Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!-Chapter 133: Rivals in Stubbornness
Mia Sutton didn’t forget about the thirty-minute rule. She quickly tidied up, which really just meant washing up, changing clothes, and tying her hair up in a loose high ponytail hanging down the back.
She quickly applied a pretty makeup. Her natural looks were very good, and what she did was merely a slight touch-up.
When Mia appeared in the living room again, she found Jensen Sterling already there with a glass of milk on the table.
Jensen waved her over: "Come here." Then he handed her the milk.
Mia looked at the milk, her face reluctant. She didn’t like milk; she preferred carbonated drinks.
Jensen noticed her dislike but didn’t say anything.
Staring at the glass of milk in her hand for a few seconds, Mia raised her head: "Oh, by the way, Mr. Sterling, my brother is waiting downstairs to take me to the program group. He also wants to meet you."
Jensen paused hearing that, then nodded: "Alright, got it."
"So... do you want to change clothes?" she asked inquisitively.
Jensen responded: "Okay." Then he got up, stretched his long legs, and left the living room.
Mia’s eyes brightened instantly, pondering how to handle the milk.
As she was thinking, she saw Jensen turn back, pointing at the milk with his finger: "Remember to drink it all, no pouring."
Mia: "..." She looked at the milk, bewildered.
In the end, she resigned herself and drank it.
......
Mia and Jensen went down together, following the location sent by her brother. After a short walk, they saw a car parked to the side, and a person standing nearby, holding a phone in one hand, with the other in his pocket, lazily standing there.
Mia recognized her brother at a glance, and coincidentally, Holly Sutton raised his head seeing them.
A handsome guy and a beautiful girl, but somehow... they were just so annoying!
Upon approaching, Mia obediently called out, "Brother."
Holly replied perfunctorily.
Then he said slowly: "Look at the time now."
Mia: "..."
"But it’s also understandable, since there was someone else," Holly continued.
Though the words were directed at Mia, his gaze stayed fixed on Jensen.
Everyone grasped the implied meaning behind his words.
After that, he shifted topics and extended the hand he had pocketed.
His charming eyes squinted: "Hello, I’m Mia’s brother, Holly Sutton." His tone was casual, as if his earlier words were just offhanded.
Jensen was unfazed, calmly saying: "Hello, Jensen," then reached out to shake hands.
At the moment Jensen took hold, Holly’s grip instantly tightened, causing Jensen to feel pain at once.
His eyebrows slightly arched, fingers suddenly tightened, as they silently kept competing.
The force in their hands grew stronger, yet their expressions didn’t show anything was amiss.
Mia, at first, didn’t realize, but after a few seconds passed and they still hadn’t released their grip, she looked down: Goodness.
Instinctively, she grabbed Holly’s hand: "What are you doing!"
Only then did they let go, visibly red, and Holly peered at Mia, displeased.
Great, she’s already siding with outsiders, it infuriates him.
Casually said a few words to Jensen, arranged to meet next time, and then he took Mia away, leaving Jensen alone in place.
An inexplicable sense of bleakness.
Truth be told, Holly approached Jensen with no particular intention, purely irked by the thought of his sister being swept away, igniting a fire within him that he couldn’t suppress.
Moreover, recalling Mia’s protective stance towards Jensen, Holly’s face darkened further, lips tightly pursed.
At that moment, Mia said: "Stop the car."
Holly’s tone was harsh, still remembering how she shielded that dog of a man moments ago: "What for!"
"To buy some medicine. Don’t you want to keep your hand? The hand you use for surgery just treated like this," Mia retorted irritably.
Holly hadn’t noticed his hand reddening, but hearing Mia, his earlier gloom instantly dissipated. He pulled over with a smile on his lips and nodded at Mia: "Oh, then go buy it."
Mia got out and headed toward a pharmacy.
Meanwhile, at the other side, Jensen glanced at his red fingertips and tucked them into his pocket.
