Chapter 20: First trouble At Academy

Finally, it was break time.

Since it was the first day of the academy, they didn’t teach many things. Just introductions.

Noah had noticed how the main characters were already becoming friends with each other.

He looked to his right. A few tables away from him, Damien, Emma, Leonard, Lyria, and Arisha were sitting together while eating their lunch.

Yes, they were currently in the cafeteria.

With a tired sigh, Noah muttered to himself, "Hah... when will I make friends?"

Munch.

He continued eating a chicken stick.

Though he was not someone who had many friends in his past life, he was still used to having a few friends around him every day in university, which kept him from getting bored.

But here he was alone. And if that was not enough, every time he tried to talk to someone, most of them ran away.

For lunch, there were many food items available.Roasted meat glazed with fragrant herbs. Bowls of butter-seared river fish. Golden honey bread that released warm steam when torn apart.

Students filled their plates with herb rice, grilled forest vegetables, and creamy mushroom stew.

Noah had nearly taken all of it.

There was no holding back when it came to free, tasty food.

The cafeteria itself was really huge, large enough for more than a thousand students to sit and eat at the same time.

’For now, I have to spend my time here like this.’

Noah continued eating, pushing those thoughts aside. For now, enjoying his meal came first.

---

Currently, Noah was walking through the hallway.

It was filled with students chatting loudly.

Here, no one noticed him or murmured about him, which was a very nice thing.

Noah could even see second-year and third-year students.

First-year students had red-colored ties and red-colored piping along the edges of their coats.

Second-years had black ones, while third-years had blue.

’What should I do now?’

He had no idea what to do other than train.

He didn’t have any future knowledge that could help him prepare for incoming dangers or obtain some cheat that was supposed to go to the main character.

’Why did I even get transmigrated? There’s no logic in this. If I don’t have future knowledge, then what change can I even bring to this world? Which idiot even transmigrated me here?’

Noah started cursing the person who had illogically transmigrated him.

Just then, someone approached from the opposite side of the hallway.

Murmurs followed as that person walked.

The reason was simple.

She was gorgeous.

Noah was pulled out of his thoughts after hearing students whisper about a beauty.

’A beautiful lady? Where is she? Who is it?’

Like a curious cat, Noah instantly tried to find her.

Only to suddenly stop walking. He stopped not because he was dazzled by her looks, but because he was surprised to see her again.

Walking toward him was a young woman with long, flowing dark-blue hair.

Her eyes were emerald green, like a lush forest.

Each step she took was filled with pride. She truly moved like a noble lady from a novel, carrying herself with elegance and grace.

Her figure was more on the slender side.

Her curves might have been slightly inferior to Lyria and Arisha, but they suited her perfectly.

She looked like a model.

’Fuck you, Noah! Why did you mess up when you had such an amazing fiancée?!’

He cursed the previous Noah again for doing something so foolish.

Click.

Click.

For some reason, Noah could clearly hear the clicking of her shoes against the floor.

Gulp.

Noah gulped down his saliva.

But then she stopped right in front of him. Just one hand’s distance separated them.

Her cold emerald eyes pierced into Noah’s blue ones.

Neither of them spoke for a while. Slowly, the attention of the surrounding students shifted toward Noah and Ophelia.

With a forced smile, Noah finally gathered the courage to speak.

"Hm... hello?" He tried to sound friendly.

Hearing his greeting, Ophelia frowned. Her eyes filled with clear disdain.

In a cold voice, she said, "You really have no shame."

Noah blinked in confusion. Scratching his cheek slightly, he replied, "Um... well, why is that?"

He was shocked by her first words.

What shame was he supposed to feel? Because of what the old Noah had tried to do to her?

Yes, it was wrong. But it was not him who had done it.

And if that wasn’t enough, the real Noah had already been punished for it, being exiled from his family.

Though it was exile only in name. He was still known across the empire as the exiled, good-for-nothing son of the duke’s family.

Ophelia looked at him with disbelief. "Wow. Look at you... asking why?" she said sarcastically.

She closed her eyes and rubbed her temples as if trying to calm herself.

Then she glared at him again.

"I can’t believe that after what you tried to do to me... you still have the courage to join this academy and show your face."

She sneered while looking at him with disgust.

Noah’s lips twitched slightly in irritation.

He did not feel sad.

Instead, he felt slightly annoyed.

Calmly, he replied, "Hm... Ophelia, let’s not talk about the past."

Ophelia’s eyes turned colder. "Yes... who would want to talk about the past," she said mockingly, "when they have done something so lowly and disgusting?"

She stared at him sharply.

"I am really surprised by your audacity... to stand in front of me like what you did was nothing."

Meanwhile, whispers began spreading among the students nearby.

"I remember now. That handsome boy... Noah Eldritch."

"Oh... did he do something? I heard he was exiled, but I don’t know the reason."

"Well, I heard it was something really disgusting."

"But those might just be rumors."

Students started gossiping while watching the drama unfold. Noah ignored their comments. He just wanted to leave.

But still he remained. Actually he was even preparing to talk with her in future. It’s true that his someone else. But what old Noah did was really wrong. Even though he shouldn’t feel this way, somewhere in his heart he still felt guilty.

Also he don’t want any more trouble at academy from her.

So Noah did what needed to do.

He bow to her in 90 degree angle.

"Ophelia...I am truly sorry for what I have done to you. I am ashamed of my actions. I know what I did was not something that any woman could ever forgive. And I don’t expect this from you either. But I still wanted to tell you I am really sorry for that."
