Extra's Path: The Eternal Frost Monarch-Chapter 17: Weapon Selection
"Now that the attendance is done, we should move toward the next important thing," Morgana said in a calm but authoritative tone.
"You all get a chance to choose a weapon for yourselves. I know many of you might already possess one, but some of you might not, mostly those who came from normal backgrounds. So all of you can choose one weapon. Even those who already possess one. Think of it as a formality from the academy."
After saying that, Morgana walked toward the door. She glanced over her shoulder at the class.
"Now follow me, all of you."
Everybody in the class got up from their seats and started to follow Morgana. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Noah also got up from his seat. He remained last, then quietly followed them.
After a while, arriving in front of a large room, Morgana stopped. She stood in front of everyone.
Then she took something out of her own storage ring. It was her Instructor ID. She scanned her own ID at the panel beside the huge door.
The door slid open immediately.
A large room appeared before everyone, and the diversity of weapons present there left Noah and everyone else speechless.
– "Wow! Look how huge this room is!"
– "There are so many weapons!"
– "I’ve never seen something like this before!"
– "Damn, even weapon shops don’t have this many weapons!"
Students started to chatter after seeing the room.
Noah wanted to say something as well, but for now he was a loner.
"Tch!" He clicked his tongue.
’I need to make some friends. Excluding main characters.’
Then he focused on the room.
The room was filled with many different kinds of weapons. There were shelves along the walls and tables in the middle, all made of strong metal. On them were arranged various weapons.
From nunchucks to broadswords, spears to bows. Every sort of weapon was neatly laid out according to its size and displayed before the students.
"There’s a wide selection of weapons here, so feel free to choose what you deem to be the best fit for you. Choose wisely," Morgana said in a strict, cold tone.
Noah was really impressed by the scene.
There were so many weapons that he couldn’t even tell what some of them were. There were many varieties.
Then Morgana’s expression turned slightly serious as she added another warning. "Also, everyone be careful. I’d be very careful if I were you. If you damage any weapon present here, you better be ready to pay up to 500,000 Zeni."
Seeing the excited expressions of the students in the class, Morgana immediately poured cold water on their excitement as she pointed out the price of each weapon.
’Crazy! Up to 500,000 Zeni!’ Noah was scared after hearing that price. Well, he was not the only one who felt like that.
Some students couldn’t help but flinch as they started looking at the weapons like they were some sort of divine artifacts.
"I advise using a weapon that is suitable for you so that you don’t risk damaging it," Morgana continued calmly.
"Also, don’t worry. Once you choose a weapon, it will be yours. So even if you damage it or break it, you won’t have to pay. But you won’t be getting a new one until the second semester. So experimenting is good, but only if you can afford it."
Looking at the 150 or so students before her, Morgana smiled faintly and continued further.
"Before taking a weapon, scan your ID near the small scanners beside each weapon so that you can register your name in the database. After that, take your weapon."
Near each weapon, there was a small scanner.
Having finished what she wanted to say, Morgana turned around and stood a little distance away from the students, letting them observe and choose the right weapon for themselves.
Noah was actually excited to see such things.
His eyes darted here and there.
’I already got a sword. So it’s better to have a spear since I don’t have one.’
Noah walked through the huge room, though hall might have been a better word for it.
He wanted to choose a weapon that could also match his appearance. Yes, he wanted something that could make him look cool.
Noah then looked toward the main cast.
The main protagonist Damien, just like any cliché hero, chose a sword. Despite already having one.
Kaelan, another important character, was holding two daggers and inspecting them carefully.
Lyria had taken a golden-colored spear that matched her appearance perfectly, especially with her blonde hair.
Noah’s eyes narrowed slightly.
’I want something like that... a white-colored spear or maybe blue... damn, why is she so gorgeous?’
Noah’s eyes stayed glued to Lyria longer than necessary. It wasn’t his fault. He was a young man after all.
This was the same when Morgana had entered earlier.
Noah glanced back at her for a moment before turning forward again.
That woman looked even more breathtaking and seductive compared to the main heroines. It was understandable since a person’s appearance became better with each increase in the level of their mana core.
’Well, I’m already too handsome for my level. Even the protagonist can’t match me when it comes to appearance,’ Noah thought with a smirk as he ran his hand through his soft white hair.
He was really getting more narcissistic as time went on.
Then he saw another student.
Leonardo was confidently swinging a greatsword that was nearly the same length as his own height.
While Emma was wearing gauntlets.
Arisha was more of a magic spell user, but she also knew archery.
"She’s also really beautiful," Noah muttered to himself, his eyes briefly drawn toward her chest area.
But only for a moment.
"No! Focus!"
He shook his head. ’What are you thinking, Noah! Go and get yourself a weapon.’
Forgetting to find a weapon for himself, he had started observing the main characters instead.
Noah walked to the other side.
After searching for a while, he finally found a spear to his liking.
He was really getting too picky.
He took the spear from the shelf.
The spear’s shaft was silver in color, while the pointed blade at the top was ocean blue, matching Noah’s eyes.
He placed his ID on the scanner and scanned it. The process only took a few seconds.
"Alright, everything is done."
He swung the spear lightly a few times, then placed it inside his storage ring.
The students were still deciding which weapon to take. After all, there were just too many options there. Choosing one was really hard.
