Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 138: A Remarkable Person
Ethan Sterling was caught off guard by her soft gaze, unable to decide between laughing or crying, "Well, that’s a bit of a pity."
Ruby Sullivan’s face darkened, feeling that his joke wasn’t funny at all, if he was indeed joking, "Yes, it is." She confirmed once more, her voice turned grim.
Ethan Sterling frowned and, without caring for his image, jumped off the bed and hugged his wife, "You didn’t take it seriously, did you?"
"Of course I did. Haven’t you always told me to trust you?" Ruby Sullivan said slyly, pretending to be obedient.
Ethan Sterling was helpless, cajoling her softly, "What I meant was if Naomi Sinclair had any conditions for benefits, what were you thinking about?"
"Thinking off-track." Ruby Sullivan replied matter-of-factly, her face not softening from his explanation. She gently slipped out of his embrace, "Are you going to the office later?"
"I was originally going, but now I might have to meet Naomi Sinclair first."
Ruby Sullivan nodded, "Then don’t be in the way. I need to shower and quickly go to work." With that, she swiftly headed to the bathroom, clearly not wanting to waste a second.
Despite that, Ethan Sterling still couldn’t figure out why Naomi Sinclair relented.
He was sure he offered a win-win proposal, yet The Sterling Group really needed this win, whereas Naomi Sinclair didn’t care. For her lifestyle, such financial gains might not even qualify as an embellishment.

After dropping Ruby Sullivan at her office, Ethan Sterling called Naomi Sinclair, who was still sleeping at home and answered the call with a bit of morning grumpiness, sounding particularly impatient. Upon hearing it was Ethan Sterling, she said she would send him her home address.
Ethan Sterling hesitated for a moment, "Let’s meet outside. You choose the time and place, I can wait."
Naomi Sinclair laughed heartily while yawning, "Mr. Sterling, are you afraid I’ll eat you up?"
"Just being cautious, don’t overthink." Ethan Sterling replied without changing his expression.
Naomi Sinclair was momentarily stunned, seemingly just realizing what "cautious" meant, then laughed even louder, "Mr. Sterling, yesterday I saw you ditch Wenny to accompany a lover. Which part of ’cautious’ are you referring to?"
Ethan Sterling didn’t want to bring up last night, feeling slightly irritated, "How soon can you come out?"
"I’m not coming out. I went to watch the sunrise with Wenny early this morning, and haven’t woken up yet. If you’re sincere, come to my place; if not, forget it." Naomi Sinclair hung up after speaking, sending her location.
She sat on the bed in a daze for a while, then got up and started tidying up.
The security was particularly strict in the complex where Naomi Sinclair lived. Visitors like Ethan Sterling, who had never been there before, had to register and call the homeowner, only being allowed in if the homeowner agreed.
When Ethan Sterling arrived, Naomi Sinclair opened the door but didn’t hurry to invite him in, "Want to call Wenny and report in?"
"She knows I’m meeting you." Ethan Sterling was not exactly lying.
Naomi Sinclair laughed unabashedly, inviting him in only after a good laugh.
Wearing cartoon pajamas, her messy long hair scattered, with a bare face, Naomi Sinclair kicked off her slippers and lounged on the long sofa, casually hugging a plush toy, not looking like she was about to discuss business, "Actually, I have a question for you too."
"Go ahead." Ethan Sterling sat at a spot quite a distance from her.
"How did you find me?" She just wanted to be a carefree rich second generation, living a spendthrift and chaotic life, thinking it was quite good, and never wanting to change.
"MJ." Ethan Sterling mentioned a small foreign company that was acquired last month. Worse yet, the boss was soon exposed for illegal activities and is now facing over twenty years in prison.
Three months ago, when he was preparing to acquire The Sterling Group, he noticed the mastermind behind the MJ acquisition. His tactics were bizarre, some of which seemed inexplicable to outsiders, but the market would suddenly reverse dramatically, completely in her favor.
Ethan Sterling was impressed by this talent, initially wanting to recruit her for his Sterling Group fleet. Unexpectedly, after investigating, he realized he probably couldn’t.
Naomi Sinclair let out a long breath, her youthful face showing a maturity not usually seen, as if she had given it much thought before speaking, "The things I do in the secondary market are purely for interest, I have my own rules, but these rules are certainly different from yours."
Ethan Sterling looked at the "Shonen Jump" on the coffee table, feeling somewhat amazed. Naomi Sinclair was indeed a magical person.
She paused before continuing, "I have one more question. If you can answer, I’ll agree to help you this once, but only this once."
"Ask away."
"Are you worthy of Wenny?"
"With a clear conscience." Ethan Sterling responded without hesitation.
Naomi Sinclair raised an eyebrow, put down her promise, and went inside to fetch her laptop, "The Lawson Group is not any ordinary small company, my capabilities are limited, I can at most create some minor troubles."
"The Sterling Group needs some breathing time, once the second version of the Dream series is launched, gaining some more reputation in the international market, I’m willing to face off directly with the Lawson Group."
She focused on the various data on her computer screen, after some calculation and typing, she turned the screen for him to see, "At most three months, it can be done, if it can’t, I have no solution."
Ethan Sterling smiled, "That’s enough. Tomorrow you’ll come with me to handle the paperwork, as we discussed before, I’ll transfer two percent of my Sterling Group shares to you."
Because it was Naomi Sinclair, he had initially offered a sufficiently attractive price, the maximum he could accept. Although she hadn’t brought it up, he didn’t want to pretend he forgot.
"What do I need your two percent shares for? Our family is poor except for having money." She teased, her face reverting back to a playboy expression.
Ethan Sterling felt a bit awkward.
The Sterling Group, although slightly behind the Sinclair Group, should certainly not have its two percent shares seen as insignificant.
He crossed his legs, raising an eyebrow at her, "Then what do you want?"
"Don’t worry, young lady, I don’t want you now." Naomi Sinclair closed the laptop and leaned back on the sofa, lazily saying, "Your wife gave me an exclusive recipe for braised pork, consider this favor my thank you."
"Then... I’ll go back and thank my wife properly." Ethan Sterling got up.
Naomi Sinclair laughed as she got up to see him out, "I’ll come for dinner at your place this weekend. Don’t let Wenny work overtime."
Ethan Sterling raised an eyebrow. Before he could speak, he saw her wave with a smile and close the door.
He seemed to have indeed underestimated Ruby Sullivan. Perhaps this woman was not only good at making perfumes, but could also be quite the negotiator in business dealings.
After work, Howard was waiting outside the lab on time, looking at Ruby Sullivan apologetically, "Boss, I have an urgent matter today and can’t drive you home, could you..."
"It’s okay, I’ll drive myself back." In matters like this, Ruby Sullivan was much more easygoing than Ethan Sterling, saying this while heading towards the elevator.
"Um..." Howard bit his lip, fearlessly continuing, "Could you take a taxi back and lend me your car?"
