CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 46: Welcome Kiss

"What do you have for me, Anton?" Henry called up Anton as soon as he arrived in his office. His gut is telling him that there’s something more in the barren land that they are not aware of.

"Seems like the bank doesn’t know as well if there’s something valuable in Amy’s land. But look at this," he handed a couple of documents to Henry.

"Those are equipment rental receipts that we’ve managed to dig through. Some signatures are under Amy’s dad and some are from Lucas Brighton," Anton explained through.

Henry raised his eyebrow as he scans through the documents. Seeing that Ash’s father is involved, he just hopes that Ash has got nothing to do with it because god forbid he will taste his wrath and Amy would definitely not like what he will do to his dear friend.

"Looks like they did some digging, how come the receipts are so vague? It did not specify the exact tool that was rented. Hmm... looks like they wanted to hide what they found there," Henry already suspects what they found looking at the amount on the receipt but still, he wants to be sure and get to the bottom of it.

"Shall I send our people to that rental company then?" Rei smirked, he is getting excited with all the action that he is imagining could happen with how things are turning out.

"Yes. If they do not cooperate, buy it out, and I’ll give it as a gift to my future wife. She might need those pieces of equipment soon," Rei nodded as Henry gave him a devilish grin.

Rei has a way of getting information from people, even if they don’t cooperate. In the end, they always give in. Henry can make people bow to him if he wants to. He is not a patient person, so Rei always tries to use the less destructive ways first in getting what Henry wants.

So if the people from the rental company do not comply with their demands, Henry will definitely use his resources to make that company sell out their business to him to get what he wants.

Rei went out to do his task after Henry gave out everything that he needed to know. Rei has a dark past before Henry saved him. He was involved in underground and black market dealings and activities that made him almost lose his life.

Rei came from a poor family and has young sisters to take care of. He was dying that time and prayed hard for someone to save him, not for his own but for his sisters.

It was then that he met Henry. He was bleeding in an alleyway and was good as dead. Henry went there to make out with some woman he met at the bar and thankfully saw him. He begged Henry to save him that he has young sisters waiting for him at home and the rest is history.

From there on, Henry gave him a new identity and took him under his protection. He bowed to serve him as long as he lives for giving him a second chance in life.

He uses everything he knows and previous connections to help Henry achieve his goals. He never failed even once, making him Henry’s most reliable and trusted man together with Anton.

"Lucas Brighton knows something, but why is he not acting upon it? Amy’s dad is already gone. What do you think is stopping him?" Anton asked Henry.

"I want to believe that it’s Amy, his son is in love with her and if he truly loves Ash, he will not do anything stupid that will hurt her," Henry could only wish that his suspicion is correct. Because of not, and if Amy gets hurt he cannot imagine the things that he will do to Lucas and Ash.

Henry went home early because he still has some packing to do for their flight tomorrow. A broad smile can be seen on his face as soon as he stepped into the corridor leading to his room.

He saw Demi and the other maids carrying Amy’s stuff to his room, and he can hear Amy’s voice instructing them where to place it. He stood in the double doors of his room and lean on the side with one hand in his pocket while the other one is carrying his briefcase.

His heart was in bliss watching Amy acting like a boss in his house. He definitely wants to see this sight every day in the future, his future with her.

"Seems like you’re settling in perfectly," he decided to get Amy’s attention when she did not seem to sense his presence.

Amy turned around to look at him and to his surprise, she moved closer and tip-toed to kiss him on the cheek. His eye widens at the gesture and was not able to react to the unexpected welcome.

"Welcome back, I took the liberty to place my stuff in here I hope you don’t mind," Amy informed him of the obvious which made him chuckle.

"I can see that... And I don’t mind, the welcome kiss is more than enough," he pulled Amy closer to him by grabbing her by the waist as they both watch the maids arrange Amy’s things.

"I guess it’s only right to welcome you back with a kiss, I mean I’m your girlfriend now aren’t I?" Amy naively remarked.

Henry’s heart sank, ’Is it only out of duty that’s why she’s being sweet to me all this time?’ He thought inwardly as his hold on his briefcase tightened. He wanted to believe that Amy is already falling for him, but with Amy’s words now, he got himself double-thinking.

’It doesn’t matter, I’ll just need to double my efforts so she can see that I am serious with my intention and not just because of the damn contract, why did I ever make her sign that anyways,’ he cursed inwardly.

"Did you go shopping? I don’t recognize these stuff," he asked as he noticed that some of the things the maids are carrying are not the things that he bought for her.

"Oh that, I brought some of my things from Aunt Alice’s place. I will not be living there for a while anyways so it’s better to bring them here so I can use them," she replied.

"You can bring all your stuff here, I can renovate our room if it will not fit, so you don’t have to move them ever again. You would be the perfect lady of the house."

Amy smiled and blushed which he did not see, he was busy formulating plans in his mind on how to make her completely fall for him. Funny enough, Amy is thinking of the same thing, on how to make him happy, so he can let go of his past.

She then remembered the reward list that she saved on her phone that she hasn’t completed yet.

She crane her head to look at him and asked, "What do you like doing when you’re not busy, Henry?"

Staggered by her question, he too looked at her with a creased forehead, "What do you mean? I am always busy, and if not, I will spend my time with you."

Amy pouted and pinch the gap in her brows, she asked the wrong question, this man can be literal sometimes, "I mean perhaps something that you would like to do if you have time."

"So you want me to be specific huh? I want to take you to an island just us and be naked making love all day, does that count?"

Amy nudge him lightly while pouting, "How can you be shameless all the time? I’m serious, I want to know your hobbies."

"Ahh, you mean my hobbies... It’s been a long time, I used to like boating. My dad and mom would always take me camping near a lake when I was young. My mom will cook the fish that we caught, and my dad will play the guitar while waiting for our dinner," Henry had a smile on his face while telling Amy his childhood memory. It was a long time ago but he can still remember it vividly in his mind.

"Would you want to do that with me?" she almost whispered her question, she was hesitant to ask him since it might trigger something in him due to his condition. But she still asked him anyways, thinking that it is a chance for her to spend time with him creating happy memories.

Henry stared at her without uttering a single word. Her heart is starting to feel dispirited, from the looks of it, he is going to decline. But at least she tried, she thought.

"Can we do it while naked then?" Henry asked with a serious face.

Amy was flabbergasted and it was her turn to be speechless. Henry wanted to see her reaction if he will suggest that. Until he can no longer keep his stoic face when he saw how astonished Amy was almost dropping her jaw. He burst out in laughter, making Amy hit his arm repeatedly but not hard enough to hurt him.

"You!... Not funny Henry!" She exclaimed as he laugh at her.
