Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 119: A turning point - II
All I can tell you is, I will be waiting for you at the cafe in the outskirts that your father owns. I will be waiting for just an hour, Evelyn, so, decide quickly."
Erika hung up the call after that. Evelyn did not immediately take the phone away from her ear rather stood there in a trance.
Eventually, she lowered the phone and threw it on the bed making it bounce but not fall down on the ground. Evelyn sighed a little. Where has she found herself to be stuck now?
Erika and Evelyn had never found anything in common. As much as Evelyn hated to be social and was happy inside the four walls of a room Erica was very much the opposite. She thrived on the attention people gave her a. She loved the social status that her father’s name brought her.
Evelyn liked neither of those.
Taking a seat at the age of the bed Evelyn ran her hands through her hair as she wondered if she should take up the opportunity or not.
What was it that Erica could possibly teach her? If Salvatore wanted to marry her then there must be reason and he was not going to back out of it because divorce was rare in this life.
If anything, Evelyn was not going to be discarded but much rather cast aside like A forgotten wife, while Salvatore played with his mistress even then she would have a higher rank than any of those women.
Then why should she really consider increasing any offer power?
She chuckled and let it go. "there is nothing that she can teach me." Evelyn said to herself as she patted down her hair. "If anything there is only one thing that she knows—"
Evelyn fell silent when her mind thought of something that Erika could possibly know.
The woman might not be involved in direct business with her father but she knew what was going around. Her social connections almost let her in everywhere.
With that thought in her mind, it only took her seconds before she was marching down stairs into the left.
"Madam?" Marco appeared to walk behind her as she was going to with the left with the confused expression on his face. "Where are you going? I was not informed. Should I carry on with the lunch?"
Evelyn halted. Eating with her stepmother was not the plan. If her aunt give small portions to everyone then Erica was worse. She simply did not eat.
"Marco, I will be coming back but it would be a late lunch for me. So don’t wait up." She told him firmly before leaving. She immediately knew that he was going to wait for her. Asking him not to do that was like telling a cow to not give milk.
Once again Marco was ahead of her when it came to opening the left. He pressed the button for her and patiently waited beside her as the lift came up.
"Thank you," she gave him a beautiful smile before stepping into the left and waited as he closed the door for her by pushing the button to the ground floor.
What is something that he had learnt over the years I was the something that Salvatore had ordered him to do so specifically?
Julian injustice Evelyn walked out of the left. She narrowed her eyes slightly at Julian walking and because she had never called him to tell about her sudden change in plans.
"Somewhere specific, madam?" He asked and Evelyn honestly told him the destination she wanted to go. Julian was ordered to follow her around everywhere and she will not take the chance of lying to the don again.
Evident could not manage to lie so if Julian had informed the don that she was going to a remote cafe in the outskirts, she would not lie and straight up tell him that it was her stepmother that she was going to meet.
With whatever her father had done, Evelyn knew she could not afford to lie and whatever he had spoken she was seconds away from discovering it.
Evelyn continuously kept an eye on the time. She just had one hour and the outskirts were far away.
’Wait for me,’ she texted to Erika who sent a thumbs up in reply.
Thankfully, she breathed a sigh in relief. At least she won’t leave.

Evelyn stepped out of the car and eyed the cafe. It was still the same. Nothing but changed about it and that was what hurt her. This cafe might belong to her father but this was run by her mother.
Many of her childhood memories had been made in the cafe and not inside her house. This cafe was probably the safest place she had ever been in.
Was this the reason why Erica had chosen this destination? because it meant so much to Evelyn?
Evelyn willed herself and square inch. She found Erica sitting in a remote corner which only made her question her motives. Why had she chosen a remote corner when she knew that her former husband owned the cafe?
It only made Evelyn question her motives. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Hi," she whispered before taking a seat in front of the woman.
Erika nodded curtly. "I was not expecting you to come and since you have it must be for another reason. You don’t strike me the type that would actually tried to warn her way up inyo man’s pocket."
Evelyn stretched her lips and gave her a forced smile before retorting back, "because I haven’t found the need to."
Erika all but chuckled. "Sparky already? This just bring in your finger evelyne. At least let yourself be married to him."
"I don’t need to get married to stay Sparky. Are you forgetting that I am in the protection of his father? And if he passes away, I Would still be in the protection of the family." Why was she not getting to the point?
Evevlyn watched as Erica rose and I’m often called the waiter. Conveying the order for themselves the two women once again sat in silence undisturbed by anyone.
"Now," Erika began, "why don’t you tell me what you are here for? I don’t think you’re interested in what I have to say."
"Do you know anything my father would have turned that would cause. . ." Now she felt herself being at a loss of words. House where she said it so that I recovered was not exactly what was at stake.
"You, some kind of loss?" Erika completed for her. "Why, Evelyn? Something that you want to get out of me?" She teased knowing exactly that she had an upper hand in this matter.
"I can always leave." Evelyn threatened but realised immediately that was not going to work in her favour. "And if you have called me here to offer your help, there must be something that you want in return. I don’t think otherwise we would ever contact each Other. Especially not in this life."
Erika chuckled again. "Sparky, hmm. What form would have been if you were this sparky when I was married to your father and he was alive." She shook her head. "If you have had so much fun going head to head with you."
And fight in front of a father with his wife? What kind of sick game was Erica playing at? If there was one thing that her father hated, it was his family members fighting.
"Tell me if there was a mistake made by my father that might cause me some kind of harm."
By the time Evelyn finished, the server arrived to place their drinks in front of them. As he left Erica waited for the server to go at a safe distance out of their earshot before they began to talk again.
"I don’t know for sure Neverland. You know that I am not involved in his business, just as other wives are. If anything I will have to ask around." She took a sip of her hot beverage. "However, you must know that it is not going to come free. Asking around always gets someone in trouble."
Of course, she wanted something in return. That was something Evelyn had seen a long time coming.
"What do you want?"
Erika sighed. "Not many things that you can offer me but for the beginning, there is something that Alexis Angelo Alessandro has," Erika gave her nasty smile, "I want that."
Evelyn gaped at the woman. Her breath hedged as she realised that Erika knew something along and she was planning to go for it before Evelyn had anticipated her to do so.
She also got reminded of something. How in the world did Erica ever know what was going on in the household of the Alessandro’s?
"Erika," Evelyn whispered in mild shock, failing to recover from it, "whatever you’re playing at, I am not going to help you with it."
