Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 314: His Brain Is Definitely Broken
Found him!
Andrew King looked overjoyed.
"Where is Damon right now?"
"He was rescued by a farmer and is receiving treatment at a hospital in a small town. I’m currently arranging for him to be transferred to Crestview Hospital under the Hawke Corporation." Chase Quinn replied.
"Alright, take good care of him, we’ll be right over."
Andrew hung up the phone, meeting the eager eyes of everyone, and quickly explained the situation to the others.
They immediately rushed to the hospital.
Crestview Hospital.
Elara Don and the Hawthorne met with Chase Quinn.
"Chase Quinn, where’s Damon?" Andrew was the first to ask.
"He’s in the operating room. The doctors are currently examining him."
Chase Quinn respectfully greeted everyone.
"Chase, can you tell us exactly what happened? How did Damon end up in that small town?"
Elder Hawthorne asked promptly.
"According to the farmer who saved him, he was spotted unconscious while the farmer was out hunting in the mountains. He then took him to a nearby hospital. The doctors there gave him preliminary treatment, saying Damon is fortunate and only suffered minor injuries, nothing serious."
Chase replied, paused, and hesitated slightly, furrowing his brows.
"Thank goodness Damon is alright."
Elder Hawthorne sighed with relief.
The others also seemed to breathe easier.
Vinny Hawke’s eyes were red, restraining her tears.
Elara looked at Chase, thinking of Rhun Quinn, and said, "You look a lot like Assistant Quinn. Are you his brother?"
"Yes, Miss Thorne, Rhun is my brother."
Chase nodded at Elara’s inquiry, a hint of worry flashing in his eyes.
"Your brother will be fine."
Seeing the concern on his face, Elara comforted him.
Rhun Quinn was also at Crestview Hospital, still in a coma.
He had the accident with Damon; when the car went over the cliff, he seemed to have jumped out.
However, after a fall from such a height, it was unknown what he hit in his head, which caused a severe concussion.
His life was out of danger, but it was uncertain when he would wake up.
"Elly, the two brothers are orphans and have been working with Damon. Rhun handles Hawke Corporation’s operations, while Chase handles tasks for the Netherworld Organization."
Andrew introduced to Elara and then said to Chase, "I know the brothers are very close, and with this accident affecting Rhun, the Hawke Family won’t forget. You don’t need to stand guard here for now; go check on your brother."
Chase’s eyes were somewhat red. He nodded and turned to leave.
Elara watched his back, recalling his hesitance just moments ago, and quickly followed him.
"Chase, wait a moment."
"Miss Thorne, is there something else?" Chase asked respectfully.
Elara looked at him, "Chase, is there something you haven’t told us?"
Upon hearing this, Chase glanced at the others waiting down the corridor and nodded.
"The town’s doctor did say the master only suffered minor injuries, but he woke up once and seemed not to recognize me."
This statement made Elara’s heart skip a beat.
"You mean he might have amnesia?"
"I’m not entirely sure; we’ll have to wait for the doctors here to do further checks. It might have been because he just woke up and was still confused, which is why he didn’t recognize me."
Chase replied truthfully.
Elara swallowed, suppressing the anxiety in her heart, "Yes, as long as he’s alive, that’s what matters."
As long as he’s still alive, nothing else is important.
"Chase, thank you for your hard work. Go see your brother."
"Alright."
Chase nodded slightly and left in large strides.
Elara leaned against the wall, dazed for a moment, then walked towards the Hawthorne.
She hadn’t relayed Chase’s words to them yet, deciding to wait until the doctors finished the checks.
An hour later, the doctor came out.
Everyone rushed to meet him.
"Director, how is Damon?"
The one examining Damon was the chief physician who happened to be on duty.
His eyes flickered as he said, "Mr. Hawke has multiple fractures, but fortunately, there’s no life threat. However, he suffered a head injury and is still unconscious, and we’ll only know more after he wakes up."
Upon hearing this, Vinny got anxious, "Head injury? Director, do you mean..."
"I mean, there’s a possibility of amnesia."
The chief physician said a sentence, then lowered his gaze slightly and left.
The expressions on the faces of the Hawke Family were all somewhat solemn.
Elder Hawthorne felt his heart rise and fall; upon hearing the director’s words, his chest began to ache again.
He clutched his chest, his old brow furrowed.
"Old man, are you alright?"
Madam Hawke looked worried.
"Dad, why don’t you and Mom go back first? At least Damon has been found, and there’s no immediate danger. We can stay and watch over him."
Vinny supported Elder Hawthorne and spoke.
Elder Hawthorne didn’t insist, looking at Vinny, "When Damon wakes up and you know the situation, let me know immediately."
"Alright."
Vinny signaled the bodyguards to send the elder Hawthorne home.
After that, the group moved to the VIP ward.
Inside the ward, a man lay motionless on the bed, his head wrapped in gauze.
Elara eagerly pushed the door open and quickly moved to the bedside.
Vinny and Andrew followed her.
"Damon, my child, I’m sorry, may heaven bless you to be alright."
Vinny looked at the man on the bed, murmuring softly, tears gathered in her eyes.
Andrew held her, gently comforting her.
Elara stood quietly to the side, her gaze soft as she watched the man.
His voice from before the accident replayed in her mind.
He told her he loved her.
Asked her to take care of their son.
He said he would be fine.
Yes, he really came back safely.
She believed him.
She... loved him too.
Evening time.
"Damon, you’re awake?"
Vinny had been watching over the bedside. Seeing Damon open his eyes, she looked overjoyed.
Elara and Andrew heard the voice and ran over simultaneously.
"Damon, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
Andrew looked at Damon and asked.
Elara said nothing, just stared straight at Damon.
Damon’s eyes showed the confusion of just waking up.
He looked here and there, struggling to get up, his brows knit tightly.
"Who are you people? My head hurts."
Hearing this, the smiles froze on the faces of the three people in the room as they exchanged glances.
Andrew went out to call the doctor.
Vinny held the man’s hand and, with tears streaming, said, "Damon, don’t you really recognize us? I-I’m your mom. I’ve always been by your side as your sister."
"You’re my mom? Then why pose as my sister by my side? Do you have scandals?"
The man widened his eyes, a hint of amusement in them.
Vinny stared at him blankly, at a loss for words.
Why was he speaking in this tone?
Elara, too, was taken aback by his words.
Why did he seem to be speaking without any filter?
"Damon, we can talk about your mom’s matters later. Apart from the headache, do you have any other discomfort?"
Vinny wiped away her tears, suppressing a hint of doubt, and asked.
"I’m fine, who are you?"
Damon replied perfunctorily, his eyes falling on Elara.
Elara opened her mouth, but before she could speak, Damon said, "I understand, you must be my wife, right? My wife is beautiful."
Elara: "..."
She felt certain that this man had hit his head and broken his mind.
