CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 152: A Good-looking Manager
"Amy! Good thing you are here already. I have good news for you," Ava who was on the eighth floor called out to Amy in utter excitement.
"Fire away," Amy said.
"Some of the rooms here are done. Seems like Theo hired additional people so the builders are here day and night just to finish it as soon as possible. And everyone can transfer here two days from now.
But yours, the operation manager’s, and the HR office’s are all done so let’s do the transfer today and I will call the HR staff and the new operation manager to come in tomorrow here instead of the farm."
"Wow, Theo is fast. No wonder Henry gives him all his construction projects, he is really reliable," Amy said in amazement while checking the place out. It was still dusty and untidy plus some parts are still not complete but it was already looking promising.
Amy then started moving out of the CEO’s floor and transferred all her stuff to her new office with the help of Ava, Mitch, and Dave. The whole time they were transferring their things, she was not able to see Henry in his office. She can only guess that he is busy with all the documents that he needed to sign for the transfer of Welsh Holding’s 50% share to his name.
Her whole afternoon was spent on moving and organizing her stuff in her new office not realizing what time it was until she heard a knock on the door. Amy looked up to see who it was and her brow creased when she did not recognize the person knocking.
"Yes? Do you need anything?" She asked the man with chin-length wavy dark brown hair. He is around 6 feet tall and muscular with brown eyes and grown stubble on his perfect jaw. He was wearing a fitted black shirt and jeans, making Amy think that he was one of Theo’s sub-contractor.
"Hi, I am looking for Ms. Ava Lopez, I am here to get the key to my office," the man said.
"Office? May I know who you are?" Amy asked.
The man extended his hand to Amy which she accepted. "I’m Kevin Murray, the new operations manager of Bellory Inc., and you are?"
"Amelia Bell, the owner."
Kevin covered his mouth with both hands as his jaw dropped in surprise. "Oh, pardon my rudeness, I didn’t know you’ll be here. Excuse my attire, I was in the area when Ms. Lopez called and I asked if I can come early tomorrow so I can arrange my stuff before I start working, that’s why she asked me to come here to give me the key," Kevin explained.
"That’s ok, you can wear anything since it’s not your official work day yet. Hold on let me call her, she and my secretary went out to buy some office supplies," Amy then walked out to call Ava.
Kevin roamed around Amy’s office before stopping on her desk and picking up the picture frame.
"Ava said she got stuck in traffic and I’m sorry she has the keys with her. She said she will just come early tomorrow so you can go home for now," Amy said before noticing Kevin put down the frame back to her desk.
"It’s ok, I have nothing to do at home, I can wait for her. I can help you in the meantime if you want," Kevin offered upon noticing that there are still a lot of boxes in the corner that needed to be unpacked.
Amy could really use some help since it’s getting late and she’s still not done, "Okay, but only until Ava returns, then you can go home."
"I really don’t mind helping, besides I have to get the favor of my boss right? And this is one way of impressing you," Kevin jested and they both chuckled.
"I guess I’m lucky my HR head is your friend. She did not only hire an operation manager but a reliable employee as well," Amy said as she handed over the box full of documents in file binders.
It took around thirty minutes before Ava and Mitch got back in the office and when they arrived, Amy and Kevin were almost finished arranging Amy’s office.
"Wow, you two organized everything so quickly," Ava commented as she look around Amy’s office.
"Well, what can I say, our operation manager here is quite dependable and fast," Amy replied.
"Thank you for the compliment ladies. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll leave you three for now and see you tomorrow. Thanks for the key Ms. Lopez," he winked at Ava after receiving his office key.
"Ava, call me Ava."
"Ava it is then," Kevin smiled at the three before making his way out.
"Wow, Amy you should give HR a bonus. And tell them to hire such handsome men all the time so we will not get bored working," Ava said while staring at Kevin’s back before he got out of the office.
Amy and Mitch laughed at how Ava checked Kevin out.
"I wonder if he is still single and available," Mitch said.
"I agree that he is handsome, he will surely become popular among the ladies here. He seems charismatic too, something that he can use to his advantage. It’s not every day that you see a good-looking manager," Amy uttered before turning around to get the office supplies from Ava.
"Who’s good-looking?" the three shifted their gaze to the source of the voice and saw Henry peeking at the door.
"Our operations manager is good-looking just like all of us," Amy replied.
"Your office looks good, you are quite fast in arranging everything, I must say."
"Well, the operation manager helped me while we are waiting for Ava and Mitch to get back and this is the result." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"That’s good then. Are you done here? It’s already dark we should go home. You work too much love," Henry said before pulling Amy into his embrace. Ava and Mitch felt awkward at the sweetness of the two and slowly went out of Amy’s office without them noticing.
"Yes, I am, let’s go home, my love."
