CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 153: This Building
Amy went to work the next day early to prepare for the partial opening of their office. It is the day to meet some of the core employees and managers. Mary, Sandra, and Maya were scheduled to go there as well for their first meeting as a joint company after Bellory Cafe and the farm were put into one company.
"Are you sure you don’t want to have breakfast with me first in my office?" Henry asked Amy after they got down from the car.
"I am sure, I need to prepare for our meeting today plus the girls will be there so we can eat while planning." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Not even coffee in my office?" Henry pouted with a pleading puppy look in his eyes as they stood in front of the levator waiting for their lift.
Amy chuckled at how Henry looked, he is being childish but she finds it funny, and cute. "No, we can’t. How about lunch? Can we meet for lunch instead?"
"Ok, as if I have a choice," Henry dropped his shoulders while still pouting as he enter the elevator.
Amy followed and Henry immediately press the close button not wanting to have other people join them. It is early anyways so there are not many employees in the building yet.
"Wait! Hold it!" A man shouted and they saw a hand stopping the closing elevator door. "Tsk, didn’t you hear me, I said to hold it."
Henry raised his eyebrow and stood up straight showing much authority over the man who forcefully entered their elevator.
"Kevin! I’m sorry, I didn’t know that it was you," Amy hurled back feeling sorry for not stopping the door from closing as she look at Kevin’s hands that he is rubbing.
"Oh! It’s you Ms. Bell, that’s ok, I shouted abruptly, it’s my fault don’t worry about it.
"Mrs. Welsh," Henry snarled looking straight into Kevin’s eyes.
"Excuse me?" Kevin said totally clueless about what he just heard.
"She’s Mrs. Amelia Welsh, not Ms. Bell," Henry scoffed, he put his hand inside his trousers pocket to hide it as he clench his fist.
He doesn’t like the aura of this person who is casually speaking with Amy. The worst part is, this man that Amy called Kevin looks like a human cut-out from a men’s health magazine.
He doesn’t have to see the man naked to know how buff he is inside. His fitted shirt shows it all. His temper started to fume, he wanted to kick this man out of his building right away.
He does trust Amy but not this man. It takes a playboy to know another playboy and Henry was just that in the past. He can sense that this man has something going on inside his head for Amy by the way he looks and smiles at her.
"You’re married?" Kevin exclaimed in a loud voice showing how surprised he was.
Amy just smiled and nodded, not aware of the rage building inside the man beside her.
"But yesterday you said Amelia Bell, not Amelia Welsh," Kevin furrowed his brows in confusion on what is the fact and not.
"Oh sorry about that. My mistake. We just got married last Sunday, so I still need to get used to in saying my married name, hehe," Amy laughed awkwardly in admitting her own mistake.
"You just got married and you are working? What kind of marriage is that? No honeymoon? Is it a marriage of convenience then?" Kevin asked consecutively while staring at Amy and not sparing Henry a glance at all.
’The hell you care?’ Henry thought.
Amy waved her hand back and forth, "No, no, nothing like tha–"
"Our married life is none of your business... Kevin..." Henry cut Amy off and pulled her by the waist showing Kevin that Amy is his alone.
"You are right. I apologize if that came wrong, if my words have offended you, I didn’t mean it. It’s just that I had no idea that my boss is married, coz yesterday when we were arranging her office I didn’t see any wedding ring," Kevin uttered.
Henry is a man that’s not blessed with a lot of patience and he is at the end of it. He is definitely pushing him to the edge and he feels that it is intentional.
He thought that it was only Dave, Ava, and Mitch who helped Amy yesterday, and knowing that this arrogant man helped his wife yesterday without him made his head spin because of anger and jealousy.
"Right, it was in my pocket. You arrived right after I washed my hands. There was a little stamp ink accident, so I removed my wedding ring while taking the ink off my fingers. Then I forgot to put it back after you knocked." Amy quickly explained after seeing Henry’s sour face.
"Ahh... That’s why. Anyways it’s still too early, did you have your breakfast yet?" Kevin asked.
Amy: "Not yet."
Henry: "Yes!"
Amy quickly looked at Henry only to see him glaring at Kevin.
"Love?" She asked wondering why did he answer yes when they both know she hadn’t eaten yet. Does he want her to get hungry? She thought.
"She will have breakfast with me," Henry taunted at how bold Kevin is. He knows that if Amy says no, he will definitely ask Amy to have breakfast with him which he will not allow.
"Great! I’ve heard there’s a food stall on the fifth floor serving delicious breakfast, so shall we go there?" Kevin said in a lively manner and Henry is not liking his energy, not one bit.
Amy: "OK."
Henry: "No."
The two looked at each other and Kevin just watch them while grinning. "You two must have a lot of things, you’re not agreeing with. Come on, Josephine texted me a while ago that she’s already there with Mary."
"Love, let’s join them, please?" Amy held onto Henry’s arms with both her hands with puppy eyes copying Henry earlier.
Henry sighs, it would be better to join her than let her have breakfast with this maniac he thought. "Okay, love. Let’s join the others."
"Forgive me, I need to get used to our country’s customs again. I haven’t been here since after college. I haven’t introduced myself properly. I am Kevin Murray, Amy’s Operations Manager." He extended his hand to Henry which he took with great force in squeezing it, definitely not a normal handshake.
"Henry Welsh, Amy’s husband, and owner of Welsh Holdings, Inc., including this building..."
