Dungeon Raider System-Chapter 367: Beach day

Uriel carried a smile of a thousand credits as he walked the streets of the east gate district. It was a beautiful sunny day, not that much of the sunlight reached ground level, but it was the perfect occasion for a nice day at the beach. Uriel headed straight to the gate and waited in line, but he wasn’t alone.
He was accompanied by Mary, Vivian and Marina. The three of them wore short summer dresses with deep cleavages, beach hats and carried enough snacks to feed a batallion. They were all smiles and seemed to be having fun, however Mary’s smile was as fake as Uriel’s intentions.
"Why did I have to come along?" Mary complained.
"But it’s our monthly tradition! Why didn’t you say you didn’t feel like going to the beach?" Vivian asked with a confounded look on her face.
"Then why did He have to come?" Mary glared daggers at Uriel.
"It’s none of your business." Uriel replied shortly.
Needless to say, Uriel’s true intention wasn’t what it seemed. On the outside they were just a group of people trying to get out of the city and have fun, but what Uriel truly wanted was to test if the fake ID card Phlox provided him after selling the flux orbs would work.
As Phlox put it, it looked exactly like a real ID card, but if the guards ran it through their database it would be immediately exposed. To avoid drawing attention to himself, the best idea that came to mind was to ask the girls for help.
They were dressed in the most provocative manner that wouldn’t draw any suspicions and since two of them were hunters, none of the attention would fall on the guy wearing an ugly bathing suit and a weird flowery shirt by their side.
"Business or pleasure?" The man behind the counter asked.
"E-excuse me?" Vivian blushed.

"We’re not going to hunt, we go to the beach once a month." Mary replied with a smile that mesmerized the guard.
"That’ll be a hundred credits each."
"Don’t you know who I am!? I’m friends with Tina Celes!" Mary said as she showed a selfie she took with Tina.
"I’m sorry, you may pass." The clerk replied sweating bullets. Even something as insignificant as a selfie with the heiress of the Celes company could open a lot of doors in the city. That was how Mary and her sister Vivian were able to follow their monthly tradition without paying a dime.
"I can’t believe that worked..." Uriel said under his breath.
"I also get discounts when shopping." Mary giggled.
As soon as they entered the beach the sun hit their faces making them squint at the same time. It was the usual when walking outside city walls, but the golden shimmer of the sun reflected on the sand made it even worse.
Uriel took a look around and saw many people having fun playing sports or sunbathing, but no one was swimming. It made sense since the waters were infested with all sorts of aquatic cryptids, which was also why instead of baywatches there were hunters placed every hundred meters.
It was rare, but whenever a cryptid came out of the water it was dealt with in a swift manner by the hunters, unless it was too strong for them in which case the hunters bought time for people to evacuate the beach.
"You look anxious." Marina pointed out.
"How could I not be? This place is filled with people and hunters, I thought this would be easier."
"Just relax and have fun."
"You know I didn’t come to have fun, I need to hunt." Uriel had no intentions of spending a leisure day on the beach. All he wanted was to kill an entity level cryptid as soon as possible to become a heavenly rank, but doing so without drawing attention was impossible with the level of security on the beach.
"Too bad for you, but stop being a spoilsport or they’ll start suspecting you." Said Mary as she placed a towel in the sand and took off her dress. Naturally, she was wearing a bathing suit in order to get as much of her skin exposed to the sun as possible.
Vivian and Marina followed suit and Uriel was left with no choice but to do the same. He took off his shirt and let himsefl fall flat on the sand where he remained still until it was time to eat, when a delicious smell snapped Uriel out of his sulking.
"What’s that?" Uriel said as he lifted his face from the sand.
"Don’t you know what food is?" Mary scoffed.
"No, I grew up in the slums." He replied giving way to an awkward atmosphere. Of all those present, Mary was the only one aware of Uriel’s upbringing and she said that without even thinking.
"I’m sorry..." She said filled with regret.
The meal was nothing out of the ordinary for Vivian who cooked it, but for Uriel it was the first time having a home cooked meal. After becoming a hunter he visited some restaurants, but nothing compared to the tenderness compressed in a meal cooked with devotion.
"At least the trip here wasn’t a complete waste of time." He said as he gobbled up the salad.
"I’m sorry if this isn’t what you expected, but it’s not like hunters are allowed to just jump into the waters without paying for the incursion ticket. It’s for the hunters’ own safety."
"I know, but it’s still a bummer. I can’t go on incursions without guards checking my ID." Uriel let out a sigh.
"I know you must have tried this, but... why don’t you join the rangers?" Mary, who felt bad about her previous behavior, proposed.
"Why would I?"
"Because they recruit people from the slums all the time. You don’t even need a fake ID, you just need to show you’re strong and they might recruit you."
"But what if they recognize me?"
"I can help with that!" Vivian blurted out.
