CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 122: Cure for Henry

Ava called up all the applicants who passed the interview as core staff to start their training. During the application process, they were informed that the training will take place on the farm and they have to there stay for a week.

To Amy and Mary’s surprise, all of them accepted it. They were actually excited about it not only because it’s free accommodation and meals but because Amy’s farm is a paradise.

There’s the river and the overlooking view of the neighboring mountains. It is a sight to see.

Their training will only last for eight hours and after that, they are free to roam around the property.

The newly hired employees were first asked to go to the Welsh Holdings building for the orientation and also that’s where they will ride the minibus going to the farm.

Amy took this opportunity to meet Trevor Welsh, since his mansion takes the same highway as the farm. She visited him the next day, taking advantage of Henry’s busy schedule before going to the farm.

"Please follow me, your assistant could stay in the living room," the butler said as they walk inside the mansion.

Amy has been in that mansion before but it will be her first time going to the study room which is huge with lots of books. She checks out the books on the shelves while waiting for Henry’s uncle.

There is a large variation of types of books in there, something that a book lover like her would definitely enjoy.

She saw one file binder with a label saying ’Henhen’ she immediately figured out that it means Henry. She took it and when she opened it, it was a photo album of Henry when he was young.

She smiled as she flips each page, ’He is so cute. I hope our babies will look like him. Wait... What am I thinking... babies?’

Her thought was cut short when the door opened and she quickly puts back the photo album on the shelf.

"From the smile on your face, I can say you find young Henry cute as well," Trev uttered as she go towards the sofa in the middle of the room and invited Amy to sit.

"G-Good m-morning sir," Amy stammered as nervousness reigns within her after seeing the old man.

"I remember telling you to call me Uncle Trev, did I?" The old man smiled sweetly at her, making her more nervous. She nodded as she smiled back awkwardly.

She doesn’t know what to expect. Trevor Welsh is being kind to her but he did decline the invitation and will not accept it until she meets him personally. He could have just told her to meet her without the drama but the old man chose otherwise.

"My assistant said that you declined my invitation and unless I see you here you will not go to the party. I am sorry I did not ask for permission first before planning the surprise party for Henry. You must have some plans for him as well," Amy sincerely apologized for it was the truth.

She didn’t think before planning it. She remembers Henry saying that his uncle likes parties just right after he declined the invitation.

The old man waves his hand left and right, "Oh no, dear. That is not the reason really. I just thought that this is the only way you will meet me."

"Oh, is that it? I would never dare decline to see you, Mr. We – Uncle Trev."

Her words are music to his ears. Amy is the first woman that Henry introduced to him even though it was just a short introduction before, it still counts. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Back then Henry’s contracted girlfriends do accompany him to company parties but Henry never introduced them to him, they were like guards following Henry around.

"That’s it dear, call me uncle. It’s not that hard is it?"

Amy smiled with a relaxed expression this time as she can feel the warmth coming from the old man.

"By the way, is it okay with you if you join me for lunch? I have so much to tell you."

Amy looked at her watch, it was only ten in the morning and it wouldn’t be too bad to spend some time with Henry’s family she thought. She nodded and the old man stood up.

"Now come on dear let’s walk around while I tell you a story," Trev offered his hand to Amy which she immediately accepted. He then placed her hand around his arm like a gentleman as he leads her toward the hallway.

"I am not sure how much you know about our Henry but he is like a son to me. My late wife was the one who compiled the photo album that you were looking at earlier. It took us a while to conceive but we were blessed with twin girls and another daughter after. Before they were born, my wife took care of Henry together with Henry’s mom."

Uncle Trev stopped at a portrait, Amy knew that the woman in the portrait is Henry’s mom since she saw some pictures of her in Henry’s mansion.

"Henry got her eyes and nose, she’s beautiful," Amy uttered while staring at the picture.

"She was my best friend, my wife is her cousin. We were devastated when she passed away. My wife and I swore to her grave that we will take care of Henry until our last breath. She was so in love with my brother that when he died she was not able to keep her sanity."

Trev then touched the portrait, and his eyes were filled with sadness, "She was heavily pregnant when she killed herself."

Amy looked at Uncle Trev with wide eyes, she was stunned at what he said.

"It was too late, we couldn’t save Henry’s sister. She was a dead couple of hours already when Demi found her. Henry was also in the same room shocked. The poor boy did not speak for months, we have to send him to a specialist."

Amy’s eyes welled up as she imagined Henry as a young boy alone staring at his pregnant dead mother.

"That’s how he got his PTSD, are you aware of it?" Trev then faced Amy waiting for her answer.

"Yes, I know about his PTSD. Dr. Martin talked to me and gave me some pointers," Amy said as she tried to blink away her tears.

"Good. I told him to do whatever it takes to cure him. And you know what he told me? That you might be the cure for Henry."
