I reincarnated as an elf .......and married the yandere villainess.-Chapter 73:Training.
The training ground was too large for one person, but she had personally made it for him and he wasn’t about to complain.
Light shone into the grounds, bringing the warm morning breeze with it. The training ground wasn’t far from their sleeping area, enough for her to track or hear him if he left earlier.
A week had gone by since their wedding. At the moment, they were going through their beautiful honeymoon phase but today, they had been distracted.
She had been called to an urgent meeting with the ministers which she couldn’t refuse.
Atheline rolled his shoulders feeling the pull of muscles beneath his skin. His core answered as Aether started to move.
’Fire’
He felt it slowly started to move down his channels until a small flame floated before him, flickering as it grew bigger and bigger.
It compressed into a small fireball floating softly before him. Atheline swung his arm.
A small boom and the ground a few steps from him was charred but still normal.
He sighed. Despite soaking himself in Aether wells every chance he got and the blessing from the eclipse healing his core, he wasn’t satisfied.
It wasn’t that he didn’t get a boost in power, he did he had advanced from A+ to S a significant leap but compared to Lilith, he felt inadequate.
’Again ’
He did it again with a different element.
’Water’ 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
The ground around him started to freeze as it expanded outwards.
’Earth’
He stepped forward, and the ground beneath him felt alive then spider-like cracks broke the ice apart as it spread around the training ground.
Ice covered the ground again but a burst of flame guided by the wind struck the ice in different positions every time it tried to refreeze.
Atheline jumped off the ice as lightning traveled through the ice.
He wasn’t about to electrocute himself.
Two hours later of trying to coordinate the elements, Atheline stopped.
"Haa... " It’s something," he said between heavy breaths.
The pain had started to become unbearable. At first, it had been hard to coordinate them but right now, he was slowly getting better at controlling and coordinating the elements.
A faint sound interrupted his thoughts. He didn’t turn immediately as he listened to the approaching footsteps.
The patterns were not what he was familiar with.
Before no one approached him, most of them kept a distance and observed him as they whispered among themselves.
His being a centre of gossip was not unusual, but this was a whole other level on its own. He didn’t even know what they were gossiping about.
But now someone new had approached him. The footsteps stopped a few steps from him.
"Your highness," the voice was young and almost unsure.
He glanced over his shoulder, just enough to acknowledge his presence.
The servants stood at the edge of the ice patch his hands clapsed in front of him holding a folded towel and a flask.
Atheline almost chuckled, this was exactly how Luther did it but Atheline had given him a few things to do so he was alone.
Atheline turned around and looked at the servant. He was younger than he had expected probably around sixteen with black messy hair and a small build.
"Do you need something?" He asked.
The servant shook his head and looked pointedly at the things in his arms.
"You’ve been training since dawn, " he said," you should rest."
Atheline shook his head but before he could speak the servants continued.
"You’ll collapse again."
Atheline almost laughed out loud.
"You witnessed that?" He asked.
He had overused his core and ended up losing his senses. His body had been unable to endure the difference with it already hurting, he had ended up nearly falling but he held himself before he could.
"Yes your highness," the servant acquainted," you should take a rest."
Atheline shrugged and walked towards him. He took the towel and wiped himself but he didn’t take the drink.
"Are you not going to drink?" The servant asked him in confusion.
Atheline shook his head.
"I’m not thirsty, " he said with a smile," thank you for your hospitality. "
The servant nodded and took the towel back when Atheline handed it to him.
"I shall take my leave of them," he bowed but before he could leave Atheline held his shoulder.
The boy looked up at him confusion marring his face.
"Do you need anything else?" He asked.
Atheline nodded.
"If you don’t mind," he leaned in to whisper to him," could you keep about me collapsing a secret, I don’t want to worry your queen. "
The boy nodded almost hypnotised. Atheline let him go but continued to speak.
"You haven’t told me your name yet?"
"Gillard.. your highness... this humble servant’s name is Gillard."
Atheline chuckled.
"Thank you, you can go now."
The boy highlighted the training area faster than his legs could carry him.
With the last time’s servant incident, Atheline had grown skeptical of almost everyone especially those who were unusually friendly.
He knew it was just paranoia but he couldn’t trust anyone until he managed to place his own people in the palace.
He trusted Lilith but he couldn’t depend on her fully, he wanted to be the rock she could lean on not a kept man.
Though she would probably rejoice if he were completely helpless and dependent on her.
’Alright, enough rest let’s get back to work’
Atheline didn’t have the concept of time as he trained, the area around him had been truly destroyed.
Icicles stuck out from the ground, cracks deeper than the last were occupying half of the ground, and Atheline himself.
He was standing in the middle of the ground, his clothes half burnt after they accidentally caught fire.
Traces of blood were still visible around his nose though he had tried to wipe it and the most telling part was the wound on his side that was trying to heal.
He had somehow, he couldn’t remember stabbed himself on an icicle that was protruding from the ground.
Through all this Atheline was smiling. He could feel his core getting better and better and his control improving.
It was starting to feel as natural as it felt when using his dominant element.
Atheline raised his hand compressed wind naturally formed like a small white ball.
He released it sending the ball of air across the training ground.
At the very moment the door to the training hall was open and before he could even redirect his power he felt it dispersed.
"Is this the welcome I get," she said in an amused tone.
Atheline walked towards her with a smile on his face. They met in the middle. He stopped a step away but she approached him and touched his stomach then moved to his bloodied side.
"Are you trying to kill yourself," she murmured.
Her touch followed the line of the cut as her Aether flowed into his body accelerating his healing.
"It was just a small mishap," he explained.
"The smallest of mistakes could kill you," she said coldly.
Atheline avoided her gaze as it burned into his face. She let go of his now-healed side and stepped back.
"Have you come to train me?" Atheline asked.
She had been very reluctant to do so even when she brought up the suggestions herself when he asked if she could get him someone from her soldiers to train with him.
"You’ll kill yourself before you can even sit on the throne. "
