the gauntlets around her fists. Then she stepped in front of a reinforced dummy.
Boom!
Her punch slammed into the dummy with incredible force. The impact echoed through the area. Several nearby students turned to look at her in surprise.
’She got good physical strength’
Then Arisha, she calmly walked toward the archery range. She picked up a training bow and placed an arrow on the string. Her eyes focused on the distant target.
A moment later.
Thwip!
The arrow shot forward and struck the target directly near the center. She quietly prepared another shot.
’Where’s Leonardo?’ Then his blue eyes fell on the blonde hair man. ’There he is.’
Leonardo headed straight toward a large combat dummy. He rested the massive greatsword on his shoulder before lifting it with both hands. With a powerful shout, he swung it downward.
BANG!
The heavy blade slammed into the dummy. The ground beneath his feet shook slightly.
Noah stood keep standing near the entrance. His crystal blue eyes moved around the training hall as he observed all of them.
He watched the main characters spread out across the facility. ’Everyone already found their place,’ he thought.
He decided to stopped watching others. He then looked around the hall once more. Many students had gathered around the popular areas.
The sparring platforms were crowded. The archery range had several people waiting.
The dummies were surrounded by groups practicing together.
Noah scratched the back of his head. ’I don’t really want unnecessary attention. At least not yet.’
After scanning the hall, he noticed an empty corner near the far wall.
It was quiet. Almost no one was there. A faint smile appeared on his face.
’Perfect.’
Noah walked toward that corner. Once he reached it, he sat on the ground in cross leg position.
"Alright," Noah muttered softly.
He closed his eyes and started to meditate for a while. Calm himself and circulate his mana.
Then he would practice his Ice Creation ability.
